Welcome back, erniesarmy.

Maddon

Ernie, I just saw your comment on the Cubs game tonite referencing Pedro Strop’s performance. Fro hasn’t commented on the Cubs in a very long time, so I’m going to use your comment in this post and invite longtime contributors – as well as newer contributors or those who merely “observer” – to weigh in on what is currently happening with the Cubs.

Great to hear from you, ernie…don’t be a stranger!

Sorry, Fro, gotta vent: How in the world is Maddon continuing to bring in Strop when he blows, or nearly blows, every game he is in? Oh, well, I guess he would say to me, “Whatta want me to do?” He would be right you know, other than Rondon – who’s no Mariano Rivera either – he has no one to call on in a game like today’s who can shut the door.

I think even Chucky would agree that Lester deserved better. Pitched his butt off for seven innings, and then Pedro – Richard – Francisco give it all up. No playoff series wins this year, not until that bullpen is fixed.

This season has already gone much better than I anticipated.

I didn’t – and don’t – expect the Cubs to make it to the World Series, but things have improved on the field and Maddon has a lot to do with it, imop.

    Next!

    Thank You Genre!

“This season has already gone much better than I anticipated.”

    Oh, no question about it!

“And Maddon has a lot to do with it”

    Agreed again!

My rant was only to point out – to anyone who would listen – that this team is not ready for any sort of credible playoff run. That’s all. There are a lot of “Cubbie” fans out there that honestly think they are, and it just drives me up a wall!

Next year, get a better bullpen, and a reliable closer! Then I think you can talk serious playoff run.

    I watched first-hand 1969, 1984, 1989, 1998, 2003, 2007, and 2008. I want more than “Hey, were not as bad as last year.”

If this bunch doesn’t win a World Series, then all this hoopla was, as usual, a big waste!

Ernie, I would say that chucky has been setting the standard for awhile….but I welcome ALL rants.

Hell, that’s main reason I still show up here…so keep ’em coming, ladies and gents.

    tick FUCKING tock………………….

  4. chucky Says:

I’ve been wondering why Strop is even allowed in the goddamned building lately. I wouldn’t trust that fucking hack with a 15 run lead! All I can say is I hope to fucking hell he’s gone next year. Because if he’s back for the 2016 season, all I can say is look out. I’ll be on a rampage to end all rampages…………….

And thanks for the kind words gents. It’s good to know that my anger isn’t in vain.

  5. chucky Says:

By the way, what’s that white stuff running down Maddons left shoulder?

    I will be looking forward to it … and be joining you. :}

Ernie…..thank you my fitness friend! Hopefully, it won’t be needed, but if it is, I’ll be looking forward to ranting right along with you.

Cardinals slide continues. Cubs would be only 3 out if they didn’t fucking completely give away that last game in St. Louis. I don’t trust Lester to be able to throw a complete game. I mean, he threw 105 pitches in 7 innings even though he allowed only 2 hits and 1 walk! No errors either. Smart opponents strategy will be to get the pitch count up and into the bullshit pen.

The offense let them down too-only 3 runs on 11 hits and 9 LOB. The game should never have even been within striking distance in the 8th. That said, you need to be able to hold a game up 2 entering the 8th. The bullpen is the most likely culprit when the Cubs are ousted from the playoffs.

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
