The return of the toothpick chomping idiot.

by

toothpick

That’s my assessment, based on his and his staff’s handling of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. Not to mention his utter lack of leadership in the 2003 NLCS.

Your thoughts are welcomed, my frendts.

We will beat the Nats. Short pitch counts per at bat-Walks clog the bases”

Dave dont forget about all those damn rookies we have they need to come up and sit behind a good veteran

  5. Dave's avatar Dave Says:

Is Neifi Perez still around? Dustdick could get him to bunt with a runner at third and two outs in the 9th.

  6. chucky's avatar chucky Says:

Dave…….Corey Patterson can do that better.

I saw an ESPN article previewing this matchup earlier in the week. Claimed Joe Maddon and Dusty Baker were evenly-skilled managers. His argument was nothing more than stats-based.

    Bullshit.

  11. genrebuster's avatar genrebuster Says:

ESPN is a shadow of it’s former self….mostly PATHETIC, like the idiot that can’t see a difference between Maddon and TTCI.

“Like I said, I can’t repeat it anymore, the ball just didn’t bounce our way.” –

He didn’t have his horses, either. Plus, Harper clogged the bases.

I think that covers most of it.

  12. Robert's avatar Robert Says:

He also said he did not want to use prior and wood like he did but he did not have the bullpen Maddon does that is why they had to average 126 pitches per apperance in 03

Heard some radio douche who was complaining about walking Bryce refer to us as “The Unlovable Winners.” Supposedly, Maddon has a duty to pitch to Harper solely to entertain the home fans.

Boo Fucking Hoo. I’m entertained by W’s. Fuck the media, traditionalists, and the sheep if they don’t like us. Fuck anyone who supports any type of “Lovable Losers” nonsense.

  15. genrebuster's avatar genrebuster Says:

Very suspicious….radio douche might be related to Dustfuck.

Cubs lose 7-4 to the freakin Padres! 4-2 lead going in to the seventh and the bullpen blows it. Had an 8-3 lead yesterday, and the doofus bullpen almost blew that one!

I said this at the beginning of the year; the Cubs have a team that might just finally win the pennant, but that bullpen was their weak spot. It doesn’t hurt them now, but come August and September they better have that bullpen figured out! You cannot win playoff games with a bullpen that can’t hold the lead after the seventh inning.

  20. chucky's avatar chucky Says:

First thing they need to do is get rid of Pedro Strop. I didn’t like him last year, and I still don’t.

  21. Pie in the Sky's avatar Pie in the Sky Says:

Strop is too inconsistent. He’ll have four or five nearly perfect appearances. Then he has one where he can’t get one out. I’m fine with Rondon as closer (at least, for now) but they definitely need a setup specialist & left-handed specialist at the deadline. Maybe if Greg Holland is healthy enough at end of 2016 (That’s a big if, and risky since he’d be fresh off TJS), they can look at adding him.

  22. Erniesarmy's avatar Erniesarmy Says:

Lost both games of the doubleheader to the Padres … you heard me right, the PADRES!

That sweep of the Nationals must have got into their heads; “Hey, we don’t even need to show up and we can beat the Padres.”

Madden better get that out of their heads now! These losses don’t mean squat this early in the season, but it does set a worrisome precedent for later when it does matter.

  23. genrebuster's avatar genrebuster Says:

    I’m with you on Strop.

…so far, it’s encouraging to see how they’re responding today (to the Wed losses…)

  24. Erniesarmy's avatar Erniesarmy Says:

Hey Genre, get a post up about this insanity Arrieta is trying to pull. 34+ mill. for seven years? Are you kiddin me? No! Absolutely not! Tell Boras to shove it, Theo. Give him five years at 16 mill with an opt out after 3. That’s fair market value for a pitcher of 32 with one solid year behind him. No more Sorianos! Look at the Yankees! Those long term huge contracts are killing them. And Greinke is going to bankrupt Arizona. Keep that money in the farm system and for signing our good young hitters.
