I couldn’t play the video, but it must be nice to have actual clutch players on your roster, as opposed to the legion of bums that have ridden the pine for the Cubs over the last few years.
Pennant time! I may even stay up late for a few games!
It would have been BIG FUN beating the toothpick chomping idiot, but losing to “his team” would have been a nightmare…Murphy was on fire again, so clutch hitting must exist after all (“cue Yeti”).
Not looking ahead, but Cubs – Cleveland would be interesting. With Francona managing the Indians, there’s a Theo connection…
But first up are the Dodgers, and we know what happened in 2008…
Jesus, the 2008 Dodgers sucked and they smacked us 20-6 in 3 games.
We have to win at home because Cubs tend to lose out West. Had lost 9 playoff games in a row in AZ, CA until that last game in SF.
If I was not a Cub fan, I would think they would beat the Dodgers and even think they could steamroll them with momentum from Giants series. But, I am a Cub fan, so I’ll say they have a reasonable chance, but I’ll believe it when it happens.
One small correction, 45 World Series was against the Tigers.
Yw, genre. Cleveland won WS in 48 w/Lou Boudreau as player manager and he was an announcer for Cubs into the 80’s.
I like Cleveland as an opponent, because they have their own demons to exorcise. I like Toronto because it would unify the whole country for the Cubs-except Sox and Cardinal fans.
However, speculating/wishing for your WS opponent is really far too luxurious thing for a Cub fan to ever do-need to focus on the Dodgers. An opponent will be waiting if we get beyond that.

Well, if this score holds up, we will have an NLCS vs Dustdick. And Murphy *shudders*
C’mon Dodgers.

Dodgers take the lead! Dusty makes a record … for pitching changes! LOL! Enjoy the toothpick wonder Washington!

4-1 Dodgers! Hey Dusty, how bout another double switch! LOL!

Dodgers vs Cubs. Bye bye Dusty and bye bye Murphy.

Did not want to have to deal with Murphy and even the chance to losing to Dustfuck was unacceptable, so I’ll take our chances with the Dodgers.

Dave and Nemo, I’m in total agreement.

Apparently, Dustfuck has now lost 9 straight games with a chance to clinch a playoff round-and that’s a record.

Thx for correction, Nemo…what was I thinking? I can’t blame it on alcohol, must be lack of sleep…

I just saw a clip on Game 5 Nationals-Dodgers. The look on Dustfuck’s face when Kershaw gets Murphy to popup is priceless….at 0:19

I predict Cubs win the NLCS 4 -2. If it goes 7, I predict they lose. The pressure will kill em.
