Ryan Pace is a fucking idiot.

by

You didn’t think this could get any dumber. Well, it did.

Ryan Pace made the Bears even further away from a Super Bowl by trading away three draft picks just to move up ONE FUCKING SPOT in the draft to get Mitchell Trubisky. That’s right. ONE SPOT FROM NUMBER THREE TO NUMBER TWO.

He gave away a second and third round pick this year and a third round pick next year.

The Bears need every draft pick they have. There wasn’t a need to do this. New general manager of the 49ers, John Lynch, depantsed Pace. You would think that signing Glennon for the amount of money they gave him was insane. This tops it all.

This is why Soldier Field will be 50-75% full after the Bears start 0-3. I wish the fans would be smart and stay away the entire season. I want the season opener to be 40% full just to show these morons that we will not accept this abject failure of a franchise.

It’s so bad, it’s making people long for the days of Jerry Angelo or Phil Emery. And for you stat wizards out there, the Bears had much better records with those two at the helm than Pace and Fox have had during these two years.

It’s only going to get worse.

I had no problem with them Drafting a QB with their first pick. But they should not have chased it if it wasn’t there. If someone else was going to snag him in the 2nd spot then so be it. There were other talent available at the 3rd spot.

The only saving grace is if this guy turns into the next Drew Brees/Rodgers. But we won’t know for two or three years.

I should make it clear that I wanted the Bears to get a quarterback. I thought getting both Glennon and Sanchez were awful decisions. They could have went with Connor Shaw and whomever they decided to take in the draft (now, it’s Trubisky).

I just felt that the Bears didn’t need to trade up one spot to get him. He was going to be available at three. And even if he wasn’t, Watson would be still available.

  3. Cbears523 Says:

Trading up to get him is something I wouldn’t have done but rumors are that the Browns were looking to trade up and get him. If pace thinks he is the guy then I say go get him. If he turns out to be a franchise qb then he is worth every penny. Of the 3 teams that traded up yesterday and got qbs we gave up the least. The other 2 had to give up a 1st next year we just have to give up a 3rd. Before we say it was stupid like we all did with Leonard Floyd last year let’s see what he puts on the field.

If the Bears REALLY wanted a QB, they could have had a QB who led his school to back-to-back CFP title games.

    1) Why did the Bears draft Trubinsky when Watson was way better and actually available?

    2) Is anybody in the Chicago media going to ask that question in the post-draft presser, or even face-to-face?

  5. Rob San Says:

Please don’t call Pace a “fucking idiot” – it’s very offensive to fucking idiots.

We needed to draft a QB, but even if SF took Trubisky, we could have taken Watson or Mahomes, or traded down to get more picks and taken Kizer or Kaaya or Peterman.

Right now there is just not enough tape / history as a QB to study to tell if Trubisky will be Brett Favre or Cade McNown. Pace drafted this guy on a hunch. Even if he turns into Brett Favre it still was an idiot decision, because it will simply be luck, not skill.

It’s like putting all your retirement money blindly into penny stocks on a whim. Maybe they hit, and you get rich. But it’s still just idiot’s luck. You can’t run a team on that.

  6. Cbears523 Says:

I would have taken Watson over him too but they obviously liked trubisky more. If they think he’s the guy then we should give him a chance. Everyone disagreed with Floyd last year and it looks like they struck gold. We just need to put a good team around him so he can thrive. I’m mad that if they knew they were going to get a qb why would they let Jeffrey walk?

  7. tony cossio Says:

With the exception of white, which isn’t his fault, He’s drafted great. Floyd was a head scratcher at the time. Looks to be the best LB so far on last years class. But a TE ! Hope he’s the next Gronkowski.

  8. Cbears523 Says:

Exactly. We all just need to give trubisky a shot. We all bitch about not having a qb then we get one and everyone is mad

Aside from bitching about the NFL Draft and the Bears’ annual piss-poor performance at it, I’d like to mention that it is fucking LAME for a restaurant to pay $10K ~20K for HDTVs and DirecT, and then not train the staff on how to change the channels w/o looking like assclowns in the process.

  12. Fro Dog Says:

    CBears523,

While I agree with that, once again, I just don’t think it was worth trading up a spot. We won’t find out about who’s going to be a star and who’s going to be a bust until the second or third year. That’s how it is. Given the history of the Bears, my mind tells me it will be a bust. We will see what happens.

Sneaking off topic for a bit, everyone knows the Bulls got put out of their misery Friday night.

I think this is the Bulls’ current business model:

“The path to the NBA Finals out of the Eastern Conference will be going through Cleveland for the foreseeable future. There’s really not enough talent, via the draft or free agency to build a team capable of beating the LeBrons in a best four of seven series.

“Fuck it! Let’s just re-brand ourselves as a scrappy underdog team fighting through adversity every year and always waiting until the last week-plus before the end of the season to clinch a playoff berth; then we give just enough of a look to be dangerous before losing the series in five, maybe six games.

“Do just enough during the regular season to be competent, then get that extra two to three games of home playoff revenue, and we’re good. As long as we keep the fans’ interest to fill the seats for 41 games a year, and we’re good.”

    Motherfuckers.

  14. Cbears523 Says:

I pray he isn’t a bust. I don’t trust the bears organization to develop him. We have never developed anyone! Who is our offensive cordinator? Who’s the qb coach? No way John fox lasts beyond this season. I predict he will be fired this year. They will hire an offensive guy to run the ship. I feel like he was a good pick he just needs time. We deserve to have a franchise qb finally to cheer for!

  15. Jack Says:

Right! The 49ers said they were were NOT going to select Mitchell Trubisky. So, Ryan Pace wasted valuable draft capital to select a player he would have been able to select anyway with the pick he had! Now, here is the real kicker… If young Mitchell Trubisky does not work out as the starter, Ryan Pace is toast. He invested his entire future as a GM on one pick. Which makes Pace a fucking moron in anyone’s book. Nuff said.

  16. Sebastian Hawks Says:

Well we have the answer, Turd Biscuit sucks and the 17 week countdown to Ryan Pace getting fired has begun!

  17. Tony Cossio Says:

    >Well we have the answer, Turd Biscuit sucks and the 17 week countdown to Ryan Pace getting fired has begun!

It’s one game, wait until the end of the year for the pitchforks at least.
