Wake up….or go to sleep!

by

I’m skeptical that this Cubs team can do it.

Wade Davis has not been “lights out” recently…some of his recent saves were a little too dramatic (for me). He blew a non-save opportunity and lost; a game where they had fought back from a large deficit.

The pitching is inconsistent, at best…as we’ve learned through the years, walks do NOT clog the bases (cue Carl Edwards Jr.). The hitting is inconsistent…chasing bad pitches isn’t going to get it done (cue Javy Baez).

Daniel Murphy. That guy is reminding me of Steve Garvey (barf) . I believe that there are a few here among us who know what I mean…

I had a feeling that the Cubs would “relax” after their series opening drubbing of Arizona. Losing that series was bad enough…if they lose this series to the Nationals, I don’t like their chances of winning the division and making it to the playoffs. I think our good friend ernie previously stated the same.

The standings are tightening up…and everybody is gunning for the 2016 WS champs.

Question. Who is the “clubhouse leader”?

Today the Nationals have 5 starters in their starting lineup hitting over .300.

    The Cubs? 1 (Jon Jay).

I was gonna say the Dodgers, but then I realized that you were talking about the CUBS’ clubhouse.

Good point, tho’: somebody better step up, ASAP.

Be nice if it was a few bodies in the bullpen that could lead by example…

  3. dvxprime Says:

We interrupt Cubs baseball to announce that Jay Cutler signed a one year, $10M deal with the Dolphins.

  4. genrebuster Says:

DVX, I’m hoping that the latest on Cutler will inspire a new thread by Fro!

  5. genrebuster Says:

“Wake up…or go to sleep!” could apply to Cutler, too…

    FUCKING BULLPEN MELTDOWN.

The line on Carl Edwards, Jr over his past 2 performances:
    28 pitches
3 walks (all of them scored)
    6 hits
    6 earned runs

In the illustrious words of Genrebuster….BAAAARRRRFFFF!!!!

“I’ll tell you this much, I’ll never go back to Wrigley Field again. We’ve got three games over at their place, and I told Jerry (Reinsdorf) the other day before we came on this trip, I said, ‘I’m not going back to Wrigley Field.’”

“He said, ‘Well, you’ve got three games there next year.’ I said, ‘Well, I’m talking with (Bob) Grim. We’re going to get rid of those.’ “Worst press box, worst booths for television. It’s a joke. It really is. And so, Jason (Benetti) is getting ready for those three at Wrigley. I will never step foot in that ballpark again. Ever.” Ken “Hawk” Harrelson

I gotta hear Chucky weigh in on this!

I understand he’s retiring after next year. Why doesn’t he retire now and save us all from boredom! Hawk Harrelson is the biggest circus showboat in the history of broadcasting. Howard Cosell, in comparison, is a shy and introvert. Harrelson is a bushleague snotty nosed little brat. The sooner he’s gone the better for baseball.

  9. genrebuster Says:

Oh, that poor darling baby “Hawk”…he so crabby, somebody give him a pacifier.

Jimmy D, those Edwards, Jr stats are very disturbing. Brrrrrr!

One thing is certain: Edwards is proving Dusty wrong…walks do NOT clog the bases. Perhaps making Carl watch a looped replay of his performance in the 2016 WS Game 7 for several hours while repeating “I’m a bad motherfucker” over and over will help him (?)….

    ^^^ Another Burgess/Kubrick fan!

Let me mount the soapbox for a few minutes to bitch about the sports media and their perpetual fellatio of Colin motherfucking Kaepernick…

Here’s the shit that NO ONE in the sports media will say (and it doesn’t even need to be political): Kaepernick’s stupid ass stunt cost the NFL tv ratings last year. When he or his fellow NFL meatballs “assumed the position,” NFL viewers, who were long past sick of Election year 2016 and wanted to take a break for a few hours, got treated to more BS they didn’t want to deal with.

Remotes clicked, channels changed…and NFL ratings were lost.

Newsflash folks: TV ratings are the cash cow of the NFL. Fuck with the ratings, you fuck with NFL owners’ bottom line.

On top of that, overtime Kaepernick was asked to state his position, he sounded like the average NFL meatball who doesn’t know WTF is going on outside his world.

SJW dumbassery plus ratings-killer equals unemployment, Colin.

NFL owners hire and fire at will, and have barely any fucks to give for the fanbase, SJWs or not. They are not obligated to give ANYBODY a job, just as they may not be obligated to put a competitive team on the field on a year-to-year basis (see, Bears 2014-2017, NY Jets, 49ers, the now “new” LA teams).

Fuck Colin Kaepernick, and fuck the rest of the clown shoe media carrying torches for his sorry ass. And fuck you, too Deadspin.

Oh, and fuck the Cubs bullpen until they get their shit together.

    Bunch of grazhny bratchnies.

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
