As you may have already noticed, I’ve updated the website here. Last coach, I was very serious by adding his name right into the header when he was hired. This guy, well, the jury is still out.
I was surprised this made this hire within a week. Is it the right choice? We’ll find out next season. I didn’t like Josh McDaniels due to his failure in Denver many years back. Other coaches from the Belichick tree? Others didn’t do so well, so I was okay with them not getting hired.
In order for this to have any type of success, Papa George-e-o and Teddy Bear need to stay as far as away from Halas Hall as possible. If they can both be shipped to the Bahamas, I am all for it. I know George is a very nice guy and many fans say the same. But they also say he doesn’t know what to do. Ted Phillips on the other hand, nobody likes him and everybody knows he has no business making football decisions. It’s as if someone who manages a Subway is told to help in a medical lab for stem cell research. Point being, these two should make sure of one thing: Signing the checks.
Your thoughts in the thread. For now, back to work I go.

He deff deserves a chance. He supposedly loved Mitch in the draft and they kept in contact all season. If he can get the most of him then this was a good hire. I’m glad he got atleast half a season last year to call plays. I am praying we get to keep fangio now. He is inexperienced and needs all the help he can get around him from competent people. Hopefully he captains a tight ship and isn’t a puppet for ownership.

Fangio is staying. I am not sure how I feel about that. I think stats (cue Yeti) are not the whole story. This defense needs a lot of work. They need to find defensive backs who will actually not put their backs towards the football when covering receivers. I know it may to be too much to ask Pace not to be a dumbass by trading away picks. Teams are built through drafting, not free agency.

For anybody who plans to sit through the NFL Draft this coming spring: If the bears draft a player who doesn’t fit their immediate needs, and you hear the phrase “best athlete available:” walk the fuck away.
The draft is important, but what the bears need is aggressive player development. As much as the bears need impact players, they need the coaching staff to take this players and make them into a competitive team.
I say “aggressive” because the bears are slowly hemorrhaging their fan base, and they need to come out the blocks and start winning right away.

Amen.
It annoys the shit out of me when idiots talk about who’s the best athlete available. That’s why teams like the Bears have been a joke all of these years. Even people who don’t know the game of football knows that the player that suits the team the most is the one that should be drafted.
Example: The Bears probably need a wide receiver or offensive lineman more than the other spots on the roster. With their first pick, they should go get a wide receiver or offensive lineman

I agree you have to draft your teams needs but we shouldn’t draft a wr at the 8 spot. No prospect is worthy of a pick that high. I say take the best available player there. I would love if we got that Georgia lb on our team. Someone fast and physical to be our next urlacher
