I just have one question. Why the fuck is Rob Manfred continuing the season after the goddamned Marlins lose half of their roster to this fucking virus. And why no repercussions? This is fucking bullshit! And there’s no way in hell the NFL should even think about playing this year too.

    FUCKERS!!!!!!!!

The NFL informed clubs today of plans to amplify its social justice initiatives, including helmet decals and signage in end zones for kickoff games and club home openers.

Good bye NFL it was nice when it lasted.

    Chucky,

The NFL needs to cancel the season. Or at least postpone it until January or February to see what happens. This has “disaster” written all over it.

And if they cancel it, it should make us happy that we don’t have to watch the Bears for another year. Nobody wants to see them go 4-12.

I’m with you Fro. The only sport that can conceivably continue is golf, and with zero spectators. One player, one caddie per hole. It may take forever, but how much more boring can golf get?

  5. Pie in the Sky Says:

Football gonna be a mess. That’s always been the sport where I felt something tragic could happen. All the contact, super obese guys, if a large portion of the OL all becomes inactive right before game day leaving the quarterbacks prone to more sacks / hits…

Fro Dog and chucky, I agree with the NFL postponing the season until January, when 1) the COVID-19 situation (hopefully) improves and 2) when the current “social justice climate” calms down (hopefully after the November elections).

My thoughts on what should happen? A 32 team tournament for the Super BowlL

    1) Eight divisions of four teams, each team playing within their own division (Bears V. Packers, Lions v. Vikings)

    2) Opening round: Division Semifinals

    3) Second round: Division Finals (winners of fist two games)

    4) Third Round: Conference semifinals (winners seeded based on -2018-19 final records)

    5) Conference Championship Games: Semifinals winners, hosted by highest surviving seed

    6) Super Bowl LVIV (I guess?) Best neutral side NOT in a COVID-19 hotspot

Five-week NFL Season and arguably the best spring football ever (sorry AAF and XFL!)

Training camp starts first Monday in January and runs for thirty days (forty-five?). No exhibition games this year.

    Thoughts?

So far, the Cubs have been looking really good (bullpen aside)…too bad, as I expect the plug will be pulled on this season…maybe very soon.

  8. genrebuster Says:

The willful ignorance and selfishness is mind-boggling. It will be a miracle is MLB finishes out this season. PATHETIC.
