Am I, like Matt Nagy, an idiot?

by

So last year, I was supposed to go L.A. to see the Bears play on what ended up being a disaster on Monday Night Football against the Rams. One of my guys grew up in Hawaii and now, lives in L.A. He grew up a Bears fan and he came here for the opening game of the season against the Packers two years ago.

After seeing the schedule, I still promised to come out there for a game if the Bears were playing. It just so happens to be the season opener on Sunday Night Football. Of course, I booked the flight immediately since I had a credit from last year that I had to use up soon.

There is a 99% chance the Bears are going to be very bad this year. It will be worse than last year if you can believe that. Of course, I am excited to see Los Angeles for the first time. Every Saturday before the season starts, the town I grew up in has a festival where a lot of people come back to town. People I grew up with all convey in this one parking lot of this hole-in-the-wall bar where we all catch up on life. We didn’t get to do this last year because of obvious reasons. So, as it seems, I’ll be missing that for the first time in a decade. It hits me a bit personally because I won’t be there.

So, as the title says, am I an idiot for wasting my time going to watch the Bears? I mean, at least the Bears aren’t getting all of my money since the game isn’t at Soldier Field. But still. Flight and food along with whatever else I spend isn’t cheap.

I should probably ask the airline for another credit and put that money towards hookers and blow.

Fro, if you’re going to LA to visit friends or relatives, that’s ok. If you’re going to LA to watch that probable abortion of a football game, well, my fitness frendt, I really don’t want to say it. You’re right about one thing though. I’d rather spend my money on hookers, bourbon, and some righteous blow than a horseshit Bears game. But this is the news item of the day, fore sure.

This should give our good frendt Paul some hope!

One of the former site managers at fireronturner.com once told me that the best reason to go to a Bears game is camaraderie with old friends. That, and an NFL game in Los Angeles may only come around once in a lifetime. Have fun and enjoy yourself, Fro Dog…Bears be damned.

    Short answer: No.

I saw the link about George *possibly* selling the team. But I hardly doubt it. He’s went on record several times saying they won’t sell. But his kids are next in line. I am not sure if they want to deal with this team. They could easily cash out for life by selling it. The Bears are worth $3.5 billion according to Forbes.

Even after taxes and whatever fees it is to sell, that leaves the McCaskey with what, $1 billion? Whatever it is, it’s more than enough to live off of for life.

How much are they worth if Pace, Phillips and Nagy are shitcanned?

    Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  6. Fro Dog Says:

Much more money. Think about it. Phillips has been there for the last 35 years. They could easily give him a severance and promote someone else to the same position for a fraction of the cost (he has to be making seven-eight figures). Pace and Nagy? Both are costing much more than what an actual general manager and coach are making.

That could probably save them about $20 million in total. You know how many hookers that would buy?

Go ahead and attend the game. Just be sure to bring a sign with one side reading: Fire Ryan Pace and the other reading: Fire Matt Nagy

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
