That’s what happened four years ago after Matt Nagy promptly blew a huge lead as the play-caller for the Chiefs in the playoffs that cost them the game. The Bears literally hired him within a week or two after.

Also nice to know Bill Polian had to convince George to fire Pace….and Ted Phillips had to convince George to relieve Ted Phillips of football operations.
Now the new GM will report to George and George admits at same press conference he has a lot of work to do because he doesn’t know how to do that.
When some of the reporters challenged him on decisions George stands up and says he is in charge and will handle it. When asked specific football questions, he just says “Hey, I’m just another fan”.
