There is zero reason for us to be optimistic. Five games in, the Bears are all but eliminated from playoff contention. The NFC East is stacked with the Eagles being undefeated along with both the Cowboys and Giants at 4-1. You would have to think that at least two of the Wild Card spots are filled there. The last spot is either the Packers or 49ers.
The Bears would need to go 9-3/8-4 to get into the playoffs. The other teams in the NFC have already determined that is what is necessary. Therefore, the chances of the Bears doing that are less than me going on a date with Cheryl Scott. Not realistic.
Tomorrow night, they could be three losses out of the last spot after six games. The odds were not in their favor to begin with and it just gets worse from here on out.
Oh, and Ihmir Smith-Marsette is still on the team. So you can tell this dis-organization has no idea how to evaluate talent.
Your thoughts in the thread.

Fro Dog , business as usual for the McCaskey crime family and that will never change , a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while but not them !!

A couple of points for you to ponder Fro.
1) I had zero hope for the Bears this year, before the season even started. Once again, they hired an inexperienced head coach, an inexperienced GM, and an offensive coordinator from Green Bay who it seems is actually trying to sabotage Justin Fields. This year’s draft is looking like ass, so you can pin this one on the GM and their talent evaluators. They were doomed before the season even got underway.
2) I think we all had the Bears pegged at anywhere between 4 to 6 wins total this year. I think we came to expect too much because of their opening day win over SF. Nobody should have read anything into that win. It was opening day, when anything is possible. Plus, it was played in a monsoon, and the field had turned into a damn lake. Under those conditions, even a high school team could have won that game. My point is that game was not a good indicator of how the rest of the season might go. As we have seen during the next four games, this is just a flat-out bad team. Looking at the remainder of the schedule, I see at best three more wins, and those aren’t guaranteed. Those games, one against the Jets, and both Detroit games, are not gimmes, not at all. Assuming they take all three, that puts them at five wins for the year. Right in the middle of where we had them at the start of the season. So, there you go.
3) Cheryl Scott IS MINE!!!!!!! Stay away from her!!!!! You don’t have a chance with her, my old fitness frendt. Sorry.

I refuse to blame the GM or Head Coach. Remember, I am a Colts fan first and Eberflus worked some minor miracles with the “D” over there.
I think most people have severely under estimated the damage Ryan Pace caused in 7 years as a complete football idiot. His skill was brown-nosing the McCaskey’s into keeping him and Matt Nagy around.
I agree, the McCaskey’s suck…but Pace would have set back any organization he worked for. The fact that the owners are idiots is the icing on the cake, Pace still baked the cake. I expect this year and next before you see a Poles organization and roster.
I have some hope for him…it is unusual that several long time front office people that McCaskey called friends, were shown the door or announced retirement a few weeks after Poles arrived.

Mark , Ted Phillips is still there , and he my friend is a constant in all the problems with hiring complete morons as general managers ! 5 Gm hires Mike McCaskey , Jerry Angelo , Phil Emory , Ryan Pace , and now Ryan Poles , the first 4 were inept fools number 5 is looking like the same!!

Skip….But he (Ted Phillips) is a dead man walking. Only a few weeks after Poles was hired, Soup Campbell canned (pun intended) and Phillips suddenly retiring even after McCaskey clearly stated he would spend the next several years landing the stadium deal.
I would love to see McCaskey sell out, but while the football operation sucks the business is slightly less profitable than a US Treasury Department printing press. Why would he sell, even after Mom kicks the bucket?

I have the TV on QVC2 while I swipe thru Twitter. It’s 7-3 Bears, but the Cunts are in the Red Zone, start of the 4th.

Watching that first half put me to sleep. Even I could see that Fields is not being used properly. He could be another Lamar Jackson, but they want to make him Carson Wentz. As a Packer fan I am beyond fed up with Rodgers and LaFleur, but the Bears are beyond redeemable. Fro, Chucky, and all you Chicago guys, I see your pain.

Bears have the ball first and goal from the five and can’t get the ball in the end zone. Redskins 12 Bears 7…where’s Chucky with the postgame?

Fro Dog , I’m done with the Bears !
