How PATHETIC is it when history tells you the Bears broke a franchise record for consecutive losses (nine)?
And yet, everyone will be brought back next year. We all know what will happen in the end-of-season press conference because it happens every single year. George and Ted will get up to the podium and tell everyone that they aren’t happy with the results, but that the team is “making progress.” It’s repetitive. It’s the same thing every year.
But I know how the Bears can make that “progress” that they say they are making. Instead of trying to build a stadium in a suburb that is an absolute pain in the ass to get to on a random Tuesday afternoon, George should announce that he is selling the team to an actual fan of the team. Someone who knows how to build a winning team and actually wants to. I already know someone is reading this and thinking I’m stupid for suggesting a fan actually buys the team. How much worse can it get?
This team has hit rock bottom.
But it won’t happen. So I am just dreaming.

The NFL may not be existing for long, at least in the form that it is, considering the Damar Hamlin hit (the guy suffered cardiac arrest) and all of the CTE business. Before you know it, legislation is going to get passed banning professional contact sports, or the NFL will get starved for players because no kid’s parents are going to let them play football anymore. Are sports just too dangerous? Once all the wringing over our sadistic love of watching people risk their lives for our entertainment is finished, all we’re going to have left to watch is reality TV and politics. For the NFL to have the Tua controversy and now this all in one season is just horrific. Is there anything we can enjoy anymore guilt-free?

John, that’ll never happen. Football, hockey, boxing, and all other contact sports are just too profitable for everyone involved. Not to mention far too popular. Nobody will be stupid enough to try to introduce any type of legislation that could ban contact sports. What happened to Damar Hamlin, while tragic, was a freak event. If anything, perhaps improved physical screening could come out of this. Or improved body padding for the players. My personal opinion though is that this will simply be chalked up as a freak accident involving a player with an existing cardiac condition, and it will be just left at that. So don’t worry about the government suddenly outlawing football, because it isn’t happening. Ever.

Skip, I generally agree with you on damn near everything regarding the Bears, but I have to call complete bullshit on this one. What happened to Hamlin was NOT the result of any vaccine. Justin Fields is done for the season. He’s not going to play week 18, probably for the better, but that means that he’ll have no chance of breaking Lamar Jackson’s QB rushing record. But if the Vikings beat us and if the Texans beat the Colts, we’ll have the first overall pick in the Draft! So go Vikings (unfortunately) and go Texans! And may the Lions beat the Packers so that the Seahawks may get in. But I think it’s going to be the Packers that get in, per usual.

Skip, I’d like to respectfully ask you where you are doing your research. I have to admit to you, I’ve been vaccinated five times. Four out of the five times I felt kind of shitty the next day, but on day two I was good to go. And for the record, I still haven’t gotten the virus……yet. But I know if I do, I won’t have to spend a month in a hospital bed hooked up to a ventilator. I watched my own mother die on one of those goddamn things, and if I have anything to do with it, I won’t die on one myself. I have not heard of any horror stories related to the vaccine, aside from the freaks who don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. The last thing in the world I want to do is start an argument with you here, so please understand that first and foremost.
John, I’m sorry, but screw Lamar Jackson’s rushing record. What’s most important is Justin Fields health. He shouldn’t have played the two weeks anyway. Yeah, he gained two games worth of experience, but did it him any good? Especially his last performance. I’d say no. 30 net passing yards could play hell with his head. Luke Getsy is doing this kid no favors with bullshit play calling. Getsy needs to be cut loose on January 9th. He has cost the Bears god only knows how many games. In my world, a Super Bowl trophy would go a hell of a lot farther than some goddamn rushing record.

If Bears fans are so unhappy with the McCaskeys, then why do they continue purchasing season tix year after year, decade after decade? They simply cannot have it both ways. And please stop wearing their hyper-expensive swag, too.
For the record, Fields is, was, and always will be always a loser. I’m sick of the media gushing over him for obvious reasons, since we all know that he cannot toss a pigskin to save his life. Mark my words: He and Eberflus-er will out of the League by 2024.
