Again, teams who win the Super Bowl generally build their teams in the draft. This isn’t the NBA where teams can sign two or three stars and become instant contenders. And with Ryan Poles’ track record of drafting, this isn’t encouraging at all.

Are we really surprised? Oh wait! That’s right, “Bill Polian” picked him, totally not Phillips and the McCaskeys. I swear the Bears have the most delusional fan based in the nfl, I bet Virginia ain’t “mad as hell” about that. They’re getting fleeced by a family who doesn’t want to win and does so in the most obviously incompetent manner. They don’t even try to cover it up, fans do it for them.

Ryan Poles thinks he’s won the lottery, what with that 100 million cap space he had. And now he’s just pissing it away. Does anyone here seriously think any of these players will become impact players in a couple of years? And I’m with Fro: I don’t believe for a fucking second that Poles can make a single decent draft pick to save his worthless ass.

With all due respect, have you not watched the Bears at all in the last 30 years? Have you ever been happy watching them? For me, the 2006 season was great until Lovie Smith pissed all over the team in the Super Bowl. But really, that’s about it. Every year, they have lost many games and in the worst of ways. Seriously, they have found new ways to lose a lot of games.
So I apologize if I am “negative about everything.”

As much as I like P.J. Walker, this was yet, another idiotic move by the “genius” known as Poles. And this was after he finally smartened up by, as Dave mentioned, releasing Semen. (See what I did there?)
We know what P.J. Walker can bring. Maybe he can scramble around and do something. But that’s with a great offensive line (which the Bears still don’t have yet).
But let’s be realistic: The Bears should absolutely draft a quarterback to be the backup. Someone who has POTENTIAL to be great. P.J. Walker won’t ever be great.

Good luck with that? They really, really need Justin Fields to develop as a passer and I’m not sure ya’ll have the coaching staff to get that done.

Walker is an upgrade from Semen, but on the other hand, I would be too, even though I’m a 59-year-old broken down old man, so saying that he’s an upgrade doesn’t say a whole hell of a lot.
I think I have to agree with Pie about his thought of Poles using all his cap space to sign a bunch of average guys. Are any of these guys any better than what we already have? I guess time will tell, but one thing I know for sure: They don’t have the personnel to develop any of the players they have now. This new guy they got from Carolina, Moore, I expect a serious decline in his play this year.
You all know my feelings about the McCaskey family, and how it seems they meddle in everything about how this team operates. That includes the coaching of players and even play calling. How else do you explain how every fucking coaching staff always seems to be a close copy of the previous regime? It’s the McCaskey’s somehow handcuffing the coaches into doing what THEY want done. I don’t believe John Fox is an idiot. Old, out of touch maybe. sure. But he’s not stupid. Yet he comes here and all of a sudden, he couldn’t coach a pee-wee squad. Every coach after Wannestadt has been a goddamned puppet to the ownership. Eber-Lose will be no different. How does Luke Getsy go from running Green Bay to being perennial contenders to running the Bears into the ground? Something doesn’t add up here. People don’t just come to Chicago and become fucking morons. The Bears will be a goddamn joke in the NFL until they’re sold. I’m beginning to think that even Hampton and O’Bradovich are leaning that way now.
