I won’t get into the actual game too much in this recap. But hey, some things do need to be mentioned. I know, it’s preseason. I found this game to be background noise in the second half. I was happy the starters played a series on offense with some players getting more time. The issue I have is that there ZERO improvement on defense. I witnessed “Vintage Chicago Bears Defense” by poor play in the secondary including, you guessed it, a touchdown given up on the final drive of the first half. Inexcusable. Then this whole discussion I’ve heard the last couple weeks about how the left tackle position is pissing me off. Braxton Jones should be ready to go and instead, there are four others who could get the job. Just, whatever.
I never heard of the cornerback Donate Manning. Maybe we will be lucky and not see him playing for the Bears after this preseason. This dude was getting torched all damn game. Same with Case Keenum. Good Lord, this guy is awful. Let’s pray that Tyson Bagent is healthy and ready to go for the regular season. I still don’t know why he’s on this team.
How many players on this team are injured already? 10? 20? This is the exact reason why I was screaming last year that the Bears need to win the Super Bowl. Because of Ben Johnson’s stupidity, they pissed it away. Now, there are so many injuries, this team stands zero chance. The secondary is in shambles. This year is screaming “2019 Bears” with that bald dipshit, Matt Nagy.
What also pissed me off about this game is when I got back to my couch after halftime to hear Kevin Warren speaking to the announcers. This fucking guy just won’t fuck off. He is continuing to say that Hammond is being explored when clearly, this stands no chance. The land they are “looking at” has legitimate human waste under it. He is stealing money from the Bears and George McCaskey, as usual, doesn’t even see it. Kevin Warren is a fraud and is WORSE than Ted Phillips. Think about that. Someone worse than Ted Phillips? Yep, we’re seeing it in real time.
I don’t know how it was for those watching the Bears in other TV markets around Illinois and Iowa. But in Chicago, every damn commercial break had that annoying Advocate Health one with the song from New Radicals. I don’t need to see a pregnant lady doing yoga or sick folks trying to act like they are happy when they truly feel miserable. EVERY. DAMN. COMMERCIAL. BREAK.
The Bears play their last preseason game next Saturday against the Titans. Not sure if the starters will play, but we’ll see what happens.
Last thing I want to mention:
670 The Score fired Mike Mulligan yesterday. Ever since Dan Bernstein started doing his podcast, I’ve barely listened to this station. But again, this is also due to poor management at this radio station for many years. They fired Brian Hanley and replaced him with David Huh? to do the show with Mulligan. Now, they fired a guy who has been there for 20 years? David Haugh should never have a job in Chicago media. He has been awful since I can remember. The dipshit is on CHSN as well talking Bears with Clay Harbor and that bimbo Ruthie Polinsky. It’s decisions like this as to why ratings have been in the shitter.
There is nobody worth listening to these days other than Steve Rosenbloom on late Saturday mornings. And other nights I turn it on driving somewhere, people I’ve never even heard of are on talking. I know it’s a different era. But nothing will ever top the days of Mike North in the morning, Mulligan and Hanley, Murph (heeeyyyy) and then Boers and Bernstein to close it out. That was appointment radio.

Once again, I completely blew by yesterdays game by doing a lot of yard work and helping my dad repair a fence. Translation……I missed every worthless second of this shitshow. I have come to realize however, that preseason games are complete useless to judge how any team plays during the regular season. Remember the Super Bowl winning 1985 team. That team went 1-3 in the pre-season, and with the exception of the Monday night game in Miami, they romped over every team they played to an almost ridiculous manner. But also remember that was 41 years ago (goddamn, I’m getting so fucking old) and the players, coaches, and upper management, and ownership, have all changed, and in the process, gotten a hell of a lot dumber. Especially the ownership. I still contend, and I will until somebody, anybody, proves me wrong, that the goddamn McCaskey Crime Family is extensively meddling in the coaching of this team. Ben Johnson was supposed to be the new, hotshot free agent head coaching candidate who was going to be the savior of whichever team he landed on. The Bears weren’t expected to land him, but somehow did it. Then he signs, and instantly turns into a motherfucking moron. How many head coaches have the Bears hired and utlimately destroyed by fucking around with that HC? They even ruined Ditka, for fucks sake!!!!!!!!!!! So no, I don’t really even need to the preseason shitshow and the parade of stupidity to know that the Bears are going to suck donkey balls this season. I knew it back in January, when they lost to the Rams. A first place schedule, and a head coach with a fucking leash around his goddamn neck, put there by ownership that’s not even qualified to pick up all the empty beer cups left in the stands after the game ended, all spells complete, utter disaster. They will be lucky if they win five games this year. My worry…….will be the same as always; Will Hampton and O’Bradovich survive till the first week in January? Goddamn, I sure hope so.

Fro, I did some research into Mike Mulligans’s firing last Friday, and came across this article on Yahoo Sports via Barrett Media, by John Mamola. Jesus fucking jumping shitballs! How in the actual fuck does one person manage to just slobber over two different asses at once? This stupid cocksucker did everything short of anoint both Mulligan and Bitch Rosen to fucking sainthood! I never thought one man could grovel as much as this goddamn Mamola! What a fucking punk-ass-bitch! Check it out Fro, but I suggest you have a vomit bag handy…….
What’s Next for Mike Mulligan After Departing Chicago’s 104.3 The Score – Yahoo Sports
And now I hear that Jarrett Payton is expected to replace Mulligan. Now, the reason is crystal clear why Payton left WGN TV. This has been in the works for quite some time. Make no mistake, I’m no fan of Mulligan. Never was, never will be. But this fucking smells of budget cuts, something that I hate with a goddamn passion. No different the WWE right after Wrestlemania. This years were far worse because TK FUCKING O tried to renegoiate several contracts of many high profile wrestlers. I guess they were making a little too much money despite being able to put an ass every 18 inches in the stands. That’s exactly what happened to the New Day. They said no to the proposed pay cut, and now they’re probably going to AEW. Mulligan was there for 23 years. And now they just summarily dismiss him. I didn’t like him, but he did have a lot of people who did. I don’t know what the fuck is happening at The Score, if they’re having financial problems, or personality issues. To me, it sounds a little like both. Mulligan made a good piece of coin, I’m sure, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Bitch Rosen talked to him about a pay cut, even though he still had two years left on his contract. And I lot of people are pissed over this. Check out this piece from Jay Mariotti.
DON’T FIRE MIKE MULLIGAN IN CHICAGO — TAKE DOWN MITCH ROSEN, HIS WRETCHED RADIO BOSS
I wholeheartedly agree. In fact, it should have happened a long time ago.
