Tyson Bagent out with a concussion. The second coming of Trevor Simien will start on Monday.

by

The Bears are already fucked. This is why losing on Sunday was basically the end all, be all. This is where the wheels come off.

Now with Bagent on the shelf, Mike Glennon Trevor Semen Matt Barkley Case Keenum is starting. This dude had a flash of success years ago with the Vikings. Other than that, he’s done absolutely nothing. He can’t throw. He can’t scramble out of the pocket. I don’t even think this guy can tie his fucking shoes. Are the Bears going to try to find a competent quarterback to start a couple games?

My guess is probably not. They may find that other quarterback who played in the preseason. We’ve seen this movie before.

At 1-1, the season feels like it’s over already. I use to say it’s over by Columbus Day. We’re weeks away from that.

Oh boy. Monday’s game just got a lot worse to even think about.

Hey Fro, have you ever watched a Bears Monday night game on ABC 7 from Chicago? Their pre and post game shows are absolutely wretched, man. The name is even worse; Monday Night Monsters. Goddamn, isn’t time to retire that whole “Monster” bullshit. They haven’t played even remotely close to living up to that “Monster” moniker for more than 30 years now. Maybe now they go with Monday Night Monstrosities. I think that’s much more appropriate now.

    Thoughts……..?

I know ABC 7 always has their own pregame show. If the game was only on ESPN, ABC 7 or another Chicago station always carried it since the NFL has that rule regarding home markets.

I am pretty sure Ryan Chiaverini does that program along with that whore, Dionne Miller. The Fox 32 broadcast is even worse with bimbos Cassie Carlson and Devan Kaney. As you can tell, there are a lot of bimbos/whores in Chicago news and it’s not only obnoxious, but insulting to the viewers.

Yeah, I konw where you’re coming from. Anything, either TV or radio, that covers sports in Chicago isn’t worth a damn anymore. The days of Boers and Bernstein are long gone. Hell, even Mac, Jurko, and Harry are long gone. Jurko is still there, but Harry died, and who cares about MacNeil. Granted, those three only had a couple segments that I enjoyed. Monday Night John was an absolute riot fest. They did another segment, one that I can’t remember the name, where one guy would read an oddball news report from a certain city, and MacNeil would always say “hello!!!!!” after the named city. Then for whatever reason, both stations seemed bent on self-destruction. One of the biggest mistakes the Score ever made was letting Jason Goff walk. AND THEY FUCKING DID IT TWICE, FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, some of their hiring choices left a lot to be desired. I speak of, of course the likes of Prick Telender, who quit in the middle of a show, leaving Doug Buffone to drift in the breeze. Seriously, he was totally befuddled by Telenders complete lack of professionalism. Then there’s Matt Speigel, who has always sucked ass, Bruce Levine, who is duller than cold, used up dishwater, and of course, your all time favorite, David Huh(?). There have been others who were totally unlistenable to me. Mike North, who had a strange admiration for the Mafia, Mike Mulligan, who just devolved into making loud sound effects in his show, mainly when introducing the next shows hosts during transition, something from the very first days of the Score that should have died back then. There are more. I won’t bore you any more with that.

Television coverage was never great to begin with. In fact, it was so bad that there is only one show that I ever watched with any regularity; Sports Sunday on NBC 5 on Sunday nights with Mark Giangreco and Steve Mongo McMichael. I watched that show all the way up to the day Mongo got fired for literally sticking a needle in Giangreco’s neck. Claimed he was testing him for AIDS. They tried other hosts, including Trace Armstrong and the San Diego Chicken, but not one was any good. Mongo went over to SportsChannel (There’s a blast from the past) to do a show with fat slob Steve Dahl and Garry Meier called Steve, Steve, and Garry, where Mongo beat up and pissed off Garry to the point where he walked off the show. It was pretty bad, but I kind of enjoyed it. It only lasted two shows, and that ended Mongo’s time on TV until Eric Bischoff hired him to do color commentary on Monday Nitro, and untilmately becoming a member of the Four Horsemen. I’m so full of useless information, aren’t I? I taped all of those Sports Sunday shows and converted them to DVD. Nah, I’m not obsessed, am I?

Anyway, yeah, sports coverage in Chicago, radio or TV, has become the complete opposite of what it used to be 25-30 years ago. Back then it was must watch/listen to media. Today, it’s must do something more interesting, like watching paint dry. The media doesn’t even qualify as a shell of itself at this point, and I don’t see it coming back anything soon, if at all.

Did I tell you not tell you about Bernstein having the podcast with Abbatcola? I listen to them everyday. And just last week, Jason Goff has his own show about Chicago sports as well. It’s like the old days again! I listen to most of it daily. Go to YouTube and look for Dan Bernstein Unfiltered and Jason Goff Unscripted.
