Da Coach.

We will all miss him. I have very early memories of him being the coach for the Bears. I was at the Monday Night game in 2013 where it was -10 and Ditka was being honored at halftime. That was pretty cool. Unfortunately, the Bears have not been the same franchise since he was booted as we all know. We pray he will help them from above going forward.

Like I said in the presious thread, this one hurts like hell. I remember quite well when they won Super Bowl XX. I don’t know how because I was so fucking drunk I didn’t know my own name. What a glorious day that was. Ditka gave us so much when he was in Chicago, even when the Bears sucked ass, we could always count on Da Coach to give one of his famous surly interviews, especially when the media asked him stupid questions. There wasn’t anyone like him. He even dished it out to one of our favorites, another guy who I truly miss with a passion, the late Terry Boers. In many ways, they were very much alike. It seems we’re losing a lot of our favorites, and it’s truly heartbreaking. To me, at least. Perhaps more people, here, and in many other places too. I must admit, it’s been a rough day for me. There’s a part of me who wishes that these things would never happen. Mike Ditka lived to the age of 86. And he packed one hell of a lot of life, fire, and passion in those 86 years. I wish more people, on all of our favorite teams, had that fire and passion. Ditka’s last year withe Bears, 1992, was terrible. They finished 5-11, and obviously didn’t make the playoffs. That’s when boy genius (AKA moron) Michael McCaskey thought he got smart and replaced Ditka with bears search for head coach after Dave Wannstedt. After proving how much he sucked ass they fuck up replacing Wannstedt with the ever boring Dork Jauron. Jaurons hiring had to be the biggest clusterfuck in NFL history. And of course every coach who came on never once measured up to the Ditka standard. To say that that miss that team, those coaches, and that entire period in my life would be a gross understatement. To the entire Ditka family, my deepest condolences. Thank you so very, very much for sharing him with us all. I love him, and I love you for sharing him with us. He will be missed.

RIP, Coach Ditka, and thank you for everything you did. You gave us great memories. And I will take mine with me when I’m gone too.

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
