I’m watching a movie. I’m not interested in watching a Dodger celebration.
If someone here doesn’t like it, TOUGH SHIT!

    I’ve had enough.

  2. chucky Says:

And one thing: Thank you FroDog for putting this site up. I greatly appreciate all of your efforts to give everyone here a forum to vent our frustrations.

    Thanks again FroDog!

By the way, I heard you again on B & B’s show. I REALLY like those guys.

  3. captain1kirk Says:

There will be no Dodger celebration tonight. The Cubs and Harden will win this game tonight. The Cubs were spooked by the thousands of pathetic sheeple that paid way too much to get into Wrigley Park. The 100 year pressure cooker that they were put into. This is the best fucking team in the National League and it is time to show it. Lou is one of the best managers in baseball. Remember 1984 taking a 2-0 lead into San Diego, this ain’t over till the fat lady sings.

Given anything less than a WS this year I will recomend sweeping changes but for right now hold your heads up and lets stick three wins up Joe Torres ass.

  4. Chris1998 Says:

Yeah, Manny is a real bad ass. But he’s not “street”. I’d like to kick the shit out of his steroid-laden ass.

  5. robert Says:

this team just needs to have a choke and a smile and shut the fuck up

  6. Chris1998 Says:

    Yes, Robert…exactly.

I cannot believe Manny disrespected Joe Torre about his hair. And Manny did it in front of the media. Made Torre look bad. Joe Torre is one of the best managers ever!

  7. Chris1998 Says:

Is this the Cubs AAA Iowa farm team playing? Someone needs to smack Piniella in the head. Or tell him to change his meds.

  8. Chris1998 Says:

Well, at least tomorrow the Bears play…

  9. Chris1998 Says:

Where the fuck are all the Cubs fans that were in Southern California during the regular season? A bunch of fucking fair weather Dodger’s fans.

  10. Rogue52 Says:

RIP 100 Years. Time for Year 101…

  11. Jerry Says:

What a pathetic display of baseball!! How can a team be so dominant in the regular season and then put up such horrific numbers in the playoffs. This team needs some shrinks. Since you guys are already in LA maybe Dr. Phil could take a look at you. There is no way that the Dodgers are a better team than the Cubs. I don’t care that they just swept them, they are not a better team. The only difference that I saw in the two teams was the Dodgers had fun while the Cubs were acting as if they were at a funeral. The Cubs need someone like a Manny Ramirez to come in here and liven this team up. I don’t want to hear about black cats, Bartman, and billy goats, or how they should tear down Wrigley Field. This team played loose all summer long and then when the rubber hit the road so to speak they froze like a deer in headlights. I really don’t know what else to say except when does spring tranining start? I will always love this team but I am sick and tired losing as the status quo.
    Lou retire
    Sam Zell sell the Cubs
    Sheeple no comment
Finally Lou if you don’t retire please fire Larry Rothschild or throw him out of the plane on the way home.

  12. Chris1998 Says:

The Cubs and their organization are a bunch of clowns.

FUCK 2009! Who gives a shit?

  13. mlbtvsucks Says:

It was odd to see the relievers, Dayrle Wardm and Fontenot do somewhat well. Lee sucked, ARam sucked, and mostly, Soriano sucked. What a fuck up that guy is.

Was it just me or did anyone else have to mute the game due to the announcers not knowing how many outs there were several times during the game? Allbeit, a double play would be interesting with 2 outs already in an inning.

  14. brainfuckers Says:

I’m actually glad that the season went this way… the best cubs season that I have seen……ever…….. every other time I hold on to hope. This year broke me, finally. A great season and to be literally slapped in the face with a huge backhand. That backhand woke me up and i realized FINALLY that they will never win this. I am out. I am burning my stuff tomorrow and am going to root for some other team. On my daughters life I am done with these losers…..If this season had never happened… I would be holding on to hope forever… Thanks go out to the Cubs for finally making me go away. Thanks for a great site frodog…… This is the best site ever…. Good luck to you Cubs fans who stay faithfull… I wish you the best of luck!!! I am too tired physically and too tired of this emotional rollercoaster and enough is enough… I finally get it…. Peace!!!

  15. armycubsfan Says:

I will always love the Cubs. I’m waiting until next year, and the next, and the next, and the next. However long it takes for them to win it all, I will root them on. I have enough resolve and patience to take it. Each year may hurt, but it’s only temporary, and I get over it rather quickly. My Cubs jersey and hat are put away. I shall wear them again on the first day of Spring training or the first day of the regular season, and then periodically throughout the season. I will listen to Pat and Ron on AM 720. I will watch Len and Bob call the games on WGN and CSN. I will watch Dan Pleasac’s post-victory antics. I will root on the Cubs, no matter what. I’m not a sheeple, I’m just strong and I can take the punishment this team can give me year after year. They are just a baseball team, not my religion. I do love my Cubs, and I will wait until next year, or whatever year they finally decide to do it.

  16. armycubsfan Says:

    Oh, and go Cubs!

  17. AndersonvileAl Says:

I’ll always root for the Cubs, but I’m going to take a step back this year. I was watching an ESPN.com story about a month ago, and Billy Corgan (of all people) talked about watching the team from a safe distance. That’s what I’m going to do.
I’ll get the score off my cell phone. I may watch a couple of games … or not. I may even go to a game. I don’t know, but I do know I can’t invest the energy, emotion and stress over this team that I did the past two years.
What happened in 2003 made me hungry. The last two years I have cajoled, prayed, pleaded, yelled, thrown stuff, pissed off my girlfriend on more than a couple occasions, figured out scenarios on scrap paper all with the hopes and dreams of another playoff run that would hopefully bring (at least) a World Series appearance.
I’ll celebrate a little the next time they win the division or the wild card, but I’ll definitely be in a mode of “give me something more” before I get swept up again like I did in ’03, ’07 and ’08.
That something more for me is a World Series appearance. I went to school in Missouri. I have relatives there. Cubs, you have to Show Me.

P.S. It’s going to take a special group to break all the negativity that surrounds this team (especially in the playoffs). Piniella’s assertion that it doesn’t matter what happened 100 years ago is DEAD WRONG! Because every time this team gets in the playoffs, there are hundreds of questions. Every time something goes wrong in a playoff game, there’s this “OH SHIT” feeling that permeates the stands – with good reason. There’s going to be pressure, immense pressure for every Cubs team that makes it to the playoffs. It’s going to take a group of players who are immune to that pressure and can perform within it.

  18. ksmc2000 Says:

    Al,

That leaves this bunch out. In two post-seasons, they failed miserably.

I won’t be watching any more playoffs this year. I’m taking a break from baseball. I put too much into the 2008 season emotionally to have it end the way it did. The cocksuckers may have ruined the football season for me also. Fuck the Cubs!!!

  19. Nemo Says:

If the Cubs didn’t believe in the curse they wouldn’t have had priests doing secret de-cursing rituals in the dugout. They win 97 games and have NO FUCKING CONFIDENCE IN THEMSELVES!!!! Grand slam early in Game one and they crumple like an old newspaper. stop believing in curses you FUCKING PUSSIES!!!

I am NOT ANXIOUS for next year. If I can convince my wife to drop this team, we will not have anything to do with them until they win a playoff series.

To win a playoff game (let alone a series) THIS TEAM NEEDS TO BE BROKEN UP!!!! They had a shot at it two years in a row and choked badly both times. Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano have not a single RBI in either playoff series-THEY SHOULD BE GONE!!! Fuck Theriot too! Fukudome should be a late inning defensive replacement only. Zambrano should be traded. The release of Howry and Cotts really doesn’t need to be mentioned. I don’t care if the Cubs aren’t as good next year. it’s 100 officially now. 101 or 103 makes little difference. They need players who can perform in the postseason. Trade for those who can or for high level prospects. eat salaries. get rid of the fucking deadwood.

btw, Boston Red Sox manager Grady Little took the Red Sox to the playoffs two years in a row, lost game 7 of the alcs to the yankees AND GOT FIRED. Fired!!! For leaving in Pedro Martinez too long in game 7. THAT’S ALL IT TOOK. Piniella has badly mismanaged two consecutive postseasons much worse than Little. fuck that contract extension-he should be fired IMMEDIATELY. A real team that really wanted to win, with a real general manager would take care of this situation properly-not prematurely award contract extensions.

BTW, although the Cubs think they have milked us for all the money they can, they are wrong. I am prepared to spend thousands of dollars on Cubs merchandise after a world series win. And a similar amount on tickets-even from their official ticket scalping service. I know I am not the only one. They are fucking losing a lot of revenue by their fucking incompetence, superstition, and erectile dysfunction. This was not a special season-it was a massive disappointment. The no-hitter was a consolation prize you get when you lose on a game show-not bad, but not even close TO WHAT YOU REALLY WANT.

    FUCK THE CUBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Nemo Says:

    PS-

As much as I hate that toothpick chomping, excuse-making fuck Dusty Baker, the fucker WON the only post season series the Cubs have won in 100 years. Took a team with a lot less talent than this team and upset a heavily favored Braves team, winning game 5 on the road. And getting withing 5 outs of the world series. That’s a lot more than Piniella has done.

  21. ksmc2000 Says:

Next year will be a new era for this team. There will be new ownership that must pay all of the backloaded contracts of these underachievers. Soriano’s contract will be an anchor that will hang around the new owners neck for a long time, with no return of investment. Ramirez showed how clutch he is in the post-season also. Hendry should be the first one to go. What the fuck are they suppose to do with the 36 mil owed to Fuckudummy?

  22. captain1kirk Says:

I believe it all starts with Wrigley Field the ultimate monument to losers. Time for a change get out of Wrigley and start a new tradition somewhere else. Let the Billy Goats graze in the outfield. The Cubs have never won a WS in that place.

Back up the truck on players that cannot perform in the big games, How many years are we going to watch this shit? SorryO4PlayoffsNo is just one example. Last year we had Lily losing it this year it was D Lee. Lets get some new faces these beloved Cubs had their chance and blew it. This series like last years was PATHETIC.

Let get on with the sale. I have not been able to stand the Tribune’s mis-management for a long time. Can we get rid of Hendry or should we pay homage to a moron who can spend 400 million and get a team to the playoffs??? Cubs salary 118 million Tampa Bay 43 million. I am lead to believe that this game is more complex than throwing money at the problem. The greedy ass Tribune knew that the value of the Cubs rose if they were winners. So we wrap up name ball players for years like Soriano that put up season stats but are losers.

I have stayed with my no merchandise, no Wrigley approach until we go to the WS and I will stick with that. I will go visit other parks to see my games. I am not interested in pissing in the trough and watching a game in the monument to losers with rich snobish sheeple.

As for Fuckudummy maybe he can open a Sushi bar.

  23. robert Says:

players I want gone next year..

    derek dp lee
daryl I am going to pull into an all you can eat buffet ward
kosuke i am the japanese corey patterson fucking dummy
    blow job howry
    larry cockroach child

players I want signed derek lowe and brian fuentes
get a real lead off hitter and I aint talking piss head pierre…
move soriano into the three hole where he can do some real damage..

    anyone else got an opinion

  24. robert Says:

nemo lets look at the 03 team they had a leadoff hitter who had been through the wars before in kenny lofton

  25. Nemo Says:

The value of a good leadoff hitter cannot be overestimated.

  26. Nemo Says:

but experience can be overestimated. DeRosa, Ramirez, Lee, Soriano, all have many years of playoff experience and you can see what that got us-lots of flailing away in desperation. almost EVERYONE on the team has two years of postseason experience and it meant squat. Tampa is up 2-0 and has never been to the playoffs.

  27. chucky Says:

That’s a good start Robert. Personally, though, I think it is time to back the moving truck in and completely start over. The experiment is over. It failed. Now it’s time to clean up the mess.

Instead of the players who go, my list is the who should stay:

    1) Soto- I really like this kid. Great player to build around.

    2) Fontenot- May not be a starter, but his value as a backup or spot starter is tremendous.

3)Dempster- For a guy who I personally ripped a new body orifice on a daily basis a year ago, he has completely turned it around and produced a great year in new role. And he maintained a lot class and digity throughout. I would definetely want him on my team.

    There might a few others.

But the rest of this team, as far as I am concerned, can go fuck themselves. Lee, Ramirez, Fuc-U-Do-Me, Soriano, Theriot, DeRosa, all of them I want gone. The problem is,of course, are the back ended contracts Moe Hendry signed these jag-offs to. So get Moe a one-way ticket out of town too.

And yes, Rothschild can go too. Stupid bastard can go to the Reds and destroy pitching arms with Baker like the old days.

  28. genrebuster Says:

Clearly, this group of players…and this manager…did not have what it takes to win a World Series. Given how the Cubs played in September, I am not surprised at the outcome, just surprised that the end came so quickly…and with no apparent struggle.

Amen brother Al. That has been a hot topic as the dust settles.

It is NO MISTAKE that the 2 hottest NL teams during the month of September — the Dodgers and the Phillies — have moved on to the NLCS. They both deserve to be there.

The Cubs were lousy in September, they didn’t play to win — the played NOT TO LOSE. Guess what, that didn’t work this time and it rarely does. In fact, whoever ok’d the idea to have priests in the dugout deserves a stiff kick in the groin…or a punch in the throat. The whole idea of a curse is NONSENSE. The fans who attended Game 1 and gave in to the fear of losing by going silent should be ashamed of themselves. The least the sheeple could have done was go BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH…hell, maybe that would have embarrased the players to at least get pissed off. BETTER TO PLAY ANGRY THAN SCARED. Fucking ninnies. Fucking Cubbies.

As Kirk pointed out, there’s more to winning a Championship than spending a bunch of money (for an example see “Florida Marlins”). Jim Hendry should finally step up to the plate and offer his resignation…because he has failed miserably. I still believe he should have been fired after 2005, along with Baker (actually, Baker should have been fired after 2004, following the Grady Little example). As for Lou’s contract extension, what a PATHETIC joke and completely uncalled for: unless he wins it all next year (yeah, right), I hope he’ll retire…at this point, I wouldn’t be sorry to see him go…even before next season.

It seems clear that the old ways just don’t work, not with the Cubs. A COMPLETE HOUSECLEANING is in order, I agree with chucky’s assessment of who should be kept, I think there may be a few other players worthy of consideration but I’ll save that for later.

Once again, A-Ram, Derek Lee and Soriano are mere posers…when it’s crunch time, these guys just disappeared. I’d be happy to see them all disappear from the Cubs…for good. In fact, the Soriano contract alone should be Hendry’s ticket out of town…what a fucking dumbass GM (Furcal contributing what he did seems rather poetic now, huh Jimbo?). NEWSFLASH: Soriano is a PATHETIC leadoff hitter.

Dear Sam Zell: There is NOTHING more to milk out of this PATHETIC franchise…the opportunity of a 100 year celebration has come and gone, and guess what there was no party…have we finally reached the bottom? Have you finally made enough $$$? I hope so, because then maybe you and the GREEDY, SCUM SUCKING OWNERSHIP group will finally release their FILTHY CLAWS from this team…and sell to an ownership that is BASEBALL SAVVY and puts winning EQUAL with turning a huge profit. The fans deserve it. Fans don’t deserve a bunch of greedy cocksuckers running a newspaper calling the shots…which has been the case for years. Enough already.

There are some who will disagree with this, but at this point the 100 year drought definitely matters. It affects the players, the management, and the fans. Hell, even the media can’t stop talking about it. From a fan standpoint, if you grew up in Chicago and come from a long line of Cubs fans, it’s different than if you live far away and watch the team from a “comfortable distance”.

As for me, I have been a “fan from a distance” since 1989, when the Cubs blew it against the Giants, just 5 years after the Padres came back from 0-2 to win a 5 game series — remember that one? BARF

In 2003 I became more involved late in the season but living in NC makes it different than being in Chicago. I honestly thought that 2003 was “rock bottom” for the Cubs…I guess I was wrong (again).

To witness a repeat of last years GUTLESS, PATHETIC performance was surprising to me…even from the Cubs. I thought the players might have learned something from last year…and Lou, too. I guess I was wrong (again).

Kirk posted: “Let get on with the sale. I have not been able to stand the Tribune’s mis-management for a long time. ****************************************
I’m with Kirk on that, and my “no merch, no Wrigley” stance mirrors his. It works for me but I am not passing judgment on those who choose to spend their hard-earned dollars on the Cubs…it’s your money.

It is ironic that Dusty Baker–the toothpick chomping idiot who in some ways brought us all together– was able to achieve something that Lou couldn’t–win a playoff game. In fact, as Nemo pointed out…Dusty actually won a playoff series!

    PATHETIC!

No more “100 years”, no more “tick tock”…because now it doesn’t matter. The milestone has been reached.

I’ll start paying closer attention when the team is sold and Hendry is fired. Same for Lawrence Rothschild, what a hack. Lou is out of touch, if he’s here for another year, if he goes, who cares…they should clean house player-wise regardless. The current crew doesn’t have it.

I really enjoyed reading all the post series comments from everybody, Thank You. That’s all I got for now, BE WELL everybody! — SS

  29. Nemo Says:

    From Ryan Dumpster:
“I know everyone wants answers and everyone wants to search deep to the core of the center of the earth to find them,” Dempster said. “But the bottom line is we just got outplayed. We got outplayed, we got outscored, they played better defense than us and they pitched better than us.

Ok, thank you very much Mr. Dumpster for being a master of the obvious. EVERYONE KNOWS the reason you lost is because you were OUTPLAYED IN EVERY FACET OF THE GAME.

  30. Nemo Says:

But what we want to know is WHY A “SUPERIOR” TEAM “just got outplayed.”
Tell us the truth! You have no heart? Your morale was easily shaken? You are quitters? You couldn’t handle the pressure? You have no discipline? You have no ability to adust? You have no patience? You have the psychological fortitude of the French seeing the Germans come across the Maginot Line? You were blackmailed into losing so your teamwide gay prostitution ring wouldn’t get exposed? Or are you just scared of curses?

You know, every episode of Scooby-Doo EVER, Scooby and the gang believed the ghosts and curses WERE REAL. However, by the end of THIRTY MINUTES they figured out it was all smoke and mirrors and outwitted the bad guys and captured them. Maybe you guys need to watch a little Cartoon Network?
