Bears lose in typical Bears fashion.

Dumb special teams? Sure. How about your long snapper calling an audible on a punt play on your own 30? Smooth move.

Dumb coaching? How about challenging that fake punt in thinking your opponent had an extra man on the field? The Packers indeed out coached the Bears coaches.

The defense played well until the last drive. Nice job by Kevin Payne and Nathan Vasher letting Greg Jennings be open by ten yards.

The offense: At least two of Cutler’s four interceptions were because the wide receivers ran the wrong routes. Don’t get me wrong. Cutler sucked a fat one but it wasn’t completely his fault. Desmond Clark dropped an easy touchdown pass in the 2nd quarter and that followed by Cutler’s second pick. The running game couldn’t get going either. If you can’t run the ball consistently, that will force you to throw more.

Next up: The Steelers at home. Reader and fellow NIU man Dave mentioned in the previous article that this team could easily start 0-2. I honestly think after they start 0-2, there shouldn’t be a reason to panic. Their schedule is somewhat favorable. Although it is “Any Given Sunday” and I was fucking pissed after the first game, I am not going to push the “Panic” button.

Your thoughts in the thread.

*Update Monday morning*
Brian Urlacher is going to have wrist surgery today and is out for a while. Pisa Tinoisamoa is out for a while too with a sprained knee. Now is it too early to press the “Panic” button? Fuck. Fuck. FUCK!

Glad to see my Packers prevail over our hated rivals the Monsters of the Midway, but the Bears should have won the game.

They outplayed us on both the offensive and defensive lines. The only reason the Pack won were the turnovers, you eliminate the turnovers and the Bears win 24 – 12.

I don’t like McCormick’s offensive play calling, but I do like Capers defensive schemes, it looks a lot better than last years. Still, Rodgers is shakey and the offensive line just flat out stinks.

I think the Bears beat the Steelers next week. They needed to get the kinks out of their game, but they’ll be ready next week, you watch. However, if Urlacher is out for any period of time, they’re going to struggle.

“McCormick’s” ???? I guess I need to get my mind right. I meant McCarthy.

    Damnit Ernie!

How dare you make a typo. Now Irish Yeti is going to come in here and start making fun of you and call you an idiot.

I worry about the Packers if they don’t find another lineman to replace Alan Barbre; he was getting eaten alive out there. Ted Thompson does his best Moe Hendry impression and ignores the fact that Mark Tauscher is still out there. But a Packer win is a win. Fro, Keith, and the rest of you Bear fans- don’t feel too bad, they will win their share of games this year. Cutler had an off night, but the D is scary good. But the Packer’s D looked pretty damn good as well.

Latest is Urlacher is out for the season.

I just read that article from the Chicago Tribune. I think we all were high on the season getting underway and with the defense playing great until late, you almost thought this team was a serious contender. Now, our best defensive player is out for the year.

Yes. We are fucking screwed. However, only one thing is positive: If the Bears can just find a way to get into the playoffs, it is anyone’s game.

It was definately Black Monday. I had the day off and moped around like a lost puppy. My girlfriend said if my face got any longer she’d be stepping on it. I could deal with the loss to the Packers, but losing Urlacher for the season along with three others that will miss at least four weeks took the wind right out of the sails.

I called the Score 670 Monday night. I told Laurence Holmes (host of the show) how pumped I was before the game started. I had football on the TV all day at work then I got home and was excited. A few friends came over and we were having a good time.

After that game though, I felt down that we lost. It wasn’t the fact that it was the Packers but the fact that one play decided it. Then I find out during lunch time that Urlacher is out for the season. This one hurts.

If Grossman starts the Bears Win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Jerry Angelo is an idiot for not getting at least one reciever!!!
Anybody talk to Marvin Harrison??? I think he at least knows how to run a route.
