An open letter to JIm Hendry can u please do us all a favor and resign it would be the best gift you can give us….

Your new nickname is march due to the fact you came in like a lion and are leaving like a lamb some of the stunts you have pulled during your reign
    4 years of dusty
signing milton bradley to a 3 year contract
    2 years of latoya

I bet you truly loved this offseason so you can have an excuse as you fail to do your job as usual…

    well fuck off and resign
    y

  2. genrebuster Says:

…don’t forget Jackoff Jones and Kevin Fucking Gregg!

  3. robert Says:

john grabow is doing his best to get matt capps to the cubs I am glad to hear that after all the success they contributed to in pittsburgh

  4. robert Says:

can someone tell me where jason bere and jeff fassero are on this list

    http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/league-of-her-own/2009/12/worst-cubs-of-the-decade-a-photo-retrospective.html

  5. chucky Says:

Robert… She had Antonio Alfonseca listed as “possibly the worst closer in Cub history” at number 1, yet the run-away winner of that prize Kevin Gregg is number 4? Doesn’t make much sense to me. While I agree that Alfonseca blew dog, Gregg made him look like a Hall of Famer.

  6. robert Says:

that chick is so stupid she wrote that the cubs should have kept milton bradley and seen what they could have gotten out of that siging…that idiot makes carrie douchebag seem inteligent

  7. robert Says:

ps where was hendrys boy toy michael barrett on that list

  8. chucky Says:

There is a lot more that should have/could have made that list. The problem is when you look back at over 100 years of bullshit players, coming up with a list of the worst 12 is next to impossible.

  9. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

    Merry Christmas to all!

As far as that link that Robert gave, that lady is fucking retarded to put Alfonseca as the worse. Apparently, she must have forgot how awful Latroy was. Unless she was too busy being one of those sluts who walk around Wrigley in her tank top sipping beer like the rest of them.

Just read on espn.com that Washington signed Capps. Another loss by our useless crap of a general manager we have.

  10. robert Says:

Matt when I first came on the original fdb site i praised dusty and loathed Hendry…Got Criticism due to the fact some of the people said if hendry hadnt had the sammy sosa thing hanging over his head in the 04 offseason he would have done something…you know with the exception of the 06 offseason where zell told him to spend spend spend spend spend spend what the fuck has he done to improve the cubs….I forgot he did do something this offseason he picked up that rule 5 guy from the cardinals…and started to undo his mess from last offseason..before you say no do you think hendry will get so desperate for someone out of the bull pen he will sign kevin gregg b4 you say no remember this is hendry we are talking about

  11. MadCityMac Says:

Kevin Gregg, Latoya, and that six-fingered piece of shit Alfonseca all make me want to vomit; I can’t rank such piles of shit!

Happy Holidays to all, and thank you Fro and Keith for keeping things up and operational for us! Oh, and Go Bears Monday night against the dysfunctional Vi-queens! I want more than anything to see #4 and Chilly get into it on the sidelines again!

  12. Fro Dog Says:

    Mike,

I appreciate the kind words. And yes, it is nice to see Favre self-destruct the Vikings organization just like he did to the Packers and Jets. I thought it would have started much earlier this year but better late than never. Everybody knows that the attention whore is trying to run everything his way rather than the coaches.

It would be nice to see the Bears pull one out on Monday night. But these are the Bears we are talking about.

  13. chucky Says:

First of all….Happy Holidays, fitness friends.

Fro and Mike…. I can’t really agree with you guys about the upcoming Bear-Vigueen game next Monday. If by some act of God the Bears win that could be just enough cause for the senile old bag Virginia McCaskey to keep Lovie and company around one more year. I’m actually hoping the Bears lose by 40+ points against Minnesota and Detroit. I can guarantee this much; if they do lose that badly in the next two games the heat in Chicago will be so intense they’ll have to fire all the coaches, even if they have to pay Lovie $100 million. And let’s face it…those idiots need to go.

And speaking of head coaches that need to be fired, does anybody know why Vinny Del Bevington is still employed by the Bulls?

  14. Fro Dog Says:

    Chucky,

I thought I was the only Bulls fan on this site. Glad to know I have company. I thought Vinny was going to get fired Thursday. Although he is a bad coach, you can’t really blame him. That team has tanked. And plus, blame the wonderful owner, Reinsdorf for hiring him and not Doug Collins at the time.

I can actually say that I think Reinsdorf wanted to give up this season just to try to get one of the free agents in 2010.

  15. chucky Says:

    Fro

I don’t really know how much of a Bulls fan I am. I was a huge fan of them during the M. Jeff years. Especially after Rodman came in. That season where they went 72-10 was the most fun I had watching any sports team. When that team was split up they became the boring, dull team on the planet. I think the most fitting image I have of that era is of Phil Jackson riding off into the sunset on his brand new Harley. I knew it was going to be a long time before they got back to a level anywhere close to that again.

And in reality, they aren’t close now. I like Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, but that’s it really. Nobody else on that team is truly worth a damn. And Vinny is in way over his head. I just hope doesn’t destroy those two guys.

Much the same way Lovie Smith has destroyed Jay Cutler.

    Happy Holidays fitness friend.

  16. robert Says:

With the diamondbacks signing of Bob howry I hope we dont have to face there bullpen with heilmann and howry

  17. Nemo Says:

If the Cubs sets their sights on a box of shit as their top free agent signing, they would still get outbid by somebody else who doesn’t really want it.

  18. ksmc2000 Says:

    Fro,

I’m a Bulls fan also, but since the championship runs, it’s been diffucult to watch these days. I go back to the days of Bob Love, Chet Walker, Tom Boerwinkle, Norm Van Lier, etc. Paxson is in way over his head in an executive position, and it’s showing on the court.

With the Bears sucking shit this year, I turned most of my sports attention to the Blackhawks. It really pisses me off that I can’t get hardly any TV coverage up here in Wisconsin. WGN carries most games that are not on Comcast, but it’s WGN local only. I have to settle for whatever I can scrape up on Verses and NBC. At least the Blackhawks website has alot of game highlights and interviews. I listen to them on WGN Radio all the time, but it’s not the same.

  19. Fro Dog Says:

    Keith,

I have a website or two that you can watch just about any game of any of the major sports on your computer for free. Just click and play without downloading any software. If you want the link, just let me know and I can email it to you.

  20. MadCityMac Says:

I called it! Although I didn’t think Favre would bring the ‘queens back the way he did, I had a gut feeling that the Bears were going to win that game. And don’t worry guys, I think the decision, whatever it is, has already been made about Mrs. Howell’s future, win or lose last night.

    Happy New Year to all!

  21. genrebuster Says:

“We’ve got a new group, a young group, still trying to find their way and get together and get in sync. Unfortunately, it’s taken a lot longer than what we wanted.” — Ron Turner

The garbage continues to pile up in Chicago.

  22. Fro Dog Says:

    Mike,

Good call on the game. I actually thought the Bears were going to blow it. I just don’t want this to be the game that “saves” Lovie’s job. That would piss me off. The house still needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. It was also nice to see Favre lose again. He is trying to ruin a third organization in less than three years.

    Genre,

Turner is fucking retarded. What the hell took so long for the Bears offense to look like an actual offense? Well the answer was simple: No Devin Hester on the field. Ruining Devin Hester’s career is another reason why the Bears brass should all be given their pink slips next week.

  23. Sandberg23 Says:

    Fro,

  24. Sandberg23 Says:

    Fro,

Or how about having Aramashodu on the inactive list for weeks, not getting a chance to play until an injury to Hester forced them to have to put him on the field.

  25. Fro Dog Says:

    Sandberg23,

Yes. Aromoshodu not being on the field was another problem. I am not one of these idiots screaming that he should be a starter for next season or that he is a number one receiver. However, you don’t know if a player is good or not unless he is on the field and put in a position to succeed.

  26. ksmc2000 Says:

    Thanks Fro,

Could you send those links via Kris’s e-mail address. I had my computer re-worked and don’t have everything back up yet. Her address is: dogmom@charter.net.

Nice to see the Bears finally show up and play with some heart. The biggest mistake Angelo and Lovie made was trying to make a wide reciever out of Hester. Just put him back at what he does best and hope they didn’t fuck that up too. Cutler was lobbying for Aromashodu since training camp. I also thought cutting Brandon Rideau was stupid too.

  27. robert Says:

Is it just me or does anyone else think hendry might be dumb enough to sign Rick Ankiel and said he got his outfielder and abullpen pitcher in player

  28. chucky Says:

I do Robert. Hell, I expect it.

I know alot of people are happy about the Bears win last night. I’m not among them. I was scared to death that it would fuel the arguement for retaining Lovie Baker and his staff. And sure as shit, some people fell for it. I’m at the point right now that I want Lovie shit-canned more than Dusty Baker. Whoever thinks this shit is going to change next year with the current regime is high as a kite.

    Not going to happen people.

  29. robert Says:

    she did another list

    http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/league-of-her-own/2009/12/most-hated-cubs-of-the-decade-a-loho-album.html

Neifi jaques jones jose macias are on there now where are some of the other fabulous baker boys like Tom Goodwin or Ramon Martinez

  30. chucky Says:

I like the “picture” of Todd Hundley.

  31. chucky Says:

Oh, Robert…one question. Why was Dusty himself left off the list? Did a guy have to be an active player to be included? I would think Baker might have been more hated than Moises Alou. Which when you think about it is quite an accoplishment.

  32. chucky Says:

    Fro

Just read that “Dr. Death” Steve Williams died last night at the age of 49 from throat cancer.

He was a true legit tough guy.

  33. robert Says:

chucky go to http://www.rfvideo.com click wrestling newsline and click the most recent update for a picture of the man it shows what cancer can do to you

  34. genrebuster Says:

Old news but still pisses me off that the Bradley saga lasted as long as it did. FIRE JIM HENDRY. “Too little too late” sums up his efforts.

(paraphrased, check out the video) “The players applauded when Hendry gave them the news that Milton Bradley had been suspended for the rest of the season… ”

http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=chc (video corner, Muskat discussing Bradley, top right of page)

  35. Fro Dog Says:

Thanks for the news Chucky. Just read the information. That really sucks what happened. That’s too young.

  36. chucky Says:

Wow Robert. That picture is downright gruesome. I have no idea if he was a smoker or not, but I was. For about 30 years. I quit 2 years ago after a 4 day stint in the hospital for appendicitis. I’m still battling the cravings on a almost daily basis. But seeing a picture like that really makes me glad I stayed with it. I don’t mean to sound preachy, and if I am I apologize. But that picture is terrifying to someone like me.

  37. robert Says:

Chucky I smoked for 15 years just quit september 8th I used chantix to quit …I was always able to hide it from my 3 year old one day I went outside to have a cig and my wife new I did not want my daughter seeing me smoke and she sent her out to go find daddy…called the dr 2 days later and made an appointment started chantix the 4th quit the 8th…the only side effects I had were sone weird and I do mean weird dreams

  38. chucky Says:

Keep it up. I can tell you from personal experience it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do in your life. Seriously, I’d rather just put a fucking gun to my head than go through that misery again.

They gave me the patch in the emergency room because despite all the intense pain I was in I was going to have a cigarette. I didn’t care. I basically blacked out from the painkillers around 5 PM. I woke up the next morning and decided to just keep going with the patch. I haven’t looked back since.

So good luck to you Robert. I hope you stay with it.
