Dale Sveum’s response to Soriano not running it out on Saturday:
“You hit a ball that hard and you see (that) they should catch (it), and you’re mad because you just crushed the ball,” Cubs manager Dale Sveum said. “THERE IS NOT A PLAYER THAT EVER PLAYED THAT WOULDN’T HAVE DONE THE VERY SAME THING.”
… That sounds like a Quadeism. I hope they’re just defending him because they don’t want to hurt any possible trade value he’d have. Otherwise, it looks like the same thing with Quade: Nobody is held responsible… except Starlin Castro.
I’m only tangentially paying attention, but I am definitely not happy with Sveum.
I see the Flubs knocked the Sox out of first tonight and with a win tomorrow would sweep the series at Comiskey. When your team is as pathetic as the Cubs are that would mean a lot to me. Maybe I’ll actually watch the game.

9th inning down 7-3. Bases loaded. Nobody out. Need a pinch hitter. Right-handed pitcher.
David DeJesus or Bryan LaHair?

Sveum is a moron! I know this team sucks but when the best players don’t play, that rests on the manager.

Yeah. They could’ve also pinch hit for Reed Johnson or Darwin Barney too. I just don’t get it.

The good news is if Sveum keeps it up, he’ll get the axe sooner rather than later.
In other news, these sounds were heard emanating from Ricketts’ headquarters earlier this evening: “baaaaaaaah baaaaaaaaaah baaaaaaaaaaah”
