a. Jim Hendry
b. Alfonso Soriano’s contract
(The Soriano drawing appears at Cubbie-Blue, Chicago artist Tim Souers’ blog about what it feels like to be a Cub’s fan)
Just saw this: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1239460-new-york-mets-five-hitters-they-should-consider-trading-for-by-july-31/page/4
Soriano to the Mets? I vote YES.

A National League team wants Alfonso Soriano? They won’t mind him in the outfield or his .300-or-worse OBP? Be my guest.

Easy. Hendry is more bloated, by far. That’s not to say that Sorianos contract isn’t bloated, it is. It’s just that Moe is that much more bloated.
And I still want to kick that bastard right in the nuts!

I agree. When you add up all of Hendry’s decisions, Soriano’s contract is just one piece of the damage…

Sorry for this, but I need to change the subject here for a minute.

I generally don’t agree with, or even very much like Dan McNeil these days, but he hit this one out of the park.

I’ll tell you this much, I will celebrate the day when that stupid, pompous, overbearing piece of shit is flushed down the memory hole forever!

We can now resume with our regularly scheduled program.

God-fucking-damnit!!!!!!!!!! Somebody please hit Carlos Marmol in the head with a piece of heavy mining equipment! He’s all over the fucking place!
June 29, 2012 at 8:34 pm
Can I PLEASE punch Hendry and Soriano in the throat just once?!? I really need to take out all this pent-up hostility on someone deserving. And the entire Ricketts family? Yeah, I could take a few shots at those flaming assbags as well!

Mac, the light is green!

chucky, I had no luck opening the link, and I am not paying those incompetent former Cubs owning, no decent TV programming fucktards for the privilege of reading their article, so someone will just have to give me a thumbnail sketch of what Dan McNeil said.
That being said…the White Sox proved they can hit, the Cubs won by shutout (OMFG!!!) and the Fire are on a WINNING STREAK (won their third straight game)…
http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-06-29-kc-v-chi/highlights
And IRT the original question, I would love to see an article where either Hendry or Soriano are homeless and broke, five years after they leave baseball…
June 30, 2012 at 4:10 pm
DVX…..I’m sorry. I didn’t know that would happen. And I don’t blame you for not paying them anything. Try this instead.

It doesn’t have the whole article, but at the bottom there is a link that will take there, no charge. If that doesn’t work, let me know. I’ll cut and paste the whole article for you.

Thanks, chucky…but the article was just about Dan bitching about Chris Berman. Not that ESPN has any serious issues or anything…
Aaand the Cubs sweep the Astros. Wonderful.
To quote Bill Uecker from “Major League II”:
“Welcome back to Major League Baseball…sort of…”
People paid good money to watch the worst two teams (worst W-L records and worst ownership-management) in Major League Baseball. What bullshit. MLB prices for Double A talent.
Did I mention that this sport is run by a used car salesman?

DVX, having grown up in Wisconsin, I’m torn. I really hate Selig for being a mouthpiece for the owners, but he did help bring baseball back to Wisconsin. That said, I hate the guy. I will give him credit for one thing, and one thing only- interleague baseball. Amazingly, that even seems to be taking a dump lately. Selig barred Mark Cuban from buying the Cubs, and I will NEVER forgive him for that. For that, we have FanBoy fucking everything up possible on the Northside and I want him and his idiot fucking family to go away.. Okay, I hate Bud Selig!!!!

DVX….Yeah, I know he was bitching about Berman. That was my point. At least somebody is saying this. I’ve hated Berman for years, and been wishing that someone would disembowel him with a wooden cooking spoon. Not only is he going to destroy the opening week of the NFL season but next Monday is the MLB home run derby. Loudmouth Berman will ruin that too. I’ll have to mute my TV and listen to something else.
