Rockets fans, he’s all yours. The Bulls won’t be able to match their offer for a three year, $24.3 million offer. What you see is what you get. That is a 7’0 guy who can’t pass, shoot or hold onto the ball. I think he can run up and down the court so that’s something.
I didn’t think any other team was dumb enough to sign this guy; let alone, for $8 million on average per year. Omer, best of luck in your future endeavors. Good riddance.

I can’t believe the $ some of these GMs throw around. Why $8 million for a one-dimensional player? He’s not THAT good on D is he?

One-dimensional? You’re being way too kind. Then, people try to wonder why all the major sports leagues are in financial turmoil (lockouts, revenue sharing issues, etc.). It’s because the owners/general managers cave into player’s requests for a shitload of money. Look at the NFL for example. Dan Snyder, who owns the Redskins is a prime example of an idiot who throws money at mediocre players and this drives up the value of players that are actually good.
When PATHETIC players like Asik get this kind of money, it drives up the value of players that are actually good in the NBA as well. It won’t stop until teams (in all sports) stop being so stupid and offering more money for players than what they are actually worth.

Rockets fans gotta be pissed. They were the center of trade rumors for Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard up through draft day. Instead, they get the consolation prize: An $8 million per year relationship with Omer Asik.
Good luck with that one, Houston.

Well, said, Fro Dog.
It is also time for these idiot management groups (owners/GMs/team presidents, etc) to do some ACTUAL FUCKING RESEARCH before offering mediocre players insane amounts of money to be bums. Did the clowns in Houston NOT see Asik’s series killing performance against the Sixers? Do people not look at game tapes? Do people not find out WTF is up with players anymore? Is there ANYTHING in Asik’s career resume/personal profile that says he can be a valuable leader or role player in a championship team?
