What was your favorite Lovie Smith moment?

by

Adios!

On the eve of Lovie Smith’s firing (just being optimistic), I am asking you, my loyal readers of how you will remember Lovie Smith the most? Here is just a sample size of the many moments that he can be remembered for:

1. Firing Ron Rivera and hiring his friend, Bob Babich as defensive coordinator after the Super Bowl loss.

2. Trading Chris Harris when he was somewhat decent in training camp and letting Adam Archuleta and others suck on secondary.

3. Ruining Devin Hester’s career by trying to make him a wide receiver.

4. Telling the media constantly that his team “had a good week of practice” and that “we have a good football team”.

5. Refusing to stop Ron Turner from calling pass play after pass play in the Super Bowl loss which led to the Bears losing.

6. 2008 – A 3-3 start that could have easily been, 6-0 but thanks to dumb decisions by both Lovie and his players, it didn’t happen. The Bears failed to clinch a playoff spot on the last day of the season.

I know I forgot many but I’ll leave it to you guys. Entertain (or depress) me.

“Yesterday’s game was a must-game for the NFC North championship, but besides that, it wasn’t a must-game with what can happen for our season,” Smith said at his press conference on Monday. “This week it is a must game.”

Bears win out. Miss the playoffs. So…

  2. Mike Says:

Any morons that use half their time outs because they can’t get a play in on time should be fired..
Any management that can’t put together an offensive over several seasons should be fired..
    Fuck it…fire the water boy!

Fro….My favorite moment of the Lovie reign of error has not yet happened. It will be his post-shitcan press conference when he tries to spin his “accomplishments” more than kid spinning a top at 100 miles per hour. Then it’ll be when that worthless shitstain motherfucker drives out of Halas Hall for the very last time.

    Buh-Bye ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. DVXPrime Says:

    It bears repeating:

2003: Lovie’s first press conference after getting hired, saying that beating the Packers was a prioirty.

2010: Packer 10, Bears 7. Torture porn football in which the Bears fail to eliminate their rivlas from the playoffs. Guess who beats the Bears at Soldier Field three weeks later, then wins the cheerleader-free Super bowl?

2012: Packers 21-Bears 13. Packers win a playoff-priority game at Soldier Field for the second time in two years (2011 NFC championship, this game award the pack the NFC division title and a playoff berth).

Stealing a bit from Pie in the Sky: “Yesterday’s game was a must-game for the NFC North championship, but besides that, it wasn’t a must-game with what can happen for our season,” Smith said at his press conference on Monday.

It’s only the oldest, longest running rivalry in the NFL…no biggie. And that division title and playoff berth the Bears just pissed away? Whay. me worry?

Here’s hoping Ed and Teddy-bear have taken this into account when they decide on Lovie’s future this week.

  6. Ryne Says:

There are so many to pick from…
First, the TE position. Lets trade away greg olsen for a 3rd rounder because he doesnt fit greg martz system, and then fire martz. And then tell us that Kellen Davis could be a great NFL TE. He is, without a doubt, in the top 1800.

Second, OL position. Obviously we will miss his keen eye for OL talent. Is there a T or G in college who had his legs amputated in a car accident recently? If so, you can guarantee he will be our #1 draft pick. And then we will find gems in the 7th round so that the OL whisperer, Mike Tice, can turn him into a toilet bowler.

Third, and this one is my favorite…his assessment of his “body of work” in an interview this morning. he said he respected it. Hmm, letrs see, when you were hired you said you had 2 jobs beat GB and win the SB. Hmm, ZERO Super Bowl Rings, 6 straight losses to GB, and 1 playoff appearance since in 6 years.

Fourth, your defensive “scheme.” Your Defense was great at stopping Bill Walsh’s system. newsflash, Bill’s dead. So is the Tampa 2. YOU ARE A DEFENSIVE EXPERT AND YOU CANT STOP THE BEST QB IN YOUR OWN DIVISION! And BTW, your scheme sucks.

Fifth… When you can have an offensive core of Cutler, Forte, Marshall, Hester and Bennett, and your teams best chance to score is when the D or ST is on the field, you are a coach with extraordinary talent. After all, we know the Giants, Patriots, Colts, Saints, Cardinals and packers all won their SBs with exceptional Defense and mildly acceptable offensive production.

Sixth, That you are able to produce no coherent offense, no consistent playoff appearances, no super bowl rings, and yet yo have your players under some jedi mind trance demanding they have your mediocre brain for another year. Have back forever me want Lovie

ANd lastly, that deer in the headlights look and tone whenever you speakl

  7. Fro Dog Says:

    Ryne,

“And then tell us that Kellen Davis could be a great NFL TE. He is, without a doubt, in the top 1800.”

I don’t know why, but that quote was humorous. Although one tiny error in your post, you put the Cardinals won the Super Bowl but they didn’t. It’s alright though. I get what you were saying. Great work on every point you made. Feel free to post here anytime.

  8. Neal McKay Says:

You waste a lot of your time over a team that doesn’t deserve any of your time!!!

  9. genrebuster Says:

Mine is the same as chucky’s.

  10. chucky Says:

Thanks for nothing Neal. Do you have anymore useless information for us?

  11. chucky Says:

Our long lasting nightmare has finally come to an end. The NFL network is reporting Lovie is fired.

DING DONG, THE BITCH IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get this miserable cocksucker out of the state!

  12. Montamabearsfan Says:

    JUDGEMENT DAY!!!!!
    Goodbye. You mother fucker

Your call was good and righteous FroDog

    He is gone

Drag your ass out and slither away

  13. genrebuster Says:

*cough cough* It’s NOT a waste of time Neal…we get results here, in case you didn’t know…do your research!!!!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

However, the time it took me to read your post could have been better spent.

Chew on this: baaaaaaah baaaaaaaaaaah baaaaaaaaah

  14. Fro Dog Says:

Hell yes we get results. The hits have been through the roof the last two days here. Holy crap. I might need to get a hold of Yeti so he can analyze these stats!

  15. Mike Says:

Firing Ron Riverea, Rex is our quarterback, Deven Hester as a number 1 receiver, and Kellen Davis can be a featured TE are my top picks.

For 7 years he could never manage the clock right. Wasted challenges and bad times out. Only the last 2 years did his challenges get better.

Who ever gets him will definitely have to use timeouts on an uncoordinated offense. Good riddance. I’ve been wanting him fired since he fired Ron Riverea.

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
