July 19, 2013 at 7:49 pm
Well, it is July 19th in Northern Illinois. What did you expect?
July 19, 2013 at 11:54 pm

Looks like Ryan Braun is finally getting his vacation, hope they take his MVP too. In other news, good job landing a job Nate “Nugget” Robinson.
July 22, 2013 at 6:19 pm
Garza has been traded to Texas for a third baseman and two other top prospects. About damn time! Now if they can just get rid of that overpaid, lazy left fielder and that piece of crap closer who can’t throw a strike that doesn’t leave the yard, then we’ll be much more happier!
July 22, 2013 at 6:40 pm
Matt….I’ll NEVER understand why they picked up that useless sack of shit for a closer again. Goddamn, wasn’t his last run here enough proof that he sucks massive goat dick?
AND THAT GODDAMNED SVEUM KEEPS PUTTING HIS WORTHLESS ASS OUT THERE!!!!!!!
July 22, 2013 at 7:34 pm
I am being paid to throw the games so we can get better draft picks next year.
July 22, 2013 at 8:07 pm
It’s working.
July 22, 2013 at 8:37 pm
Got back two pitchers and a left fielder. Nice.
July 22, 2013 at 9:38 pm
Dale, nice job my man…..what are you doing for Thanksgiving?
July 23, 2013 at 8:27 am
Wait, so Sveum shouldn’t put Gregg out there when he’s been mostly the Cubs’ most effective reliever?
But then you curse him when he puts shitty relievers out there?
Be consistent, dumbass
July 23, 2013 at 9:27 am
Yeti WINS! Yeti WINS! Yeti WINS!
And, the winner is “The Most Consistent Asshat” to ever post on this site…I believe there is much data to support his win (?).
For instance, he has been “sticking up” for Gregg (open to interpretation) since before he was released from the Cubs…and since his return.
Beside, this makes my head hurt: “he’s been mostly the Cubs’ most effective reliever?”…that phrase speaks for itself.
“Serviceable” just doesn’t cut it in my world. Dumbass.
July 23, 2013 at 9:56 am
Seriously, what don’t you like about him this year?
July 23, 2013 at 9:58 am
Yeti….if you quit posting your shit here the rest of the world would not find out how goddamned ignorant you are. Remember what I said a while ago about Gregg? They picked that piece of shit up off the scrap pile. The Dodgers cut him loose. But hell, in your bullshit fantasy world, Gregg is a Hall of Fame caliber pitcher.
Just shut the fuck up you dipshit. NOBODY here gives a shit about you or what you think. Be useful for a change and go back to mowing Yellons yard or go wash his car. Fucking moron.
July 23, 2013 at 10:00 am
Yeti….Seriously, what do you like about him?
On second thought, don’t answer. I don’t think I want to know.
July 23, 2013 at 10:07 am
I like that he has 19 Saves and only 2 Blown Saves. I like that the Cubs paid about nothing for him, and are likely going to trade him in the next week or so and get something useful back. I like that he’s been the only other decent reliever besides Russell. I like that, despite all preconceptions, he’s been damn good..
So, what don’t you like about him? and Sveum’s use of him?
July 23, 2013 at 10:19 am
OK Yeti…fair enough. I’ll give you the courtesy of a serious response. By the way, this is genrebuster…I’m posting as “Blow It Up” for now….becasue I’m so tired of the losing.
As I’ve said, I think there’s more to the complete story than stats…but, I just looked at Kevin F. Gregg’s stats…they do indicate that he has been far from horrible this year…and certainly a much better option than Marmol ever was.
I suppose I don’t like that he was put in the position to be closer of the Cubs (again). His previous tenure here was far from great. That said, I can’t blame him for accepting the job.
Since Gregg is not “the future” of the Cubs – my opinion – I’d rather see a young guy having a chance to grow into the role of closer; since they are going nowhere this year.
Obviously, I’ve had it with the Cubs.and their losing ways…what’s left of my patience is wearing thin.
BTW, I’m not asking for much in a closer…somebody along the lines of Mariano Rivera would be ok.
July 23, 2013 at 10:21 am
…at his peak!
July 23, 2013 at 10:21 am
Or they could use Gregg to trade for someone young…
July 23, 2013 at 10:24 am
That would be great. And yes, he has greatly exceeded my expectations.
July 23, 2013 at 11:37 am
the very first pitch he threw as a Cub years ago. And he didn’t do much to prove me wrong. I have as much trust in him getting the job done as I did with fucking Marmol. Zero. None. Yes, I know he’s been better this time around than his last shot with the Cubs. That isn’t saying much. Yes, I know a pitcher can have an off night. It’s happened far too often with Gregg to make me think he’ll ever be worth a damn. Yeah, they picked him for next to nothing. Did it ever occur to you that the reason they got so cheap is nobody else wanted the fucking hack? Trade him for someone young? Who the fuck wants him? Not a contending team. If they did want him, why did the Cubs find him in the unemployment line? 19 out 21 saves? Sounds good, but how many of those saves were 3 up, 3 down? Or maybe just one baserunner allowed? When he comes into the game in the 9th inning, I do not have faith in him to close out a game, especially with a 1 or 2 run lead. Anybody who does is too fucking stupid to remember to breathe. I don’t give a goddamn who it is. Whoever believes this idiot is “serviceable” is really setting the bar low. He’s got as much business pitching in the majors as I would have working in the pentagon.

I hate my computer. I’m seriously thinking of using it for a fucking boat anchor. This is my original post.
I hate him because he can’t be trusted. And I’ve been extremely consistant about it. I knew he’d be a disaster waiting to happen from the very first pitch he threw as a Cub years ago. Rumor has it that Soriano could be heading back to the Bronx. He’s owed $22 mil and they could end up eating at least $19 of that. Fine with me!
July 23, 2013 at 12:27 pm
Who is a good closer then?
Also, if no one worthwhile is on the unemployment line, how did the Cubs obtain Jim Edmonds in 2008? Oh yea, the Padres released him because he was terrible with them, remained unsigned for 5 days, the Cubs picked him up, and he was fantastic.
July 23, 2013 at 3:20 pm
They don’t have a “closer”. But anybody on the roster at the moment would be better than that dork Gregg. Like it or not.
And there’s a huge difference between Kevin Gregg and Jim Edmonds. Edmonds actually had talent. Gregg never did.
Anything else dipshit?
July 23, 2013 at 3:24 pm
Why is Yeti comparing a signing from 2008 to something now? They weren’t rebuilding that year. This year, they are. They could have brought someone up from AAA to be in the bullpen and if he ended up sucking too, at least find out right away. Gregg should be traded but will they get anything of actual significance in return? No.
July 23, 2013 at 11:08 pm
Carlos Marmol enters in 6th for L.A. against Toronto. Base hit…two pitches later…Home run. 1.2 innings for three runs, 2 hits, 2 walks and one strikeout.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
July 24, 2013 at 8:13 am
Sounds “serviceable” to me Matt.
July 24, 2013 at 8:39 am
You weren’t lying when you said you had no business working in the Pentagon
July 24, 2013 at 8:58 am
So, when Sveum uses all those guys “that are better than” Gregg, they blow the games, then FIRE SVEUM? Or do we yell at TheoJed for not providing the ballclub with players that could get guys out…
Yet, they had a guy this year, that up until this moment right now, has been able to get guys out, but you didn’t want the Cubs to use him?
What the fuck, dude?
July 24, 2013 at 9:43 am
One of the biggest problems with Cubs fans is that we’ve become accustomed to setting the bar low…
July 24, 2013 at 9:46 am
The day Soriano leaves Chicago is a day for MASSIVE celebration. What a HUGE waste of money; Hendry crapped his pants on that signing (too).
July 24, 2013 at 11:40 am
What the fuck indeed. What the fuck are thinking when you post your bullshit here? If you want to worship that four-eyed piece of shit, that’s your business. But don’t expect me or anybody else to agree with your dumb, sorry ass. You’re the only motherfucker stupid enough to defend him here. The fact that that doesn’t tell you something tells me that you are hopelessly fucking retarded. And I’m goddamned sick and tired of explaining this to you. Get the goddamned hell out of here Yeti. Take your fucking bullshit opinions to BleedCubbieBlue where it fucking belongs you stupid, ignorant cocksucker! I’m don’t arguing with a fucking fencepost.
July 24, 2013 at 12:05 pm
Do you not like glasses?
July 24, 2013 at 1:40 pm
I like glasses just fine. It’s YOU I don’t like.
July 24, 2013 at 1:40 pm
Along with just about everybody else.
July 24, 2013 at 3:11 pm
Im willing to share a tip with everyone who loves baseball. Stop watching the cubs and you will be much happier. No need to thank me, Good Luck!
July 24, 2013 at 3:14 pm
July 24, 2013 at 3:52 pm
Yeah, that’s right, let’s keep Soriano. After all, he’s the future of this team.
Yeti, if you stop posting, people will not find out how fucking ignorant you are. Seriously.
July 24, 2013 at 4:16 pm
Yes, A-Rod is an overpaid-overrated asshat, too. Was that your point?
cubs suck, Thank You for the wonderful advice…seriously!
July 25, 2013 at 12:01 am
Yeti…..you care to tell me why you think Gregg is a good pitcher now you dumb bastard?
Don’t ever disagree with me again. You’ll be wrong every fucking time.
Moron.
July 25, 2013 at 9:06 am
I do LOVE this Dale Sveum quote from the game yesterday:
Arizona chased Samardzija in the sixth by putting runners at first and third with two out. Goldschmidt greeted reliever Blake Parker with a line drive home run to left field, plating three runs to make it 6-5.
“At that time, you just wanted a fresh arm, but obviously that went over like a fart in a space suit,” Sveum said.
July 25, 2013 at 12:01 pm
Genre….was he talking about pulling Samardzija out of the game last night, or his managerial skills?
Or perhaps Kevin Greggs pitching skills? Maybe it’s Yeti’s knowledge of sports. Not that it matters much. He would actually be right on all four counts.
July 26, 2013 at 11:53 am
Both?
August 11, 2013 at 8:46 am
Hey guys, nice to see some fellow passionate Cubs fans!
Sorry, I’m a bit late on this thread, but I was just looking for some genuine Anthony Rizzo complaints and my Google search led me to this site.
As I searched through your most recent threads looking for fair criticism of Rizzo, I couldn’t help but notice the tiff between Yeti and chucky. I have to be honest with you guys: as a complete outside observer, Yeti sounds like the only one with any class in this discussion. Frankly, chucky should apologize for all the name-calling.
