Open thread.

How fitting of me to put an open thread on a website, deemed by others, as the darkest corner of the internet on the scariest day of the year. Let’s not forget, only seven or eight months left until Tom Thibodeau is out as head coach of our Chicago Bulls. Unless, they suck worse than we think. Then, he will get the Tim Floyd and Scott Skiles treatment of being shit canned on Christmas Day. One can only pray.

Fro…are you or anyone else getting decked out for Halloween? I haven’t done it in 15 years. It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out who I went as.

At any rate, you guys have a good time tonight, and stay safe.

  2. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

Well…thanks to Boston for putting an end to St. Louis last night. Congratulations to them…3rd title since 9 years – After living in St. Louis from 05-09, seeing what happened last night put a big smile on my face.

Now, we could only be so lucky to win once…PATHETIC.

as far as Halloween goes, my wife and I were lazy last weekend. We had the same costume as last year…Fred Flinstone and Wilma. I am too old for this shit!

  3. Cubs Suck Says:

Congrats to Ryan Dempster for his team winning the world series he is one of my favorite recent players and he was never going to win in Chicago.

Fro, just curious how hard would it be to change the site name, I admit I dont plug the site much because its awkward saying “Fire Jerry Angelo” when hes already fired.

    Happy Halloween!

  4. Fro Dog Says:

It wouldn’t be that difficult to change the name. The thing is, some people may get frustrated when typing, for example, in the bar. Besides, if they put “Fire Tom Thibodeou” in a Google search, which, some smart fans might have done had they lost last night’s disaster, our site is one of the first ones to pop up.

The guys at Fire Ron Turner have left their url the same as well. It’s just easier to memorize and if I had to keep changing it, we could lose our four readers.

  5. Fro Dog Says:

In fact, I just did the Google search and we’re the first one that comes up. The other day when the Bulls were spanked by the Heat, the hits for that day and the following were pretty high. We’re getting the traffic.

  6. chucky Says:

Fro….I was wondering something. Who is the dickbag that said that this site is the darkest corner of the internet? I’d like to meet this person, shake his hand, and kick him right in the goddamn nuts.

  7. Fro Dog Says:

I don’t remember who said it. It was a long time ago. Well, the way I see it, I find it as a compliment. It’s always good to get noticed for opinions you make on a Chicago sports website. Embrace it my friend!

  8. chucky Says:

You’re a better man than me Fro. I’m sorry man, but that shit pisses me off.

  9. Cubs Suck Says:

I see why you keep it the way it is, but if you ever decide to change it I suggest or something you wouldnt have to change everytime someone gets fired. Its cool we still get traffic hopefully the lurkers speak up!

Great job Bears give Jay Ratliff a 1 year contract and he cant even play for 4 weeks if he can even play…

  11. Fro Dog Says:

I think Ratliff was signed for very little. Regardless, there must not be anyone else that is better and healthy. And not to be a pessimist (I am usually one too often), but if he has to wait four weeks, that leaves the Bears with just five games left on the schedule. It may be too little, too late. Nothing to lose though, right?

  12. Fro Dog Says:

I want to thank the Bulls for taking just three games to blow a 20-point second half lead and lose to the 76ers on Saturday night. All of those wonderful turnovers and missed shots really did them in.

If this isn’t enough evidence to fire the phony, that is ThomASS Thibodeou, I don’t what it will take. There is NO excuse for a professional basketball team to blow a 20-point lead in the second half or even, at all in a game. No excuse.

    Hey Guys,

I’m heading up to Lambeau Field for the game on Monday night. Damn…these fucking games are getting expensive. $292 face value (per ticket) for Club Seats. I’m thinking that this needs to be a “statement” game for the Packers. The Bears are sans Cutler and a they have a defense that is hurting…Green Bay needs to really put some separation between them and the Bears in this game; get off to an early lead and build upon that…mercilessly.

  14. Cubs Suck Says:

In case you missed it… The Kirk Hinrich accessories timeline …..

I bet he was eyeballing D.Rose’s fancy neck tape!

  15. Fro Dog Says:

Damn. The Bulls are already making me exhausted and it’s only been three games. There may be light at the end of the tunnel if this shitty start continues. I am not rooting for them to lose as I don’t do that with any of my teams but it could be the best thing. This could lead to Thibodeou’s demise even quicker.

  16. dvxprime Says:

Just once I would like to see the Bears actually find a way to overcome everything in their path right now…a defense that is too old, too hurt, and too crappy, a second-string QB, a first-year head coach…and pull one of the biggest upsets in this rivalry and steal a big win at Lambeau. How many times have we seen bullshit upsets that we never saw coming? How many times have we seen an 0-fee team pull a win out of its ass late in the season? Is it too much that the Chicago Bears strap on some pride and professionalism, put on the man-pants and fucking go out and bust their ass to WIN THE GAME? LIKE THEY’RE BEING PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO DO???

    Go Bears, dammit!!!
