It’s been a while.

Yeah. I know. I am sort of in this whole “no man’s land” when it comes to sports. The Bears drafted some players that Nagy will probably misuse. Or they will just suck because Ryan Pace is Nagy’s little puppet.

The Bulls ended up getting the seventh pick in the Draft for the third year in a row. But hey, at least I am not a Knicks’ fan. Fuck the Knicks.

The Blackhawks will be choosing third in their respective Draft.

The Fire (and Passion) are terrible this year in the world of soccer. I can’t even watch any of their games because ESPN is a bunch of scum by putting most or all of their games are on their paid service (ESPN+).

Again, apologies for being absent. Lousy sports results in lack of desire to post anything. Work has also consumed my life much more lately.

Hi Fro, glad to see you back with fire and passion. What happened to Genre? Anyway, my thoughts on the Cubs: Like Chucky has said, this Cub team has no chance of doing anything in the playoffs – if they even make the playoffs – with that bullpen. Plus their starters aren’t exactly blue ribbon quality either. They just don’t have the pitching to compete with the Dodgers, Brewers, Cardinals, and certainly not the Astros. Quintana couldn’t hold onto a 2-0 lead and they went on to lose 4-2 to the lowly Reds. Edwards is a minor league pitcher and that’s all he’ll ever be. Send him down and let him stay down! Theo spent all his money on broken down over the hill pitchers (Hamels, Darvish, Morrow, and Lester), and now he’s got nothing left. I’m not putting them to bed for this season just yet. I want to see what Theo does at the trade deadline. If he’s smart, he will let loose some of those position players he’s been hanging onto for some pitching, especially bullpen pitching. Next up is a series against Washington and Scherzer and Strasbourg. I don’t see them winning that series.

Cub bullpen blows another winnable game to the Phillies 5-4. Cannot compete with the big boys with no bullpen and a clueless manager. Fire Maddon and hire Girardi, please! Cubs will be in third or fourth place by the end of June.

  3. dvxprime Says:

Glass half full dept: The Cubs ARE in first place as I type this, I just hope the pitching staff ( starters relievers, EVERYBODY) can grow a pair (of BALLS) over the course of this season. Unless the Cubs have stud aces on the farm or they can scoop up a couple in free agency, i think 2019 is gonna be Last Chance Saloon for this team.

  4. dvxprime Says:

BTW, Fro, thanks for the F’nP mention, and I agree that ESPN+ is bullshit. F’n internet is getting more expensive all the time. And that smartphone battery drain, tho!

  5. Erniesarmy Says:

Cub bullpen cannot hold a 4-3 lead against the lowly Reds. Craig Kimbrel and Dallas Kuechel are still out there Theo. If you’re serious about this year you might want to get on the phone.

  6. Erniesarmy Says:

I’m laughing my head off! Cubs had a 5-4 lead in the ninth and Cisak just gave up a homerun to put the Reds in front 6-5! What a bullpen! Just stay in your office Theo, no need for you to do anything.

  7. chucky Says:

Hey Ernie, here’s a stat for you to chew on. Our piece of dog shit “bullpen” have had 20 save attempts so far this year. They’ve converted 9 of them. Somebody want to tell me about how “serviceable” this fucking shit ass disaster of a bullpen is again?

Try to not barf on that one Ernie, if you can.

  8. Erniesarmy Says:

Chucky, for a contending team the Cub bullpen is the worst in baseball by far. There is no way this team has a chance at the Division, or anything else, until they fix that. If its fixable. Theo sat on his butt during the offseason and never addressed this glaring hole. Now they’re paying the price. The offense looks good, but the defense and pitching look mediocre to poor. That won’t cut it!

  9. dvxprime Says:

(cue Irish Yeti, wherever ye may be…)

As of this morning, the Cubs are 25th in MLB for overall ERA. Holy shit, that ain’t sustainable. C’mon Cubs, get your shit together!!!

  10. dvxprime Says:

…aaand now the Cubs have lost three straight.

    Motherfuckers.

  11. Erniesarmy Says:

Kyle Hendricks pitched an eight inning gem against the Astros today, 2-1 Cubs. And their “closer” Cishek pitched a lights out ninth. Still that’s only one game and there’s a lot of baseball left to play. This is still only May! I’m mad they’re not making a move to sign either Keuchel or Kimbrel. They will not win a pennant with what they’ve got now. If they sign one of those guys, or make a trade, that bolsters their starters and bullpen, I like their chances. What say you, dvx?

  12. dvxprime Says:

Ernie, I can dig it, bruh!

  13. dvxprime Says:

Swept by the goddamned Cardinals. Sixth loss in their last seven.

Do I hear the sound of the wheels falling off?

  14. Erniesarmy Says:

Yeah, Joe Maddon sure has these guys clicking on all cylinders, that’s for sure! Come on Theo, fire this clown now! This has been Cub baseball since 2017: Offense scores runs, pitchers can’t hold the other team from scoring. Pitching begins to come around, offense can’t hit the water if they fell off a boat. Inconsistency has been Cub baseball under this guy since the World Series win. Okay, I certainly appreciate 2016, but enough is enough!

  15. Dave Says:

Back to winning ways, another sweep of the Cardinals and Craig Kimbrel is signed and getting ready for activation in 3 weeks. Things are looking up, but a tough road trip is starting. Keep the foot on the gas, Cubs!

  16. Erniesarmy Says:

Three in Colorado and four with the Dodgers in L.A., yikes! Dave, I would be happy if the Cubs can get home 3-4 off that trip.

  17. Erniesarmy Says:

And another winnable game goes down the toilet in Colorado because the Cubs haven’t got a reliable bullpen. And it isn’t just the bullpen, Darvish was given a nice 4-0 lead in the fourth, and he gives it right back in the bottom of the inning. That knocks the wind out of the offense. No way this team can win in September with that kind of inconsistent pitching. No way!

  18. dvxprime Says:

    Cubs pitching: 26th in ERA.

    Motherfuckers.

  19. Erniesarmy Says:

After being hammered by Colorado in two straight games, Cubs decide to wake up and win 10-1. The inconsistency of this team is truly mind boggling. I’m not sure Chucky could figure them out.

  20. chucky Says:

I wouldn’t even try Ernie. Life’s too short.

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
