Good morning, y’all.
Let me be brave for calling a spade a spade: I don’t see playoffs for the Cubs this year. The pitching has simply been AWFUL, especially this last week and a half. No way this gets turned around in the second half. Also, three errors in last night’s win…everybody here has been beating on the Cubs for their lack of focus, and sadly y’all are right.
Gonna be a long way until NFL football season.

Genre! Great to see ya back my frendt! I’m not saying Girardi is the savior that will lead the Cubs to the World Series this year, but I’ve liked his managerial style since he managed the Marlins. He has weaknesses no doubt (relying too much on matchups and the like), but unlike Maddon, he keeps his guys focused on baseball, not dressing up in pajamas for the next road trip! Chucky and I held down the fort in your absence.

You got no argument from me on the Theo is showing his undies proscription, Chucky. That’s why Red Sox fans were not upset when he left. He knows offense, but not pitching and defense. Nevertheless, it wasn’t Theo putting Strop in close games, that’s on Maddon “the genius.” Trade Strop and Fire Maddon, then we’ll see what happens.

Cubs get a 4-2 lead going into the eighth inning and guess who Maddon brings in to hold the lead. Yeah, good ole Pedro Strop. The lead immediately is blown; 5-4 Giants. Cubs can forget about this year, their pitching isn’t good enough. I don’t think they need to start tearing down and rebuilding, but they are going to have to trade a lot of these position players for pitchers this offseason. For me, the only untouchables are Rizzo, Baez, Contreras, and Hendricks. I guess they have to keep Hayward since they unloaded Fort Knox to sign him. Oh, and fire Joe Maddon!

I was at the game last night. HOLY FUCK was I steaming.
Somehow, we think it’s smart to have Kimbrel pitch to Yelich…who’s the reigning MVP AND the leader in HR’s and batting damn near .340 on the season. Then, even worse, we deal him a pitch over the heart of the plate so he can drive it over the left field fence and tie the game.
THEN, we walk a motherfucker who is batting .133 on the season just to get to the guy who is likely going to win Rookie of the Year honors in the NL this year (and he’s hitting .333 on the season). Result…walk off homer, and another disastrous bullpen outing for the Cubs. This is SO FUCKING TIRESOME!
1-4 in the last 5 games. All 4 losses…have been blown in the 8th inning or later!
