Me…me…me…me….”Good Bye Joey! Good Bye Joey! Good Bye Joey, we’re glad to see you go!” Maybe Epstein should join him. He is the one who signed Kimbrel, Darvish, Lester, Morrow, Hamels, and Quintana. Joe Girardi, welcome to the Cubs managerial post. Now, get this team ready for baseball next year through discipline, regular line ups, and small ball. Thank you.

  2. chucky Says:

Genre….you said yesterday (sarcastically) that Kimbrell is great. I replied ” at losing games. Today is game number four. Pedro FUCKING Strop has, I believe, nine blown saves this year. That’s thirteen games lost just by those two cocksuckers. The rest of this train wreck of bullpen has done their own share of damage. Just imagine if they had a semi decent bullpen. Joe Maddon may be a problem for the Cubs, but that front office is at fault too, big time. This team has a fucking shitload of work to do this winter, otherwise they’re going to be vying with the Pirates for last fucking place.

  3. chucky Says:

Ernie…..Girardi may not be the guy they get. I heard a couple of days ago that they’ve been grooming someone else to replace Maddon. And to me, this just screams “Cubbie blue” fucking bullshit. I hope you’re sitting down, because I have a feeling that the next Cubs manager will be…………………………………..David Ross.

    My goddamned head hurts.

  4. genrebuster Says:

Ernie…honestly, I don’t understand why you think Girardi would be an upgrade over Maddon.

Did you know that every manager who was in charge of the Yankees for as long as Joe Girardi was won the World Series more times than him?

He managed the Yankees for 10 seasons….and won ONE World Series title.

Hate on Joe Maddon all you want….I’m more aggravated with Theo and Jed at this point.

hey guys and gals….check this out: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/barring-a-miraculous-playoff-run-joe-maddon-might-be-managing-his-final-series-in-wrigley-field-for-the-cubs/

  6. Erniesarmy Says:

“Where he won the team over with things like magicians, themed road trips and petting zoos in the first two years, that stuff has all seemed to have run its course by now. The cutesy stuff worked when it was a team on the rise.”

This is the stuff that irritated me from the get-go. I think Maddon needs to retire and go hang out with the Grateful Dead on their next road trip – if there’s any still alive.

Maybe Joe Girardi isn’t the guy, but you cannot knock the man’s track record. The Yankees won the W.S. under his leadership, and he almost got them in the W.S. in 2017 with a bunch of rookies. He was also the last manager who had the Miami Marlins competitive.

I’m okay with David Ross, if he’s a disciplinarian like Joe Giradi. This team is out of sync and undisciplined in every area of the game. They need a manager who will keep them on their toes and focused. No more “themed road trips” and dancing in the bullpen! This team needs to focus on baseball. And this is for my buddy Chucky – GET RID OF STOP!!! If I see that blockhead in a Cub uniform next year, I’m going to shoot my computer with a shot gun!

Are you fucking kidding me? ((from https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27679851/crumbling-cubs-lose-5th-straight-1-run-game)

The Cubs completed their home schedule losing their final six games at Wrigley Field, five by one run, as they also lost to the Cincinnati Reds, both Tuesday and Wednesday, before the Cardinals swept them. It’s all but dashed their playoff hopes.

Three of the four losses to the Cardinals came with the Cubs leading or with the game tied in as late as the ninth inning.

  8. Erniesarmy Says:

“How did it that all happen?” Maddon asked rhetorically. “How did we lose all those four games? They were one run better than us every night, and we were really evenly matched, and that’s all I will concede.”

Uh, excuse me, is my mic on? Okay? I will tell you Mr. Blockhead what happened, you wanted to run Chapman out there every game in the 2016 playoffs; it’s no wonder he left in 2017. You constantly tinkered with the lineups. You were too stubborn to listen to people who pointed out your glaring weaknesses over and over again. You never took the game seriously. All of your silly antics took the team off their focus of winning games. You are a horrendous judge of pitching situations in games. You have no idea who is gassed, who would be best to bring in relief, and what are the best match ups. “How did that all happen?” You, Mr. Maddon, are the biggest reason for a World Series championship ballclub that should have had at least one more W.S. championship or pennant in them being reduced to a third place also ran by the third year! Good riddance!

  9. Dave Says:

Kimbrel will be fine next year after a full spring training. But its time to trade a couple big leaguers to start a partial rebuild. I’m thinking Bryant and Russell who strike out way too much. Bryant has fallen off significantly from his MVP season and also tends to make excuses like he can’t handle the rigors of a 162 game season. I would say Schwarber but after the All Star break he has played out of his mind. Hits for both contact and power, accepts walks, and is no longer a significant defensive liability in left field. He would be putting up Yelich-like numbers if it weren’t for the slow start.

Next year’s starting rotation with Hamels gone and Lester in his final year: Darvish, Lester, Hendricks, Quintana, Chatwood or free agent acquisition. Geritt Cole would be nice there?

We need to sign Nicholas Castellanos with his doubles and his “fire and passion!” Baez and Hoerner will make a great SS and 2nd base tandem.

I would not mind David Ross as manager. The players have a lot of respect for him and he would not be discouraged from yelling at them or calling for meetings when it was needed. He may do quite well.

There should be one lineup for right handed opposing pitching and one lineup for left. Rizzo does great as a leadoff hitter but he should be in the middle of the lineup getting RBIs so we need to sign or trade for a proven player who can do it.

  10. genrebuster Says:

How did they lose 8 fucking games in a row at this time? I’ll write more later….

  11. Jimmy D Says:

Genre asked “How did they lose 8 fucking games in a row at this time?”

    Well, that’s pretty simple.
This year is the 50 year anniversary of the most famous collapse in major league baseball. Why shouldn’t we notch up another “head scratching” FUCK ME IN THE ARSE, SHIT THE BED finish to a season??? Makes all the sense in the world to me!
Hopefully it ONLY happens once every 50 years (although we had a pretty good collapse in the mid 2000’s (2006?), if memory serves me well.

    I’m out!

  12. Dave Says:

Joe Maddon moving on after today. Say what you want, it’s been a golden age of Cubs baseball. Hopefully it continues with the next skipper whoever that is.

  13. genrebuster Says:

Jimmy D…all things considered, 1969 was worse.

    hahahaha!!!

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
