The Blackhawks are down 3-0. Kenny Albert is calling Game 4 to make sure the series ends.

by

I really had faith the Blackhawks could shock the hockey world and win the Stanley Cup this year. I really did. Damn, this has sucked.

I was ecstatic that they upset the Oilers. I truly felt they were on to bigger and better things.

Then came the Vegas Golden Knights. I have hated this team since they started. I won’t say they replaced the Red Wings at the top of teams I can’t stand. But they are certainly giving them a run for their money. The Blackhawks just can’t catch a break. They are hitting goal posts. Corey Crawford is letting in soft goals at times and when he doesn’t, his teammates in front of him are having defensive breakdowns.

Games 2 and 3 were close. Real close. But they haven’t been able to get it done.

No other excuses this time around. The Kiss of Death To Chicago Sports, Kenny Albert, calls Game 2 of the qualifying series and that’s the only game the Blackhawks lost there. But in this series, he didn’t call the first three games. Now, he’s in a position to call the last game of the season for the Blackhawks. Down 3-0, a miracle needs to happen. They need to win a game with that dweeb calling it.

Can the Blackhawks shock us once again by doing this and then, pull off a comeback for the ages?

For the love of God, please let it happen.

To make matter worse, Chicago sports on TV might as well be in a black hole. I can’t get any Black Hawks, Cubs, or White Sox action over cable because everybody is so goddamn greedy and wants us to use their streaming services ($$$).

To be fair to Vegas, their ownership wanted winners from Day One, and went over, around, and through everyone and everything to make it happen. No excuses, no bullshit.

Since my Ducks were out of the picture, I’ve been pulling for the Blackhawks. I think I may have jinxed them. Sorry, Fro.

Wow. They pulled it out. Corey Crawford was magnificent.

    One game at a time.

    And Ernie, you bastard! Haha.

…and the game was actually televised last night! Good times!

    DVX,

All the games are on cable. NBCSN had the first two games and NBC had Game Three. NBCSN had the game last night and will have tomorrow night’s as well.

    Dammit!!!

    Even worse:

“Robin Lehner made 23 saves including a couple of big stops in the closing seconds, and improved to 8-1 since being acquired by the Golden Knights from Chicago back in February.”

Why? For the love of God…WHY?!?

I hate Vegas!! All right on to Colorado as my next team to root for. Anybody but Vegas!! Sorry, Fro, i really was hoping the Blackhawks could take em.

Right now, I have a recent Illinois/Northwetsern football game on in the background. I have dim memories of the Illinois at Penn State game, the last game that Joe Paterno would ever coach at PSU before his football empire was brought down around his ears by the child-molester scandal.

The Illini was able to move the ball at will in the first half, then was three and outs for the rest of the game while Penn State staged an “epic” comeback.

What truly pisses me off about that game was how it began the Fuckin’ Illini’s slide into irrelevance. The Illini were 6-0 going into Happy Valley, then went swirling down the drain towards six straight losses and a bowl-game ass-whipping.

To make matters worse is how Penn State quick recovered from the JoePa collapse, while U of I went full retard and fell into the BiG Ten cellar.

Sooo…the BiG Ten cancelled football until maybe next spring. Can’t say that I will miss it that much; I’m not sure i want to spend every autumn Saturday wondering if Lovie Lee Smith (3 playoff seasons in twelve with Da Bears and Tamap Bay) is the man to make them more than just hoping for 6-6 and a berth in the Bumfuck Bowl played in Lodi, CA.

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
