…a combined no hitter in LA (Cubs win).

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31704821/chicago-cubs-zach-davies-three-relievers-combine-mlb-7th-no-hitter

from the article:

“It’s the seventh no-hitter in baseball this season, the most ever before July 1 and tied for the most in a season since 1900, when the modern era began.

The twist on Thursday night’s no-hitter is that the three relievers who finished the game, after starter Zach Davies came out after six innings, didn’t know the Dodgers were hitless until after they pitched.

“The whole bullpen had no idea,” lefty Andrew Chafin said afterward. “It was completely oblivious. In our defense, from that bullpen, our perspective on the field, all we can see is like batting averages and the count and stuff like that.”

That’s all nice and good, I’m happy they accomplished the feat, but something else is really bothering me right now. The Cubs allowed Kyle Schwarber to walk away signed Joc Pederson to replace him.

    Schwarber Ave: .253 HR: 22 RBI: 50 OPB: .336 OPS: .896

    Pederson Ave: .237 HR: 11 RBI: 32 OPB: .299 OPS: .745

Nice going Hoyer, you stupid dumb fuck. Now go fuck a goddamned gopher hole you ignorant shitbag douchenugget!

  2. dvxprime Says:

What is wrong with the Cubs starting rotation that they needed THREE receivers to finish the game??? Dafuck?

  3. chucky Says:

    FIRE DAVID ROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I said to myself “let’s see what happens on this upcoming road trip.” After losing their 5th game in a row by a combined score of 32-10!! I am now ready to make my prediction, the Cubs will finish 4th in the Central behind Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Cincinnati. Their starting pitching is mediocre at best, their relief pitching looks fine, but the offense is horrendous! Just like the last two years this team cannot score runs. I place this on Hoyer and management for not finding a decent hitting coach. This is not a winning organization.

  5. Erniesarmy Says:

One more thing, and I thought this the moment they signed him. Arrieta is done, period! Cut him, dump him, do whatever you have to do but he cannot start another game for the Cubs. He had a 7-0 lead after the first inning and now it’s 7-6 in the third!

  6. chucky Says:

Ernie…..I’m with you on Arrieta. He’s been fucking brutal. And like I said above, Hoyer showed he’s as dumb as shit for letting Schwarber walk. The tear he’s on right now is historic, and Joke Pederson sucks ass.

  7. erniesarmy Says:

Ditto, Chucky. Hoyer doesn’t have the ability to judge talent and now we are seeing the results. This team is a mess. A 7-0 lead ends up a 15-7 loss??? Someone needs to be fired right now.

  8. chucky Says:

Yeah, their names are Jed Hoyer and David FUCKING Ross!

  9. chucky Says:

Yeah, stick a fork in the Cubs. They’re done. When they score runs, they can’t pitch. When they pitch, they can’t hit.

FIRE JED CLAMPETT AND DAVID FUCKING ROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. dvxprime Says:

OMFG. Nine straight losses. Good luck rebounding from that fiasco.

Happy Independence Day, fellas…I’m gonna find a rooftop bar to get drunk (?) and (try to) watch fireworks.

  11. chucky Says:

dvx…..they will not rebound from this. In fact, I’m expecting a fire sale shortly. Say goodbye to some of our favorite players because Hoyer is going to be trading them away and he won’t get jack shit in return for them.

If any of these guys have a future, it won’t be with this team.

  12. Erniesarmy Says:

Everyone should be on the trade docket except Kyle Hendricks, Nico Hoerner, and Wilson Contreras. Yeah, that means Rizzo, Baez, and Bryant should be bye, bye too. Enough with this bunch. They got us one World’s Championship and that was it. Time to move on. I’m beginning to sour on Ross too. Today’s loss to the Phillies was pathetic. 10 losses in a row and counting…

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
