That’s Chucky at his best! Now, what’s the chances Maddon and the Cubs blow this chance to put down the “Toothpick” and his cronies?

  2. genrebuster Says:

ernie, I will be so pissed if they lose to the Nationals…..

  3. chucky Says:

Ah yes. The good old days. I enjoyed that rant. Thank you genre for bringing that back.

And thank you for your kind words Ernie. They are certainly appreciated, my frendt! And if you guys thought I was a little pissed last year, just look out if the Cubs lose this series. I’ll go completely apeshit INSANE. That’s a fucking promise boys.

Sneaking off topic jus’ a li’l bit:

Mike Glennon’s last three games: 5 INT, 3 FUM. $18M guaranteed, and all we got was a turnover machine. Let’s ask these questions:

    1) Do we really have anything at the skill positions (RB, TE. WR) to justify handing the reins over to Mitch Trubisky, rather than let the Sanitize have a go until Tru-dog is really ready?

    2) Can we trust the defense (especially the woebegone secondary) to keep games competitive if Trubisky can’t keep the offense on the field any better than you-know=whom?

    3) Ae we shooting for Trubisky to get some trigger time, as this team whirlpools its way into oblivion for 2017, or doe THINK we have a shot at 8-8?

    4) John Fox and Co. are just marking time until they’re all eventually fired; do we want Trubisky getting his trials-by-fire under this coaching staff, or do we wait until the eventual housecleaning?

    Back on topic:

My hopes for this Cubs Postseason 2017:

Beating the Toothpick Chomper, the Dodgers, and the Yankees in their own houses on the way to back to back World Series titles.

  6. erniesarmy Says:

DVX, I can possibly see the Cubs squeezing past the Nationals and barely ekking out a seventh game victory over the Dodgers, but I see no one getting past the Indians.

Yankees will be eliminated in four against the Indians.

The reason I am not confident in the Cubs chances are the same problems they’ve been having since Spring Training:

    1. Inconsistent offense.
    2. Poor to non-existent relief pitching.

Their starters have been adequate, but that’s not saying much.

Having said all that; beat Dusty Baker and I’ll be satisfied!

  7. genrebuster Says:

It’s hard to predict what the Cubs will do…they were 49-25 since the break.

It seems like the bullpen has been a little better the last 2 weeks or so…Wilson could make a difference.

    Starting pitching has improved.

    The bats are heating up.

    Key injured players have returned.

I don’t know if they will advance….but I do think that Cleveland is the team to beat, given their unbelievable finish. I’m not sure that the Dodgers are as good as their record indicates.

Whoever gets/stays hot/hottest will win it.

The kid is in!!!! Trubisky time!!!

  9. erniesarmy Says:

My prediction for the series against the Nationals: I think the Cubs will have enough to squeeze past the Nationals in five.

They have to split the first two games. If they don’t, they don’t win.

  10. erniesarmy Says:

Cubs take game 1! But, Chucky’s favorite pitcher … cough…cough…Lester…cough…goes tomorrow. Hang on to your butts!

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
