Bears vs. Patriots Thread

November 10, 2024

The Bears are 4-4 heading into this game. However, it feels like they are 1-7. That’s how this season feels. I seriously don’t think the Bears will win this game nor any other game for the rest of the season.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Where I was 25 years ago today | November 7th, 1999

November 7, 2024

For Bears fans living during that time, it was definitely a “where were you?” kind of moment.

Walter Payton succombed to bile duct cancer six days prior. The following Saturday, a ceremony at Soldier Field took place (all these years, I kept thinking it was at Lambeau since they were playing there the next day). I watched part of the ceremony from a small TV at a bowling alley. That time, there was a league for kids our age. I was 13. The Bears changed the 30-yard line with “34.” I thought that was cool.

The Bears were playing the Packers at Lambeau Field the next day. I can’t remember why I was watching the game on the 13-inch TV in the kitchen. The Bears were pretty shitty that year. The Packers were determined to make it back to the Super Bowl after two years. The Bears, well, just sucked as usual. And that game was no different. Cade McNown got hurt early in the game. Jim Miller stepped in and imitated Cade McNown. Hey, Miller was actually cool. He played better as the season went on before being suspended for some steroid that he claimed was over-the-counter. The Packers were having an off-day and the Bears kept pissing away opportunities if I recall. Regardless, for one of the rare times in the 90’s, the Bears had a chance to beat the Packers.

Favre was doing his thing by driving the Packers down the field in the final minute. Before that, shitty Bears kicker Chris Boniol missed a field goal that would have forced the Packers to get a touchdown instead. Even back then, everyone assumed that the Packers were going to get the field goal for the win. It’s what the Bears were known for doing and to this day, still known for. But on this day, divine intervention took place. We as fans finally got a break with this team.

Ryan Longwell, who was pretty much automatic, just had to make a 28-yard field goal.

Nope. Blocked by a legend known as Bryan Robinson. After the game, he said he didn’t know he could jump that high and that Walter lifted him up. Just an amazing moment. Bryan passed eight years ago. I remember making a post about him here after that. The dude ended up being one of my favorite players after this moment.

At the end of the season, that loss was vital in keeping the Packers out of the playoffs. If memory serves correct, the tie-breaker went to the Lions because of the division record. The Packers had two separate three-game losing streaks and Ray Rhodes got fired after just one season.

That’s the funny part. When the Packers have a .500 season (rarely by the way), they fire the coach. They don’t care if it’s just one season. The Bears on the other hand, all these years, .500 results in contract extensions and a press conference afterwards vowing that better times are ahead.

Oh well.

Management insists on staying intact and incompetent.

November 4, 2024

As we have witnessed from this franchise for the last last three decades and then some, piss-poor management leads to piss-poor performances.

Eberf-LOSE said today that changes won’t be made. Everything is great and they seem to know more than what the rest of us do. Even though what we’ve been saying has been correct and everything they say has been wrong.

This is annoying. I’ve repeated that before. But this is really tiresome. Why does this keep happening every year? Why can’t they just find a competent general manager and head coach for the first time in 35 years? This is the problem.

It’s become comedic. The Bears a national punchline. All over the TV channels, they are making fun of the Bears. They are the laughingstock of the league. How does this make the players feel? They quit on the coaches yesterday. What does that tell you? They don’t respect this management and nor should they.

Fuck this goofy-looking motherfucker Shane Waldron. He can take his shitty offense somewhere else. Fuck Matt Eberf-LOSE and his garbage “(S)HITS PRINCIPAL.” Fuck Kevin Warren and his stupid obsession with a new stadium. Fuck Ryan Poles and his “take the North and never give it back.” Hey dipshit. The team you assembled can’t even take third place in the division. Focus on that before you win the division. Or better yet, focus on putting a team together that is competent.

Fuck George McCaskey and his stubborness to make changes until it’s too late. Nice guy and all. I am sure he would be a great neighbor. But he should not be in charge of a professional football team and especially not the team I was born and raised to love. He’s the catalyst to this entire disaster. He’s the one in charge of hiring and firing.

FUCK ALL OF THIS.

Just like we predicted | Cardinals 27 Bears 9 (4th quarter)

November 3, 2024

All of us here saw this coming the second last week’s game ended. We have seen this so many times, especially in the last 15 years. One really shitty loss sends this team into a tailspin. And last week, it happened.

Now, the dominoes are falling. This team can’t play the Panthers and Jaguars again. And let’s be honest. If they did, they lose.

And as it goes every single year this miserable franchise starts back up, there is plenty of blame to go around.

Matt Eberf-LOSE – This dumbfuck? He should turn in his resignation if he really cares about this team. Leave this franchise. And he should take that dumbfuck Shane Waldron with him. Just an awful combination of incompetence. I am tired of this shit.

Caleb Williams – Overthrows. Underthrows. Not seeing the check down receivers who are wide open for potentially big gains. Nope. Just continue to hold onto the ball until a sack happens. I get it. The offensive line is trash and his coordinator is John Schoop re-incarnated. But it’s not the coaches or the linemen overthrowing wide open receivers. Again, there is plenty of blame to go around. But he is not the answer.

Defense – Enough. Again, giving up points in crucial situations. I don’t give a shit if they force field goals on most plays. Giving up touchdowns right before halftime and not being able to stop the run is what this defense specializes in.

As I’m typing this, Caleb Williams was sacked again.

This season is over. They aren’t going to the playoffs. And it is very-much a possibility they don’t win another game this season. Fuck this fucking franchise.

Bears vs. Cardinals Thread

It’s the current Chicago team vs. the original Chicago team.

It’s the embarassing organziation vs. the respectable orginzation.

Message to Ryan Poles: Cut Tyrique Stevenson or you further prove to all of us that you are a dumb motherfucker.

October 27, 2024

Being congested and exhausted these last few days, I simply went to do other shit immediately after the Bears found yet another way to lose. But as I went back online and saw one of the local websites, video of Tyrique Stevenson taunting fans AS THE BALL WAS SNAPPED was shown.

And apporpriate it was that he tipped the ball that lead to the team losing. And because of him, he cost this entire team the season.

So if Ryan Poles gave a shit about this franchise, he would cut this dumbfuck NOW. By Monday morning, if he isn’t cut, it is further proof that Ryan Poles is an abject failure at this job.

We’re waiting.

Of course. | Commanders 18 Bears 15

October 27, 2024

As soon as the Bears let Jayden Daniels get that easy pass to midfield with a few seconds left, I knew it. I knew they were going to win it there.

This kills the season. This is where the tailspin begins. It’s all dominoes falling for this fucking franchise.

Jayden Daniels or Marcus Mariota, it doesn’t matter. The Bears will have their hands full.

Bye week thoughts.

October 21, 2024

What do you know? IF the playoffs were to start today, the Bears would be in that coveted consolation-prize playoff spot (seventh seed). That being said, they didn’t get much help while off. Sure, the Vikings lost to the Lions on a late field goal. But the Texans pissed all over themselves allowing the Packers to kick a field goal as time expired.

The Seahawks and Eagles also won and thus, tightening up the playoff race even more.

So while the Bears still have a chance at the division, their best way in is with the Wild Card.

Your thoughts below.

Log jam.

October 15, 2024

As expected, getting into the playoffs will be extremely difficult for anyone contending. Outside of the Vikings and Lions, every team has at least two losses. Even with the consolation seventh seed, the Bears will have a battle on their hands.

I know it’s *only* six games, but this seems to be the case for the remainder of the season. It’s not a certain that the Vikings will win the division. But appears they are on that trajectory to do so. I would say the Rams and Panthers are done. That leaves seven teams fighting for the consolation prize seventh seed. One of those seven teams are the Bears.

There is little or no room for error. Two of their last wins were against two of the worst teams not just the NFC, but the entire league. But soon, they will be playing contending teams including every team in the division. After the game against the Patriots on November 10th, every game will be against teams fighting for playoff spots. 11 games to go. It’s one of those years where 10 or 11 wins may not be enough to secure a spot. Can the Bears really win eight games out of those remaining? History tells us they won’t because of their track record. Even generally speaking for other teams, that is a difficult task.

The Bears will need some help from other teams to try to get them in. Obviously, they can take care of business themselves by winning eight of their remaining games to get in.
