Dress rehearsal: Bengals 23 Bears M*A*S*H Unit 10

August 29, 2015

This game was just awful. The Bears already have about 11 players hurt (or so it seems). Four of them, are the top four receivers. Tonight, Jimmy Clausen, Will Sutton and someone else (forgot already) were added to that list. I don’t know if these are all just freak injuries or the fact that Roger Goodell continues to change the rules, but it’s getting annoying. I never root for an injury on any team. You always want your team healthy and to beat the other team at full strength. Also, too many fucking penalties in this game. The Bears had 12 of them for a total of 117 yards. There were so many on each side late, that I decided to do paperwork while having the game on in the background. For those who didn’t watch, consider yourselves lucky.

Offense: Cutler failed, once again, to lead the Bears to a touchdown. His numbers looked fine: 13/17 for 98 yards. But he was sacked and had a couple of shitty passes. Jimmy Clausen got taken out of the game after sliding for a first down late. It appeared that he had a concussion. That’s just fantastic. We are ready for David Fales or Shane Carden.

The offense couldn’t do shit tonight. The only touchdown was on a blocked punt return. And to make matters worse, there was one drive late that had the Bears go 3 plays for -7 yards (yes, negative 7 yards).

Defense: Just an absolute PATHETIC display was on hand in Cincinnati. The first drive for the Bengals was 16 plays, 77 yards in 9:06. The Bengals scored two more times before the half. Andy Dalton left the game with a neck injury (doesn’t look serious, so that’s good). In comes A.J. McCarron and he threw the ball with ease. The defense of the Bears was it’s usually-self.

There was a bunch more I could talk about but this game was just completely out of whack. I hate to say this, but this could be a preview for what happens in the season. The Bears will win a few games. They may even beat a team that they have no business beating. But, I say the Bears go 5-11. This team is just a clusterfuck and all of these injuries are making it worse. The Bears are in a lot of trouble.

Derrick Rose, you are dumber than a box of rocks.

I should be in bed right now. Instead, I read about this shit.

I don’t know if this is true or not. But the fact that TMZ is reporting it (they’re usually right on everything), doesn’t convince me that it’s false. If this is true, the Bulls should do the right thing and release this asshole. Forget if there is an arrest. But even if it’s just a settlement of money, let this guy go. He’s proven to be a dumbass in society with him having someone else take his SAT’s to complaining to the media that he wants to stay healthy so he can go to his son’s graduation.

Fuck this guy.

Refreshing.

Say what you will about the past – I sure have – but the Cubs are making things interesting (for a change).

The Cubs completed their first four-game sweep of the Braves since August 1968. This was their fourth four-game sweep of the year, their most since 1945.

Chicago improved to a season-high 20 games over .500 and is 13-3 in its last 16 games.

A few thoughts on the first preseason game

Hey mom. Guess what? I am going to get a chance to play. Make sure you’re watching. Tell dad, too!

I won’t go too much into this game (it’s the preseason after all), but I was reminded in many ways last night of the past few years as a Bears fan. The Bears might have won, but I felt blood coming out of my eyes and ears. Here’s why.

Being as excited as I was for football to start, I just had to watch the pregame show. Dan Hampton is doing pregames for Fox 32 and he’s actually not as meatball-y as others. As the pregame goes on, I get more excited when then, they cut the camera to the Soldier Field sidelines for Lou Canellis. And who does Lou interview?

This guy:

Ted fucking Phillips? You’re kidding me, right? Oh, and if you missed it, here’s one sentence that summed up the stupidity of him and I quote: “I see a sense of comradery around the organization and the team.” – Yeah. Sure. And if there is, it’s certainly not because of you, Ted. This guy probably didn’t even know what a football was before the Bears hired him 30 years ago.

Well, now to the game. Let’s see, the Bears committed about 14 penalties in the game. I think half were false starts or offsides. It’s good to see the Bears in mid-season form with that. Oh, the first team defense gave up a touchdown on the first drive. The Dolphins went 14 plays and took up half of the quarter doing so.

Jimmy Clausen looked good. So did backup running back Jacquizz Rodgers. That was nice to see. Clausen actually looked fairly calm. That’s encouraging. A few guys some of us never even heard of until last night played pretty well too. And go figure, I already forgot the names of these guys.

Dickface overthrew Eddie Royal when he was wide open. It probably would have been an easy touchdown. The very next play, Dickface missed Martellus Bennett on the sideline.

I fucking hate Roger Goodell. I wish someone would punch him in his fucking face. Those 33-yard extra points are PATHETIC. Every year, he tries to water down the league by instituting new rules that are supposedly making the game better but in reality, it’s the exact opposite. Go to hell, Roger Goodell. And take Ted Phillips with you.

Alright. That’s enough from me. For those who watched any part of it, feel free to weigh in.

Cubs sweep Giants….

Well, it appears that the Blackhawks could be fucked as an organization, if Patrick Kane is indeed, charged. I am praying it’s not true but from the reports are saying, none of them are good.

In lighter news, apparently, Jay Cutler is “looking great” in camp. I am not sure if he has thrown any interceptions yet, but I would assume they are forthcoming. Likewise for overthrowing receivers. And the Bears have Shea McClellin calling plays on defense as an inside linebacker in the new 3-4 defense.

Fire away.

Time to blow out the candles again. Fire Jerry Angelo turns 7!

smashing-7th-anniversaryWhere has the time gone? If you can believe it, most of us have known each other for damn near a decade.

Thank you, everybody. I know I say that every year, but it never gets old. All of our readers are the reason why this place is up and running. If you were to ask me if I had any specific memories about this place, there would be countless ones. Yes, most of the events that have happened in sports have been on the negative side (I think that’s why this site existed in the first place). We’ve used this site as an outlet to let it be known that we are pissed off fans of our teams in Chicago sports.

I will brag for a second here, but I think calling out Sarah Spain five years ago and having her fight back by saying that I posted almost all false information made me laugh. Earlier this year, the whole Aiyana Cristal saga with 670 The Score’s Dan Bernstein brought a lot of eyes to this site.

But I do all of this for fun. In seven years, I never made a single dollar from this site. And even if I tried to make money, it probably wouldn’t have worked. Anyone can have a website, channel, whatever else. But, to know that I did this years ago tells me that I wasn’t doing this to try to be famous or make money. If it happened, so be it. But I truly come here to talk to you guys and girls because it lets me know that I am not the only person in the Chicago sports world that’s pissed off.

I would thank a lot of individuals, but I am afraid I will leave someone out. However, I do have to thank Genrebuster for helping out over the last few years. Thanks, buddy!

And thank you again, everybody.
