Chicago Sky advance

August 26, 2014

The Chicago Sky went into the fourth quarter of the deciding game against the Atlanta Dream trailing by 16. In fact, I don’t believe they ever had the lead. In the final seconds, future Mrs. Fro Dog, Elena Delle Donne, hit a shot to put the Sky ahead by one and was ultimately, the difference. Angel McCoughtry of the Dream put up a shot as time expired but the ball bounced several times around the basket before falling off the rim. Delle Donne had 34 points. This was the first playoff series win in franchise history.

The Sky take on the team that eliminated them from last year’s playoffs in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Indiana Fever on Saturday.

More Erin Kennedy

Apparently, some dude is even more obsessed with babes in Chicago news than yours truly. He compiled this newscast of just Erin looking fantastic (as always) on YouTube. There are also others that were in the tournament that he compiled up in other videos too. Check them out.

Unleash!

Bears cut a PATHETIC excuse for an NFL player to make room for Santonio Holmes.

August 19, 2014

I know, I’m a little late to the party but I finally have time to comment on this move. So far, the Bears are looking fairly decent in the meaningless preseason. Last year, the defense was completely dominant in the preseason and I was ready to naked cartwheels in the streets. Then, the regular season arrived and we all saw happened (even when they were healthy). So who knows. Maybe the opposite is happening this year?

Here’s some good news: Eric Weems is finally gone. This guy really sucked. Last year, I was found saying in the recaps and to others that I did not understand what purpose Eric Weems has being on the Bears, or any other team. Eric Weems is not a football player and never has been a football player. Maybe this guy isn’t really named Eric Weems and it was possible that this guy that looks just like him, captured the real Eric Weems and is locking him up somewhere while stealing his identity. He should also be arrested for stealing from the Bears.

I am not sure how much Santonio Holmes has left in him but he was MVP of a Super Bowl and the Bears don’t need him to do much. But it doesn’t hurt to have a guy of his talent on this team. Trestman said that people can change through time and maybe his work ethnic will now that he is on a contender. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a privilege to be in the NFL and it might have been possible that he didn’t give a shit with the Jets because, let’s face it, it’s the Jets. I don’t hate the Jets but they did suck the last couple of years and that probably attributed to him not caring as much (along with his injuries). Maybe he’s ready to go or maybe he’s not. No matter what though, he’s not Eric Weems (or the guy pretending to be him).

Your thoughts in the thread.

Erin Kennedy of CBS 2 rocks it in the mornings.

Inner-View-Erin-Kennedy

I’ve been meaning to get to this woman for about the last month. Now, here she is. Erin Kennedy is on CBS 2 in the mornings. I started noticing her doing some of the 11 a.m. newscasts a while back and was immediately sucked in.

Sadly, like most women we discuss, she’s off the market but she’s a joy to watch and listen to. I think what gets me the most is her voice. Yes, looks are important and she’s definitely a babe. But her voice is what really gets my attention. I know, I’m just a weird dude but when I scout the ladies, I really go in-depth with their traits/characteristics. I may be a victim of “judging a book by it’s cover” in the sense that if a lady sounds bitchy (Lisa Parker of NBC 5), then chances are, I won’t be interested.

NBC 5 really made me ANGRY when they let one of my favorites in Daniella Guzman go to their NBC affiliate in Los Angeles. And don’t get me wrong, Zoraida Sambolin is gorgeous too, but she’s no Daniella. Your loss, NBC 5. But don’t worry, I still have Marion Brooks and Alicia Roman to put a smile on my face at noon.

Bennett suspended; cause for concern?

August 7, 2014

As we approach the first preseason game, one issue has been brought to light for a player that is very important if the Bears are going to succeed this year. If it was known before all of this, I certainly didn’t hear about it. Martellus Bennett was suspended and fined after a fight with newcomer Kyle Fuller earlier in the week. Usually, fights do happen with all other teams throughout a season. From what I have read, this is more to this story than just a scuffle.

From what was reported this week from beat writers of other teams that Bennett has played for, he has been known to have some issues associated with the team. Apparently, he didn’t want to be in camp but rather, at home with his wife and newborn child. His motivation and work ethic has been criticized in the past.

Should we as fans be concerned?

Not yet, in my opinion. If this is going on during the regular season, then, other options would need to be considered. The Bears gave him a lot of money last year and he did produce in a big way. However, he should be taking his job seriously all the time, especially with the cash he was given.

It was nice to see Phil Emery address the situation right after it was announced he was being suspended. He will probably miss the first preseason game but I really do believe that Emery and Trestman have this team under control. We see what they did as soon as this became an issue as they addressed it right away and basically told all of us that they will not put up with this. If Bennett continues to handle things this way, they will find some to replace him.

I am praying it doesn’t get to that point. Bennett is a damn good player and if the Bears are going to the promised land this year, he is going to be needed to step up when games are on the line.

Your thoughts (and stats) are welcome.

And six years later, according to some, I am still the worst.

Six years ago, I didn’t have a plan.

Today, I still don’t have a plan.

Six years ago today, this site was created on a whim. I didn’t have any expectations. I was just throwing shit against a wall and praying it would stick. Some are still here. Others, have vanished for various reasons. And we have had some new guys join us from time to time.

It’s not just once year that I thank all of you guys and gals. It’s many days. However, I make it a big deal on this day because back then, there were millions of websites just like this and today, there are many more. When I check the amount of visits from different people on the site, there are many more people who read us but don’t comment. Maybe because they think we’re lunatics and are afraid of joining in on the discussion, or maybe they just read for fun. So for those ones who just read it, thanks as well.

I think the best part of this site is when times are really shitty in our sports’ lives, some of you post links to funny things or make a joke about the situation. It won’t change what has happened, but it helps a bit at moments. For me, personally, I tend to live under the radar in my real world. I have never had Facebook or Twitter so this site is a place that I go to on a regular basis.

I do have a special thanks to Genrebuster for helping out here over the last few years. He once said, “we get results”. And while it may not be solely because of us, no one can argue the actual stats (cue Yeti). Five assholes in Chicago sports that we have wanted gone are out. Sadly, there are many more to come. And we’ll be here to cater to those who need us the most.

Yeah. We’re lunatics. But remind yourself that there are others just like you out there and some of them are here.

Thank you.
