One step forward. Two steps back. Bears trade Fields for basically nothing.

March 17, 2024

Even when a supposed right decision is made, the Bears find a way to fuck it up. And that’s exactly what Ryan Poles did Saturday.

As we know now, Justin Fields is going to the Steelers. All they got in return was a sixth-round pick. That could turn into a fourth if Fields plays a certain amount of time.

That’s it? That’s nothing. The Bears should have gotten at least a third-round. At least. Or maybe Fields for a pick this year? I believe as it stands now, the Bears only have four picks this year. That’s not enough to build this team up and because of this, Poles was forced to go shopping for free agents. Again.

You can’t build a contending team by signing a bunch of free agents. You build it by drafting.

But don’t worry. The Bears made up for it a couple days back by signing Brett Rypien along with his four touchdowns and nine interceptions in ten games played (four years in the league). So instead of finding another quarterback in the later rounds that could possibly be developed alongside with Bagent, they go get this fucking idiot. It’s a younger version of Nathan Peterwhacker.

“One step forward. Two steps back.”

The Bears trade their fourth-round pick for Keenan Allen.

This is another sign that the Bears are going to part with Fields at some point and annoint Caleb Williams the starting quarterback. If the Bears were going to keep Fields, then this trade doesn’t go down. Marvin Harrison Jr. would have been drafted instead.

Did the Bears pay a fair price for a player in the last year of his contract? Does anyone feel any better about the Bears being a better team after this?

This is who the Bears are going to give a ton of money to.

D’Andre Swift? Really? The same guy who dropped a game-winning pass AGAINST the Bears?

Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert weren’t good enough? Well, if this team actually ran the damn ball, they would show that more.

All but gone.

Well, I can’t say I’m surprised. It appears that Fields will be traded within the next couple weeks. The Bears will take Caleb Williams and go back to square one for this franchise.

It’s just another sign of failure by Ryan Pace when he traded up for him. I shouldn’t go off about 2017. But again, DeShaun Watson was the obvious pick in the draft (not many were touting Mahomes just yet). And before anyone comes at me with “Watson was accused of this, this and this”, I’m very much aware of that. He’s a scumbag. At the time, however, nobody saw that coming. It’s out of everyone’s control. Watson should have been taken instead of Trubisky.

Whatever the Bears do will be the wrong decision. Fields stays and he continues to throw interceptions and hang onto the ball too long while doing the occasional “Houdini” act of escaping a 20-yard loss for a gain of 30. Or, Fields get traded and shines while Caleb Williams pisses all over himself. Then two years later, the Bears are searching for their next quarterback because Ryan Poles doesn’t know how to pick them.

I base these words off of the last 30 years of watching this team. A lot of these quarterbacks may have been successful if it wasn’t for management putting them in a position to fail. Certainly, blame is to be shared. That goes for many other players.

The right general manager and coaches need to be there. The play-calling needs to make sense. By that, I mean not having Luke Getsy try some fuckery on 3rd and 1 that results in a turnover after the team is on the verge of scoring on a long drive. 3rd and 1 should be common sense to run it up the middle and give the team a new set of downs. And we’ve seen that garbage from all the other “offensive” coordinators.

But hey, what the fuck do I know? It’s not like I watch the games or anything.

The offseason is here. What do you want the Bears to do?

February 14, 2024

As I said before, keep Justin Fields and draft Caleb Williams as an insurance policy. So many are insisting that if the Bears take any quarterback in the draft, that they must trade Fields. Why? They have Fields under control for one more year along with a team option for a fifth year.

If Fields still sucks, then trade him at the deadline or pick up the fifth year and then trade him. It’s simple as that.

“CHAMPAGNE ROOM!”

If you listened to 670 The Score and remembered some of their goofy commercials about 15 years ago, you will get the reference of that headline.

While Steve “Mongo” McMichael was on his way out of football as I was growing up, I have early memories of him. But a lasting image was getting sacks in Tecmo Super Bowl with him. Great game and I believe I would get about 20-30 sacks a season in that video game.

Devin Hester and Julius Peppers also got in. Well-deserved. Obviously, more connected with Hester as he started his career when I was in college.

Happy for all three, especially for Mongo.

The Lions pulled a “Bears.” I feel sorry for them.

A 24-7 halftime lead. I guess it doesn’t mean as much these days since teams seem to get complacent.

But damn, Dan Campbell wasn’t very smart. I felt he cost the Lions a chance to go to the Super Bowl by refusing to try for field goals rather than go for it.

It was sad. I actually wanted to see them succeed because the only team that had as much heartbreak or more over the course of history other than the Bears is the Lions. They aren’t the Packers or Vikings.

The Super Bowl is set between the Chiefs and 49ers. It’s a rematch of four years ago.

Shane Waldron is coming to town to try to fix the most offensively inept franchise in NFL history.

January 22, 2024

Here we go again with another offensive coordinator. And as it went for the 150 offensive coordinators before him, we are wanting him to not be “offensive” to what an offense should look like.

As Dave mentioned in the previous thread, he somehow resurrected Geno Smith’s career after many shitty seasons.

We still don’t know what the Bears are going to do with that first pick. One would think it will either be Caleb Williams or Marvin Harrison Jr. The issue with this is that we know that no matter what the decision is, it will be the wrong one. At least that’s what history tells us. You would think it would actually turn around one of these years. But this team continues to draft busts.

This is it for Poles and Eberf-LOSE. A competent owner/CEO would tell these two to win the Super Bowl or they are gone. Anything less is a failure.

Well, one of the two clowns was fired. Will the Bears find a competent offensive coordinator?

January 13, 2024

As the first weekend of the playoffs are here, we are wishing the Bears were in the mix. Instead, they are home watching these games.

The Bears canned a sad excuse for an offensive coordinator in Luke Getsy. So here is a cry for help from the fans:

PLEASE FIND AN OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR WHO WILL CALL A RUN PLAY UP THE MIDDLE ON THIRD AND INCHES. PLEASE.

What’s taking so long to fire these two clowns?

January 9, 2024

I just don’t get it. Eberf-LOSE is responsible for blowing three double-digit fourth quarter leads. Luke Getsy is responsible for the ineptitude that is the offense of the Bears.

What more evidence does Ryan Poles need to see that these two need to take a hike? They had a chance to prove themselves worthy on the final day of the season against a rival team. The result? Dog farts.

A rational head coach wins those three games that were blown. A rational head coach puts the Bears in the playoffs with a chance to win the Super Bowl.
