I’ve barely paid attention to the depth chart. I guess that’s what happens when the season is going to be horseshit. No expectations in a positive manner are here. It’s all pessimism and rightfully so. This team sucks. And the worst part is that there is one extra game this season. Fuck Roger Goodell and the owners for letting that happen.

The Bald-Headed Dipshit doesn’t use football common sense by running the ball. What makes me or anyone else think that he will all-of-a-sudden, smarten up? The offensive line sucks. I am sure the defense will be the status-quo as well by giving up big plays right before halftime or at the end of the game that ends up being the difference.

I will be in Los Angeles watching this garbage in person. I will try to put an open thread up before the game since I may not be able to do the recap until the next day at the earliest. We all know what is going to happen.

First, sorry for this delay. I’ve been exhausted, busy and trying to fight off the shitty allergies that the humidity in Illinois has given me the last two weeks. I was paying half-attention to this game and nothing in it really mattered. So, I will just go with what I was hearing the idiot talking about earlier in the week during a press conference.

Matt Nagy (the idiot) was telling reporters something along the lines of how it takes “a few years” to get going. Huh? He basically told us that the system he has takes literally, years to master? Are you fucking kidding me?

This is the same guy who puts his entire team at a disadvantage every game of every year. This idiot makes Lovie Smith look like a genius.

“This offense, it takes a few years to get going. We saw that in Kansas City where it took a few years….After about three or four years, it started really picking up and going. I feel like we’re at that spot right now.”

Does anyone know of any other job where you told your boss something stupid like this and still could get away with it? If you told your boss that it “takes a few years for me to be good at my job” that it would work? Only the Chicago Bears, ladies and gentlemen.

I don’t want the Bears to lose. I want them to win every game and win the Super Bowl. But fuck, does it make it difficult to care with this guy coaching. For me, it’s either win the Super Bowl this year or get canned. Don’t just make the playoffs. Don’t just get to the Super Bowl. WIN THE SUPER BOWL OR YOU’RE GONE. That’s what George should tell him.

But instead, I am sure a contract extension is on the way for a lesser result.

What more do you need to know? This is what the defense will be come the regular season. Missed tackles, big plays, stupid penalties, fumbles, you name it. It happens every single year. Every. Single. Year.

Let’s not bash Mitch. Really. We all know he was put in a position to fail. Now, he’s on a real team with real coaches.

I was zoning out after Mitch lead the Bills to touchdowns on the first three drives. He literally drove the Bills down without any issues. This is what the Bears will be.

Can Ryan Pace please be fired now? His history of drafting players who are hurt before they suck is enough evidence by itself.

I know. It’s the preseason. But hey, why not do a recap?

In the first half, the Bears were in mid-season form. You saw penalties, fumbles, bad play-calls, false starts and the defense giving up big plays late right before halftime.

And can someone explain to me why Javon Wims is still on this team? This idiot should have been cut after that stupid penalty he took against the Saints in the regular season game last year. And what does he do against the same team in the playoffs? Exactly.

The Bears didn’t get a first down until there was under a minute to go in the first half. That sounds like very much like the Bears.

The second half happened and Justin Fields got into a groove. We can all remember the greatness of Caleb Hanie in the preseason. So, let’s not get too excited yet. These are the Bears we are talking about.

The defense locked it down in the second half as well by keeping the Dolphins scoreless.

Next week, Mitch Trubisky returns to Chicago with the Bills coming to town. Yay.

The first preseason game for the Bears is this Saturday against the Dolphins. For the last few weeks, training camp has been going on. And to be honest, I’ve been too busy to pay much attention to what’s going on.

But as we all know, it will be another shitty season of the team blowing games due to shitty play-calling, injuries, coaches lying about injuries and having those same coaches insulting our intelligence in press conferences with the decisions they make.

It doesn’t matter. These are not my opinions. These are facts. The Bears have been doing all of those things I mentioned above since my existence on this Earth. Nothing convinces me that it will magically change this year. It just isn’t happening.

What’s the point if the Bears have healthy running backs this year? The idiot head coach will just call pass plays anytime the situation calls for the ball to be ran. 3rd and inches? Bubble screen for a loss of two yards. Punt. Or worse, loss of the game.

I guess this is another reason for me not paying too much to what’s going on so far. When the games start, Matt Nagy will be just like every coach before him by telling the media “we had a good week of practice.” Good Lord.

If the players are smart, they rebel with the play-calling. If it’s 3rd and inches, instead of listening to Matt Nagy’s idiotic call to pass it, call an audible and do a quarterback sneak. Stack the line and get that yard. If he calls a bubble screen in another situation, audible for something else. That’s the only way I see anything positive happening.

How many assholes in Chicago sports have been fired in the last 13 years? I’ve definitely lost track. But regardless, we’ve done a good job showing how badly we wanted most of them gone.

It was August 1st, 2008. The old website was in dire need of an update. The person running it vanished.

As I sat there on my Compaq Presario desktop (with the monitor standing on a TV dinner tray), I got to work. Within an hour or two, this very website was started. I was living in a one-bedroom apartment where the bedroom was bigger than the kitchen and living room combined.

I seriously cannot put it all into words at this moment. At 35, I’ve spent a third of my life between both sites nearly everyday. That is crazy. Many have left. Some have stuck around. And others have found us recently. To all of you, seriously, thank you. It has become routine for me to say the same things every year around this time. But it’s true. I cannot express the gratitude enough. All of you keep this website going.

I have to personally thank Genrebuster for helping out here. When you’re an awesome musician like him, you’re in demand often. Make sure you give him credit for posting here because he’s on the go constantly. I should pay this guy.

No matter what, I will keep this site going just for the sentiment. But I must say that all of you are why I keep checking in and still post. Sure, it’s not as often as it use to be. But it’s great to still see a few of us together. All of you are the best bunch of pissed off bastards I’ve ever talked to. I don’t get paid to do this. In fact, I pay money just to have this site. It’s worth every penny I’ve spent on it.

So, it’s been a helluva few days. Rizzo, Bryant, Baez gone in the same day is hard to believe. But we all saw this coming…

Two years ago, I rescued a pitbull/rottweiler and named him Slash. He’s a good boy. He does the right thing by taking a shit in the neighbor’s yard. He knows all the commands and is the most loyal dog anyone could ask for.

When I pick up his shit, I put a plastic bag in this Chicago Bears’ trash can and get to work. Until recently, I was blinded by the irony of putting dog shit in a trash can with the Bears’ logo on it. I actually feel it’s an insult to dog shit to call the Bears “dog shit.”

With training camp arriving by the end of the month, we’re all just on standby waiting for another lost season. And again, I’ll re-iterate that Roger Goodell and the owners are pieces of shit by having 17 games in a season. Scumbags.

But hey, look at this dog. He knows that when he takes a shit, it’s going in the right trash can.

It’s almost 2:00 A.M. and I am finally getting around to this. I’ll try to keep it short.

This past Saturday, the greatest play-by-play voice in my lifetime, Marv Albert, called it quits. He went all the way to 80 before retiring.

This guy was my childhood. As young as I was, I remember every Bulls championship. I remember going absolutely nuts after every one of them. But Marv was at the center of the first five championships as the voice I heard on TV calling them. Bob Costas called the last one and while he’s definitely up there for the best, he isn’t Marv.

I made sure to watch most of the game Saturday night, especially the last quarter. Seeing his farewell after the game was bittersweet.

But I can’t be upset. I have to be blessed. For the last three decades, I’ve heard him call basketball games. I felt spoiled.

If there was one thing that would piss me off about Marv, it’s that he didn’t pull out all those years ago and thus, created The Kiss of Death to Chicago Sports, Kenny. I know that “curse” was broken last year in the form of two come-from-behind victories by the Bears in the first three weeks. But come on. WHY???

But let’s get back to why I called.

“They don’t make them like they use to.” And certainly, there will not be another Marv Albert. No one will even get that close. These new play-by-play guys are not even close to what would be deemed “great.”

Enjoy retirement, Marv. In fact, “YES!” I know you will.
