Finally, a game where the Bears didn’t drive me bat shit crazy. At the start, it looked like another atrocious effort from the defense. They really need to stop giving up touchdowns with ease on the first drive of games. But, after that, they smothered the Rams and contained Todd Gurley. Jay Cutler kicked ass and the Bears went on to win. I admit to being shocked that they played this well. There hasn’t been in a game in a few years where the Bears won like this. And the defense did well without Pernell McPhee.

Zach Miller – This is really a feel good story. He was hurt last year in the preseason after playing very well. I thought he wouldn’t be back with this team. He saves the Bears last week and this week, an amazing breakaway touchdown on the first drive. Then, he scored the next touchdown on a nice catch. He’s been a great compliment to Martellus Bennett. The Bears need both of these guys.

Jeremy Langford/Ka’Deem Carey – I put these two in the recap last week and rightfully so. They both had repeat stellar performances. First, Langford with a big catch and run for over 80 yards for a touchdown. He had 182 total yards. He lead the team in both rushing and receiving. With Carey, he gave Langford some rest and had some big runs for first downs. It appears that Matt Forte will be replaced by both Langford and Carey.

Jay Cutler – Well, he hasn’t been the Dickface that we all expected to him to be. He’s thrown some interceptions but hasn’t been as terrible in the last two games. He needs to keep making smart decisions. He had a big run today for a first down. He also has been smart with where he passes to.

Marc Mariani – This guy fucking sucks. Two weeks ago, he fumbled two punt returns in a row. Neither resulted in turnovers. This week, it caught up to the Bears. He fumbles on a return and luckily, the Rams only gained a field goal out of it. Good thing the Rams were terrible today. That could have opened up the flood gates. If John Fox doesn’t replace him with someone else, then he is no better than Lovie Smith or Marc Trestman. There are other players who are more than capable of taking back returns than Marc Mariani. I cringe every time the other team punts.

Tracy Porter – He found the fountain of youth today. He broke up numerous passes. Him and Antrel Rolle were both playing like they did five or six years ago. It isn’t a lack of effort from these two as to why they have been bad for most of the season. They have tried to adjust but their age has slowed them down. This game, they did their best to adjust and it worked. The defense was outstanding after that first drive.

Shea McClellin – He returned today and played well. He lead the team in tackles and ripped the ball out of Tre Mason for the turnover. He was awful since getting drafted. Maybe this new system is bringing out the best in him. He was actually playing decent before his injury.

Greg Robinson – Ladies and gentleman, I stand corrected. All this time, I was saying that Vladamir Ducasse was the worst offensive lineman in football. Greg Robinson of the St. Louis Rams proved me wrong. He leads the NFL in penalties for an offensive lineman. Today, three more holding penalties for Mr. Robinson. Vladamir Ducasse, you are now number two on the list. Congratulations, dickhead.

The Broncos are in Chicago next week. The Bears are slowly, but surely, moving up in the standings.

Well, I don’t know what’s more exciting than watching a pair of two-win teams facing off in the middle of the season on Monday Night Football. I really wish the Bears had at least, two more wins to make me think they have a chance of contending, but that’s just not the case. I expect tonight’s game to be a continuation of the tire fire that is the 2015 Chicago Bears.

Thanks to some awful calls and a penalty by a Chargers’ lineman, the Bears squeaked one out on the road. I think what pisses me off is that the Bears shit themselves against the Lions and Vikings in the previous two games. The Bears could easily be 5-3 and have an outside chance of contending for the division. Instead, we have this crap. But let’s get back to why the Bears won this game, shall we?

Jay Cutler – Cutler passed Sid Luckman as the all-time leader in franchise history for touchdown passes. Just to show you how bad the Bears have been over their 96 years of existence, Sid set that record in the 1950’s. Yes, Dickface throws a lot of interceptions. He had one tonight that was returned for a touchdown. However, he is still, the best quarterback this franchise has ever seen. These last three games have been his best games all year. He’s not going to be cut after next season. The crop of college quarterbacks doesn’t look good for the next two years anyway, so Cutler is the best option.

Penalties – Those yellow things were thrown all night. The Bears had some after the plays ended. Kyle Long might have said something that went too far for an unsportsmanlike. The one that saved the Bears was illegal man downfield that should have been a touchdown for the Chargers. But hey, rules are rules, I suppose.

Jeremy Langford and Ka’Deem Carey: Well, more of Langford in this one part of the recap, but Carey did pretty damn well, too. Langford had an amazing catch early in the game. I can’t remember if that drive lead to the first touchdown or the last missed field goal for Robbie Gould. Speaking of overrated…

Robbie Gould – Fuck this guy. He did nothing to help the Bears. And this overrated asshole will remain a Bear for the next few years because Phil Emery caved in two years ago and gave this turd a long-term contract. “I have to feed my family” is what he said back then. I know I keep bringing that up, but when a professional athlete who has made millions of dollars in the previous eight years says something like that, it’s an insult to the fans.

LaMarr Houston – So nice of this guy to finally show up in his second season with the team. Good Lord. He sacks Rivers on the final drive and as he did his usual celebration, I couldn’t help but think back to last year. Yes, you remember this. It was the game where the Bears were down 30 or whatever it was against the Patriots. The Bears were so bad, Brady took the rest of the game off and let Jimmy Garoppolo play. Houston sacks him, does his celebration and wait, what’s that? He tore his ACL celebrating a sack on a backup quarterback with his team down 30? Sweet. Well, he sacked Rivers twice in three plays, did his celebration both times and didn’t get it. It proved to be the difference.

Bears win. The Rams are next in St. Louis. I’m going to bed.

I admit, I wasn’t very excited about Fred Hoiberg being the new head coach this past summer. However, he is winning me over early on. Bulls are 4-2 after their hard-fought win against the Thunder on Thursday night. I know that they had their asses handed to them by the Hornets on Tuesday. But, the Bulls are a dumb decision by Derrick Rose against the Pistons away from being 5-1. What I have seen so far this season is what I have been screaming about for the last five years. Just give me a team that has a head coach who will play just about everybody on the team instead of going with the same five or six guys the entire game.

If you check the box scores from this season so far (cue Yeti), you will see that Hoiberg is playing at least ten players each game. ThomASS on the other hand? I can promise that maybe seven players would only see the court so far. Hoiberg is already playing three more players on average. What does that mean? Well, that equals more rest for the starters and thus, containing energy for future games such as the playoffs. If someone can correct me if I am wrong, go ahead, but I believe Rose and Butler are averaging five or six minutes less per game than they did with ThomASS coaching.

On Tuesday, yes, the Bulls were annihilated by the Hornets. The Bulls lost by 25 and gave up 130 points. However, Hoiberg did something that ThomASS almost never did: Play everybody. He’s actually played mostly the entire team the first six games.

Doug McDermott, who couldn’t sniff the court last year because the impostor of a head coach, started Thursday and has been a solid contributor to this team. He is playing significant minutes and hitting big shots. Hoiberg knows better than to play Kirk Hinrich who has “injury”. No, he sucks. And Tony Snell? He started the first five games of the season but came off the bench against the Thunder and played decently.

I have mentioned here many times over the years that if the Bulls lose this way, I can still be pissed about them losing but not how they lost. It’s the old saying of “losing the battle to win the war”. If Hoiberg continues to put the Bulls in the best position to win a championship, I am fine with that. Yes, there is still the moron known as Joakim Noah with him getting more turnovers than points in games. Noah told the media he “accepts” his role on the bench. Too bad he can’t accept that he sucks. And once the Bulls dispose of this turd at the trading deadline or at season’s end when his contract is up, Bobby Portis will be playing.

I am not here saying that the Bulls are going to contend. I think there are still some problems that is keeping them from beating the Cavaliers or anybody in the West. However, from what I’ve seen so far, this is how a team should be ran during games.

If anybody wants to disagree, feel free. But with the exception of the game against the Hornets, you don’t have a strong argument when it comes to this.

What a PATHETIC bunch of losers.

Bears vs. Vikings at Soldier Field this weekend. The Bears must go 8-2 to have a chance to make the playoffs. Anybody see it happening? Yeah, I didn’t think so either.

On Tuesday, the Bulls will begin their 50th season. Sadly, they have not been relevant since 1998. I am trying my hardest to be optimistic this year. Of course, the roadblock known as LeBron James stands in their way when it comes to winning the East. However, if it’s any indication of what I saw in the preseason, if the Bulls were to fail to get past the Cavaliers, at least I know that the coach put the team in the best position to win.

I can just take the last preseason game as an example. At the end of the game, Doug McDermott was in the game. In fact, he hit the game-winner a single second left. This entire preseason, Fred Hoiberg has played the entire team. He’s given just about everyone a chance to play. And it appears, that the 12 or 13 guys on the roster will be given an opportunity.

And that’s all I’ve asked for over the last five years.

With ThomASS, it was play six guys and the other four or five stay put. That’s what killed those teams. I still feel that Hoiberg was dealt damaged goods. Derrick Rose has always been an idiot but these injuries have exposed his lack of social skills even more. When it comes to Joakim Noah, he’s became dumber by not adjusting his game according to his own injuries. Unfortunately, the Bulls are stuck with him.

We’re going to find out starting Tuesday if Hoiberg is going to continue to use the entire team in games and not play five or six guys 40+ minutes. The Bulls need to stay healthy to have any chance. We’re also going to find out if he’s going to bench others for shitty play (i.e. Joakim Noah driblling the ball up court because he thinks he’s a point guard).

With what I’ve seen, the Bulls are closer to a championship with Fred Hoiberg than they were with ThomASS.

Well, Jay Ratliff was released by the Bears the other day. According to several reports, Lake Forest Police were called to Halas Hall because Ratliff was angry. I am not sure if his anger reached Chucky-like levels, but many are saying he has been showing up out of shape and “unfit”. Police were called to escort him away.

Until now, I had no idea that Ratliff had issues with players/management. Word is that he had a similar heated argument with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. He’s been a good player but couldn’t stay healthy throughout his career. His three-game suspension to start the season didn’t help his his cause and it hurt the team.

I think Eddie Goldman has played so well at nose tackle. Every since switching to a 3-4, the Bears have extra depth on the line and were able to trade Jared Allen and now, release Ratliff.

And let’s not forget what’s most important here: The Bears cannot and will not lose this Sunday.

Fuck this defense. Fuck the stupid penalties. Fuck Adam Gase for his shitty play-calling. Fuck Kyle Fuller and the rest of the shitty secondary. Fuck John Fox for his shitty clock management. Oh, I hate blaming referees but this game was poorly officiated. But in the end, there was no excuse for this loss. The Bears had it and pissed themselves at the end of the 4th and in overtime.

Honestly, I am too damn tired to recap this game. I just sat through nearly four hours of shitty football. This was another case of a team trying to give a game away with the Bears saying in return, “no thanks”.

The Bears have a bye next week. After that, it’s the dangerous Vikings.
