The product of professional wrestling as a whole has been real shitty ever since 2002. At the time, TNA wrestling was just up and running, the WWF was forced to be renamed “WWE” (Thanks World Wildlife Fund…Assholes) and the brand extension was coming into affect at the time with RAW and Smackdown! having separate rosters. In the last seven years, there have been some bright moments but not enough to get some of the fans back into the swing of things.

Recently, I have been watching a lot of old wrestling tapes that I have had since 1998. Watching those videos made me realize that the good old days are long gone. I watch wrestling these days and seeing how bad it is, I’ve realized that I have been taking the old days for granted. Maybe it is because I am older now that I have become a fan that appreciates a good wrestling match. In addition to that, I tend more to root for someone who can actually wrestle and do a promo well than root for the good guy over the bad guy.

Here is my take on both TNA and WWE:

TNA – Sucks (Sorry Robert). No future stars. Samoa Joe is a joke. The superstars are old and past their prime and the young guys just don’t have what it takes to make it big. I don’t watch TNA as much as I do WWE but from what I’ve seen, it just doesn’t seem great. The only stars making it in the main event are the cast offs like Kurt Angle, Booker T, Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash and Sting. Now, all of those guys were great especially Kurt Angle. You can make an argument that Angle is one of the best wrestlers ever. That being said, they have to pass the torch. I respect the fact that they still want to be there and that is fine but don’t take up the young prospect’s potential by being a main event hog.

WWE – As much as I cannot stand Triple H, John Cena and Randy Orton (Needs a pair of pants) week in and week out, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. There was a discussion forum on Wrestlezone.com about a month ago and in there were fan’s projections for the next couple years of who could be in the main event. The three wrestler’s that I think can be the top stars in the next couple of years are Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne and Dolph Ziggler.

All three guys have what it takes to be champion. Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler were both amateur wrestlers. Swagger is a tough, young kid who is willing to learn and wants to be there. He also has the ability and athleticism similiar to another great amateur and pro wrestler named Kurt Angle. For his size, he is still a very fast athlete in the ring. Ziggler reminds most of a young Mr. Perfect. He is smooth, cocky and good on the mic like Swagger. Unlike Swagger though, he isn’t as quick.

Evan Bourne is a high flyer. He style is similar to Rey Mysterio. Both of those guys are proof that you don’t have have to be 6’6 and 220 to be the top guy. For his size, he can still wrestle with the best. He is the most athletic out of the three. He is very quick. I don’t think I’ve seen him cut a promo on the mic in quite a while so that might be one thing holding him back. Good thing for Bourne is that he has time to work on it. Once he gets his promo work up and running, his full potential will be recognized. When his music hits though, the crowd jumps to their feet.

There was one other wrestler who was mentioned but in my opinion sucks. He is John Morrison. I think he is a good wrestler. However, his mic work sucks badly and he needs a new pair of pants. Oh, I forgot. His mic work sucks and he needs new pants. Did I mention his pants look like one a ferry would wear? What a turd.

Last year on August 1st, this site was started. This should have been written a couple days back but I don’t get around here much often anymore. So I want to say happy belated birthday to this site. And if you are counting the years at the old website, this place is about four years old.

In the one year this site has been around, there have been over 50,000 hits. On a couple of those days, the hits reached about a 1,000. If you type in “Fire Jim Hendry” in Yahoo’s search, this site is the first one that comes up. I am glad that this place is being noticed other than the three people that read it. 😉

I want to thank everybody who contributes to this site. I also want to thank Keith for taking some time out of his day to help out here.

If it isn’t for any of you guys coming here on an almost daily basis, this place isn’t up and running. This is your site as well.

This article is about two days late but I’ve been busy and I don’t make it to this place as often as I use to. I am only here every couple of days and that is to make sure things are going smoothly with the threads.

The Blackhawks fired Dale Tallon the other day and promoted Scott Bowman as the general manager. Now, Tallon wasn’t a bad general manager and that is the thing that frustrated me. Every player who was on this past year’s playoff team was drafted, traded for or signed by him. He built this team to win and win now. It just seemed odd that John McDonough and Rocky Wirtz decided to can him after the draft and free agency period. In a nutshell, it seemed like they were planning this firing but only after Tallon did the “dirty work”.

I am not saying that promoting Bowman was a good or bad decision, that will probably be decided in the next few years. As far as right now though, Dale Tallon didn’t deserve to get fired. John McDonough said at the press conference that they trust their new general manager to make decisions in the best interest of the franchise. If the Blackhawks organization have their so called “trust” in Scott Bowman, why didn’t they fire Tallon right after the season ended?

With all of this happening, Martin Havlat issued a statement on Wednesday saying that he wasn’t resigned because of McDonough and not Tallon. I believe Havlat in saying that McDonough has this ego that no one can contain. McDonough probably interfered in the decision of whether or not to resign Havlat or not. In this situation, I am going to believe the player over the organazation because I do not remember hearing anything bad from anybody about Marty.

Tallon has had his fair share of stupid decisions. Cristobal Huet is the obvious one followed by Brian Campbell. Then the crap about not turning in contract offers in time to some players was reported. Putting those decisions aside, he took this team from NHL hell to one of the elite teams in the league. If this team happens to win the Stanley Cup in the next couple of years, Dale Tallon should be the first one to get credit.

Can someone tell me with that amount of money how many hookers that would buy? I am pumped about this signing. One of the best players on the Red Wings is now a member of the Blackhawks.

In other news, Ben Gordon is probably on his way to the Pistons. The Bulls simply cannot afford the guy if they are going to try to get a post player during this off season.

There was a trade rumor I read recently about Kirk Hinrich possibly being traded in the offseason. In a way, I have a problem with that happening because he is the only guy on the team that can play defesne and play it well. Unless it is a trade for a post player like Amare Stoudemire or Chris Bosh, he should be kept on this team.

What a sweet cover. Also, thanks goes out to reader Ron Santo’s Legs for texting me about the news that the Blackhawks resigned Dave Bolland for five years. Now if we can just get a goalie who can actually stop a puck consistently. No. Cristobal Huet is not the answer.

Greetings. I know some of you are wrestling fans so I have something to get off my chest. While reading my wrestling news over the weekend, I stumped across a story about how many main stream media outlets reported that Donald Trump purchased WWE’s flagship show “Monday Night Raw” last week.

For people who are not even wrestling fans should know that any “storyline” that is not injury related is generally scripted. Too bad the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press and the New York Times failed to realize that. I was watching Raw last week and I even knew that this was nothing but a script.

I also read that the Securities and Trades Commission is trying to get some kind of lawsuit for not sending paperwork to them if a major company is sold. Then after that, the USA network issued a press release saying that the sale of RAW from Vince McMahon to Donald Trump was a storyline and not real at all.

If that is the case, then I must say some of these organizations are dumber than I thought.

I was going to go to RAW in Green Bay Monday night but failed to get tickets because it has been sold out for a few weeks. I am however heading to the Smackdown! taping in Milwaukee Tuesday night. The lady is a big Jeff Hardy fan and she wants to see him wrestle at least once before he might hang up the boots. The reason he might be done wrestling in a month or two is due to contract negotiation issues. Also, the fact he has clearly stated that he is mentally and physically tired. He is 31 and has been in the WWF since he was 16.

For some of you who are fans and looking to do something, go to a wrestling event. Yes. Wrestling is more faker than some whore’s tits in Beverly Hills but it is a fun thing to go to. It is isn’t as fun as it was in the 80’s or mid-90’s but I still enjoy it in some way. You can spend about $40 and get about three to four hours of entertainment and I think it’s worth it.
