When someone has a no-hitter/perfect game going, do not say they have one going. That is why they show the boxscore after every inning to tell you what is going on. I understand the commentator is suppose to inform but that is one thing you do not do.
He has been doing this for the last couple years and he has done it almost every time Harden had one in the early innings. He did it again Wednesday night when Lilly was pitching. At the end of the 5th inning, Len said that Lilly had not given up any hits. In the beginning of the 6th, Lilly gave up a lead-off double. Coincedence? I think not.
It is not coincedence that when an announcer mentions it, that all of a sudden a pitcher gives up a hit or walk. It happens 99% of the time. During a White Sox game on the radio earlier this year would be an example would Gavin Floyd was pitching one. Chris Rongey mentioned it then seconds later, Floyd gave up a hit.
Maybe I am too superstitious but the proof is there.
I like Len a lot and he has gotten better over the few years but seriously, SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH when there is a situation like a no-hitter or perfect game.
