Those are just some of the idiotic things John Fox has repeated during his tenure as the head coach of our beloved Chicago Bears. I didn’t want him here at the beginning and the three years he was here confirmed that I was right in my assumptions.

Now, the search begins for a new head coach. Let’s pray the new one doesn’t drink the water at Halas Hall.

2017 really sucked in terms of sports for me. The Bulls are re-building (although it doesn’t seem like it the last three weeks). The Blackhawks have not been the Blackhawks (more on this when I have more time). And then there’s the Bears. For the fourth straight season, it’s ten or more losses. The theme seems to be: One step forward, three steps back. Not good.

I will assume there will be a posting on New Year’s Day or the following day with news on the Bears. I am confident that John Fox will get fired Monday morning. But I wouldn’t put it past the Bears to let him keep his job. They’re that dumb.

The story isn’t what happened on the field. It’s what is going on in management. And we all have every reason to believe the report that no other than Ted Phillips, is on the search for the next head coach. So, they hire Ryan Pace to be the general manager. That’s the person who hires the coach and drafts the players. Instead, a life-long accountant is making decisions for a football team. Makes sense I suppose. The link is below. I was pretty disinterested with this game from start to finish. Trubisky was very “Bears” with his three interceptions (all in the second half). This just sucked.

We shouldn’t be surprised at this. But, it just furthers the argument that ownership and management of the Bears have no idea what to do. I do not doubt that George McCaskey wants to win. He even is willing to shell out the cash. The problem is that Ryan Pace has no idea what he’s doing. How stupid do you have to be to hire a coach that has been fired two different times before? How stupid do you have to be to trade away two extra draft picks just to move up ONE spot?

And don’t get me wrong, he’s drafted some pretty good players too. However, the entire body of work isn’t very good.

Four games are left in the season. I wasn’t surprised, but was still pissed off that John Fox was doing his usual press conferences this week. He should have been fired and shouldn’t ever be seen near Halas Hall again. This franchise has made themselves into the laughingstock of the NFL. Even the 49ers, Giants and Browns have more of a chance to contend before the Bears do.

Also, Soldier Field and it’s 60,000 capacity will have plenty of empty seats.

I will go with 25,000 no-shows. I pray it’s 50,000, but I don’t think we’re that lucky.

If these empty seats don’t wake up George McCaskey to make changes, we’re fucked.

P.S. – Robbie Gould is playing on a 1-10 team (that will probably beat the Bears) to feed his family.

Trust me, it wasn’t even this close. I won’t give the defense too much crap since the offense couldn’t get going all game. But, this was very bad.

Cairo Santos: He’s not Connor Barth. And even though he missed that first field goal, he made the next one. That’s one more than Barth would have had. So, there’s a positive.

Fans of Philadelphia teams: Never been to this city nor do I want to go. Their fans suck. They actually have a jail with a judge in the bottom of the stadium for fans who are “unruly”. Trust me, I hate dealing with fans of my own teams as they are dumb as shit. But at least I am not from Philadelphia. It was sweet seeing the Blackhawks beat the Flyers in their house in 2010 for the Stanley Cup. Their fans deserve losers and may their precious Eagles lose in the playoffs or better yet, the Super Bowl.

Next up: Nobody really cares, but the 49ers are in town. If the Bears lose this game, Fox is done on January 1st.
