Meet the new Bears; same as the old ones – Virginia and Roger enjoy the game together

Well, it wasn’t a blowout. But let’s be honest, the defense of the Bears still sucks. They couldn’t stop a nosebleed today. The defense had only forced two punts. Everytime it went to 3rd down, you knew the Packers were going to convert. It doesn’t matter if the Bears have a “great” coordinator. If the players aren’t there, it doesn’t matter.

There is just so much shit to talk about. From penalties to horrible play-calling, it’s there. First, Kyle Fuller late in the game decided to not turn around and that ultimately, decided the game. Before that, the Bears decide to pass four straight times at the goal line. Matt Forte nearly had 150 yards rushing and as soon as they get to the goal line, they pass four straight? One was nearly intercepted and the Bears turned it over on down.

Speaking of being intercepted, Dickface met his quota of at least one interception per game against the Packers. And why did he even attempt that? There were three other receivers open. I’ll never know but I am sick of it. And even with all of that, the defense, once again, couldn’t stop the Packers. The offense was doing all of the right things by eating up the clock and keep Rodgers off the field, but when was on there, it was a nightmare.

I think the problem I have is I am more pissed off when the Bears lose a close game. I fucking hate that they do this shit all the time when they are expected to lose by 30 and instead, they actually put up a fight.

0-1 and the Cardinals are up next at home. Yours truly will be there to witness the PATHETIC in person.

Well, folks, the NFL season is here. Feel free to add your thoughts on the Bears. I am expecting a lot of ANGER after Sunday’s opener against Packers. A majority of the country will be watching this game as Fox’s #1 announcers in Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be calling it. After that, we will be stuck with kiss of death to Chicago Sport’s announcers, Dick Stockton and Kenny Albert to call games for the Bears on Fox. Fuck those guys.

Welcome back, erniesarmy.

Maddon

Ernie, I just saw your comment on the Cubs game tonite referencing Pedro Strop’s performance. Fro hasn’t commented on the Cubs in a very long time, so I’m going to use your comment in this post and invite longtime contributors – as well as newer contributors or those who merely “observer” – to weigh in on what is currently happening with the Cubs.

Great to hear from you, ernie…don’t be a stranger!

erniesarmy Says:

Sorry, Fro, gotta vent: How in the world is Maddon continuing to bring in Strop when he blows, or nearly blows, every game he is in? Oh, well, I guess he would say to me, “Whatta want me to do?” He would be right you know, other than Rondon – who’s no Mariano Rivera either – he has no one to call on in a game like today’s who can shut the door.

I think even Chucky would agree that Lester deserved better. Pitched his butt off for seven innings, and then Pedro – Richard – Francisco give it all up. No playoff series wins this year, not until that bullpen is fixed.

The Bears need help on the offensive line and yet, they cut Jordan Mills.

September 8, 2015

It’s been a while since I went into a football season as pissed off as I am now. Over the last few years, I have been more optimistic that the Bears would be competitive. Instead, it’s been horse shit.

With the Bears desperately in need of offensive line, they decided to cut Jordan Mills in favor of keeping Vladamir Ducasse. Let me say that I don’t think it’s going to matter at the end of the day if Mills makes a difference. However, he played really well two years ago and injuries messed things up last year. This preseason, he was healthy and played well in the final game against the Browns. I know that doesn’t mean much, but after hearing about Ducasse’s past on the radio, I came to the conclusion that this was a stupid decision.

This is from Ducasse’s Wikipedia page:

Performing well in training camp, Ducasse earned the starting job at left guard during the 2013 NFL Season. However, due to penalties and struggles, Ducasse was benched in favor for rookie Brian Winters. Ducasse played in all 16 games with 4 starts for the 2013 season. He became a free agent for the first time in his career after the season ended.

That’s just fantastic. So, a third-year guy in Jordan Mills, who played very well next to Kyle Long in 2013, became injured last year and now, is healthy, ends up getting cut for the reincarnation of Frank Omiyale?

I have a bad feeling this is going to be the 2009 Bears all over again with the offensive line. Dickface is going to get pummeled into the ground many times because the line will be like turnstiles.

Is Jerry Angelo secretly making moves up there?

It’s Friday night. Have nothing else to do? Well, I have an idea.

September 4, 2015

Well, the suck fest that is the 2015 Chicago Bears will start in about nine days. Tonight, Fox 32 Chicago is “Must-see TV”.

Yes, folks, look at the picture of my TV Guide below. Fox 32 Chicago presents: Highlights of the 2014 Chicago Bears.

IMG_20150904_244815860

I would have to assume some of those highlights include Marc Trestman lying to the media with not knowing about players fighting in the locker room. I think others will include Mel Tucker looking like a deer in the headlights on the sidelines, Aaron Kromer crying to players in meetings and George McCaskey telling everyone that things are going to be just fine.

And rumor has it, there will be unseen footage of Ted Phillips wiping his ass BEFORE he takes a shit. I never thought of that before in my life. But hey, if Ted thinks it’s a great idea, then it must be.

I can’t wait for 9:30. I am so excited!!!

Suck our footballs, Goodell.

This is great. Tom Brady has won his appeal against known scumbag and NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell. Whether you like Tom Brady or you don’t, it must have felt great to see Goodell lose this fight. It doesn’t change the fact that the owners will still keep this ass licker around, but it is a small victory for us fans who still love this game, despite the fact that it has been watered down with rule changes.

Good for Tom Brady. I admit to being a fan of him, but as I said above, whether or not you rooted for him, a majority of fans wanted Goodell to lose. And he did.

Fuck Roger Goodell. And fuck the owners for keeping this moron around.

Keep fighting, gents.

Jake Arrieta pitched the sixth no-hitter in the majors this season and second against the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 days, leading the Chicago Cubs to a 2-0 victory Sunday night.

Dress rehearsal: Bengals 23 Bears M*A*S*H Unit 10

August 29, 2015

This game was just awful. The Bears already have about 11 players hurt (or so it seems). Four of them, are the top four receivers. Tonight, Jimmy Clausen, Will Sutton and someone else (forgot already) were added to that list. I don’t know if these are all just freak injuries or the fact that Roger Goodell continues to change the rules, but it’s getting annoying. I never root for an injury on any team. You always want your team healthy and to beat the other team at full strength. Also, too many fucking penalties in this game. The Bears had 12 of them for a total of 117 yards. There were so many on each side late, that I decided to do paperwork while having the game on in the background. For those who didn’t watch, consider yourselves lucky.

Offense: Cutler failed, once again, to lead the Bears to a touchdown. His numbers looked fine: 13/17 for 98 yards. But he was sacked and had a couple of shitty passes. Jimmy Clausen got taken out of the game after sliding for a first down late. It appeared that he had a concussion. That’s just fantastic. We are ready for David Fales or Shane Carden.

The offense couldn’t do shit tonight. The only touchdown was on a blocked punt return. And to make matters worse, there was one drive late that had the Bears go 3 plays for -7 yards (yes, negative 7 yards).

Defense: Just an absolute PATHETIC display was on hand in Cincinnati. The first drive for the Bengals was 16 plays, 77 yards in 9:06. The Bengals scored two more times before the half. Andy Dalton left the game with a neck injury (doesn’t look serious, so that’s good). In comes A.J. McCarron and he threw the ball with ease. The defense of the Bears was it’s usually-self.

There was a bunch more I could talk about but this game was just completely out of whack. I hate to say this, but this could be a preview for what happens in the season. The Bears will win a few games. They may even beat a team that they have no business beating. But, I say the Bears go 5-11. This team is just a clusterfuck and all of these injuries are making it worse. The Bears are in a lot of trouble.

Derrick Rose, you are dumber than a box of rocks.

I should be in bed right now. Instead, I read about this shit.

I don’t know if this is true or not. But the fact that TMZ is reporting it (they’re usually right on everything), doesn’t convince me that it’s false. If this is true, the Bulls should do the right thing and release this asshole. Forget if there is an arrest. But even if it’s just a settlement of money, let this guy go. He’s proven to be a dumbass in society with him having someone else take his SAT’s to complaining to the media that he wants to stay healthy so he can go to his son’s graduation.

Fuck this guy.

Refreshing.

Say what you will about the past – I sure have – but the Cubs are making things interesting (for a change).

The Cubs completed their first four-game sweep of the Braves since August 1968. This was their fourth four-game sweep of the year, their most since 1945.

Chicago improved to a season-high 20 games over .500 and is 13-3 in its last 16 games.
