Honestly, I don’t have the energy to post a recap. All you have to do is read all of the other recaps from every other loss, replace the team and players with names on the Packers and just go from there. It’s the same shit every fucking week. I am sick and tired of this crap. The Bears have dropped out of the wild card spots and now, need to win out and get help just to get in. The only good coming out of all of this is that Lovie Smith is finished as head coach of the Chicago Bears two weeks from tomorrow.
We cannot sit here and expect other teams to lose just to help the Bears. That was my problem these last few weeks. I was sitting there, praying for other teams to lose just so the Bears can hold onto a playoff spot.
Next week: Arizona Cardinals.

Now that we have proved all of the idiots wrong in the last few weeks by witnessing the Bears flush the season down the drain (again), I wanted to give more reasons why the McCaskey family isn’t doing what it should be with this franchise. When the Bears were 8-3, you figured that with the five games remaining, that they just need to win two of them to get into the playoffs. Now with three games left, it would probably be certain that they would need to win the next two games, if not all three, to just get in.
Even though I want Lovie gone, the players should be held accountable too. Receivers are dropping passes, the defense is falling apart and Jay Cutler nearly had his neck ripped off on Sunday. I hate to say this, but it’s only a matter of time before his career ends because the offensive line can’t protect him. For all of this crap to stop, changes need to be made. I am about to give two prime examples of teams that are making changes and why it pisses me off that the Bears don’t take notice.
Baltimore Ravens: They fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron today and that is what gave me the idea to write this post in the first place. The Ravens realize that what they have right now calling the plays isn’t working so they replace him with someone else. Their loss on Sunday was the first time, they lost two in a row since 2009. This isn’t a guarantee to work but that isn’t the point. They know if it isn’t going to work now, something needs to be done differently. Well, when it’s the Bears you are talking about losing a few games in a row or a big game, you’re rewarded with a raise and/or contract extension.
Indianapolis Colts: They are 9-4. You read that? 9-4. Why? Because they cleaned house after a two-win season. Did owner Jim Irsay give a shit about whether or not Peyton Manning was there? No. Injuries are never an excuse. Good teams have players ready to go. If not, a franchise should do something about it. They fired their general manager and coach. And even though it was a money situation, they declined to keep the greatest quarterback of the last 15 years. They draft Andrew Luck, they protect him with a good offensive line and they bring in the right players to surround him. Now, they are on their way to the playoffs. How far they go is yet to be determined but I’ll say this, they are in much better position to win a championship than the Bears.
Of course, the Bears organization isn’t going to do anything similar to the examples I have provided. I mean, they did fire Jerry Angelo but getting rid of some players that have sucked for a while? Not a chance. Fire Lovie? That would be insane!
I am going to make this quick because to be honest, it’s the same shit every week. I wrote after the loss to the 49ers that the clock struck midnight on this team and that is holding up. The Bears are quickly dropping out of the playoff race.
Offense: Fuck Mike Tice and his shitty play-calling. Fuck Kellen Davis. Devin Hester has no business being on offense. Lovie Smith is a fucking idiot for continuing to throw this guy out there. Cutler sucked all game too. His first interception set up a touchdown and the second one was returned for another one. He also overthrew his receivers all game.
Defense: Adrian Peterson ran all over the Bears today. Chris Conte sucks too.
Special Teams: Robbie Gould had a hamstring injury I believe during warm-ups. The Bears didn’t need him in this game anyway.
The Bears have the Cardinals next week on the road. The only good news coming out of all of this is that we are one week closer to Phil Emery announcing the day after the regular season ends that Lovie Smith has been fired.
Correction: The Bears play the Packers next week at home. Ah fuck. That just makes things so much better.

“All I want for Christmas is a decent Bears team.”

Nothing. It’s the same old shit every fucking time especially against the Seahawks. Can the schedulers please stop making these two teams play each other every year? Russell Wilson lead drives of 98 and 80 yards respectively in a row against this “great” defense that the morons think the Bears have. Let’s not forget what Lovie did on the offensive side of the ball either. Also, fuck Pete Carroll. Looking at him makes me want to punch him in the fucking throat. The Bears sit at 8-4 and while that may not be a bad place for other teams, it is for them. Ten wins gets you into the playoffs. I highly doubt in these last four games that the Bears have two more wins in them. Not after this game.
Offense: Lovie Smith and Mike Tice have to be the dumbest fucking coaches I’ve ever seen and we have had to go through shitheads like Ron Turner, John Shoop, Dick Jauron and Terry Shea. The Bears are up 7-0 and driving, it’s 4th and inches, and what has been the play that I have been screaming about all these years that works 99.9% of the time? A quarterback sneak. How fucking hard is that? Instead, Michael Bush is stuffed at the line and with no attempt to stretch the ball. Even when the coaches aren’t at fault, Earl Bennett drops a wide open pass down the field that would have given the Bears a chance to open up the game. The Bears left at least ten points off the scoreboard. Want more stupid coaching decisions? Before the Seahawks final drive of regulation, it’s 3rd and long and instead of trying to get the first down, Matt Forte is given the ball for about seven yards leaving the Bears to punt on 4th and 10. Cutler and Marshall can’t do everything by themselves.
Defense: This “prevent” defense just does wonders for the Bears. It’s truly pathetic when any team gets two long drives for touchdowns in consecutive positions. The entire defense sucked ass. Russell Wilson took out his I-Pass and tore everyone on defense a new asshole. I am sick and tired of this fucking shit. We’ve had to deal with this crap ever since Lovie took over. How fucking hard is it for the secondary to stay on their receivers? They were wide open the entire game. Can I ask all of you a question? What “great” defense gives up over 459 yards in a game?
Special Teams: Eric Weems is a fucking idiot. First, he fumbles the ball on a punt. Then, on the last drive of the 4th quarter, he takes the ball out of the back of the end zone instead taking a knee and saving seconds. That’s about it for this part.
Technically, the Bears are two games out of first place. I am putting the Packers at 9-3 (They own the tie-breaker anyway) because of that Monday night debacle about two months ago. It is truly pathetic that the Bears are in this position. They should easily be 10-2 right now and instead, they’re 8-4 and fighting a few other teams for a playoff spot. The Bears pay a visit to the Vikings next week.
One more thing I want to add before leaving to you guys to comment:
One of my favorite coaching figures in Rick Majerus passed away over the weekend with health issues. He left too early. He was a damn good basketball coach with Utah years ago. The one memory I’ll never forget is the following clip when he was an analyst for ESPN. I remember watching this segment live while I was in college as I am laughing my ass off. Just look at the response from Steve Lavin. Enjoy.

Fine, the Bears win. But at what cost? As soon as Cutler returns, five starters go down like flies in this game. It’s been stressed here enough that all teams have injuries and that it’s not an excuse. True. However, with the Bears, there isn’t any depth. I still can’t figure out how teams like the Packers and Ravens can continue to win consistently, yet, they have a roster full of injuries while the Bears suck ass until their starters come back.
For these next few games, some new guys are going to have to step up in order to give this team a chance to win. Forte, Hester, Spencer, Briggs and Tillman all had injuries and could be out for longer than a game or two. The highlight of my day wasn’t seeing the Bears winning, but my brother and I watching a lady around my age a section over throw up on two women on her way down from the stands in the United Club level. It wasn’t even halftime yet and this skank already had too much to drink. I also saw a guy wearing a Cade McNown jersey, another with a Olin Kruetz and one more with a Devin Aromashodu (Bears). Oh my.
Offense: Seriously? Is Mike Tice a fucking idiot? Let me give you one example of why I ask this. It’s late in the game, the Bears just have to play the clock and Cutler is throwing all over the place. I am sorry for continuing to say “RUN THE FUCKING BALL” every recap but come on, RUN THE FUCKING BALL. There were plenty of times throughout this game when they should have done that but instead, Cutler throws a pick and was nearly killed another couple times by Jared Allen. Now on to the good stuff. The offense dominated time of possession which lead to two long drives for points. We need to see more of that. Cutler did play much better and he seemed to have a bit better protection in this game. Forte still had an alright game despite fumbling it on the first drive. Michael Bush played much better as well getting two touchdowns. Forte getting injured was shitty on every level. He did walk off on his own power so maybe it’s just a sprained ankle.
Some of the throws that Cutler threw to Marshall drove me ape shit. Marshall dropped a touchdown pass (he seems to do this every now and then) but how can you not love this guy? When thrown to in triple coverage, he still finds a way to catch the ball. He became the first wide receiver to get over 1,000 yards for the Bears since Marty Booker in 2002. If that doesn’t tell you how horrible the wide receivers have been for the Bears all of these years, I don’t know what will. Matt Spaeth actually held onto a pass and for a touchdown, no less. Lastly, Kellen Davis sucks. He should seriously consider another profession.
Defense: I thought the defense played much better today. Then again, they played the Vikings and it’s a trend that we’ve seen all year. On both sides of the football, they play well against average to below average teams and suck against the elite ones. Both offensive turnovers led to short field position and the ten points so I won’t complain too much. Ponder must have crapped himself after a couple of those plays. Adrian Peterson did have 100 yards rushing but he does that to just about every team. He fumbled the ball twice and that always helps. Let’s continue to look on the bright side though. Chris Conte had an interception and he didn’t commit any stupid penalties this game. That’s something to build on. The defense also stopped the Vikings on a fourth down inside the 10 late in the game which sealed the deal.
Special Teams: We’ll start with what went wrong. First, Hester gets a concussion. Not good at all. Then, a field goal is blocked before halftime. With what went right, Peppers blocks a field goal in the second quarter. Then after the second touchdown, Adam Podlesh runs right in on a fake field-goal for a two-point conversion. I have to admit that it was awesome seeing that. Lastly, no holding or illegal block in the penalties. That has to be the first game in a long time that the special teams didn’t have a penalty. Let’s see if they can keep that up.
The Bears stay in a tie for first place for now with the Seahawks up next. With all of these injuries, I don’t know who is on the practice squad that can help on the offensive line or even on defense, but maybe the Bears should take a look at the waiver wire to see if they can find someone. The lack of depth on this team is starting to show even more.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you guys. I say this every year but it never gets old: Thank you very much for all of your support on this site for the last four years. There isn’t much to be happy about in the world of Chicago sports. The Bears are beginning to collapse, the Bulls still suck and will continue to and there still isn’t hockey. It looks like if there isn’t an agreement in the next two or three weeks, the entire season will be canceled. We can all thank Gary Bettman for that. It’s the fourth lockout in 20 years and for possibly the second time in eight years, an entire season could be wiped away.
Have at it folks.
