Fro Dog kept the site alive – by creating THIS site in August 2008 after “bobbyd” had mysteriously disappeared from the internet. I’ve often wondered what happened to bobbyd, and whether or not he was alive to enjoy the 2016 season when the Cubs finally won another World Series.

To be fair, you could say that the Astros overachieved…but it’s not the first time a Dusty led team has, only to fall short. This time, his team ‘teased’ the fans by losing the first 3 in a best of 7, only to win games 4-6 and even the series. But unlike the Red Sox, they couldn’t pull off the almost unthinkable…so here we are.

I don’t know Dusty Baker personally – by many accounts he’s a great guy’ – but some of the crap he spewed in 2003 when the Cubs were in control and yet self-imploded was too much for me. His mis-managment of the Cubs in the 2003 NLCS was EPIC.

After falling behind behind 2 games to none, the Cubs came back to win 3 in a row and were a mere 5 outs away in Game 6 at Wrigley Field from going to the World Series for the first time since 2008. The Marlins then scored 8 runs in the 8th inning, to defeat the Cubs 8-3. None of it was Bartman’s fault, I’ll forever give most of the credit to Dusty Baker (and some to Moises ‘piss hands’ Alou)…

If ‘toothpick chomping idiot’ seems overly harsh or malicious, please understand that it was merely a nod to those of you who’ve been checking in for more than a few years. Perhaps “Dustfuck’ would have been too harsh, and ‘Dustbin’ too blase (?).

We’ll see if the Braves can avoid a choke and win Game 7 (can’t pull for the Dodgers, due to Steve FUCKING Garvey). But given their postseason performance history, it will tough to bet on them should they prevail.

Thanks again to the 2016 Cubs (shout out to Joe Maddon and Theo Espstein) for winning the World Series.

It’s late. I’m exhausted. The good news is, I’m not going to bed all that pissed off because the Bears pulled one out of their asses despite Matt Nagy’s dumb ass trying to lose it late. Fuck, this isn’t ever easy with that bald idiot driving the bus. With some help from the referees and Cairo Santos coming up big, the Bears won this game and move to 4-1.

Offense: Look above. Matt Nagy did everything he could to piss this game away by not calling run plays when needed. Look at the game-winning drive. The Buccaneers had one timeout left and it was 2nd down. Instead of running the ball to make them call their last timeout, Nagy calls a pass play? Incomplete. The next play goes for five yards or so on a pass and then, the last timeout gets called. Again, this shouldn’t be difficult. Run the ball and make the other team use their timeouts. This was awful play-calling by the dumbass bald guy in the visor on the sideline. No other person in this world would keep giving Cordarelle Patterson the ball on handoffs. HE’S NOT A RUNNING BACK.

Hey, I am going to say some nice things about some players who are actually trying. It’s not Nick Foles’ fault that Nagy is a dumbass and puts the entire team in a position to fail. I will say the same for David Montgomery, Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson. They are out there doing everything they can to get this offense going. And Jimmy Graham? This team doesn’t have any of those four wins without him. He seems to have rejuvenated his career. He had a one-armed catch for a touchdown right before halftime that looked absolutely amazing. He’s made big catches all year and that was the top one. And back to Foles, he had big passes tonight. He put them in a position to win and again, this is despite who the coach of this team is.

Defense: It’s frustrating watching them give up touchdowns on the first drive of games all the time. Fuck. This shit needs to stop. Same with missing tackles. And for the love of God, can they stop giving up first downs and other big plays on 3rd down? It’s 3rd and 77 and somehow, the other team manages to get 65 yards and get a field goal out of it. ENOUGH.

That being said, they made some big plays down the stretch and at least they were field goals rather than touchdowns. Kyle Fuller forced a fumble before halftime that lead to a touchdown. Khalil Mack showed up and sacked Brady twice. Neither side of the ball have dominated for a full game. It’s not a good sign.

Special teams: Hey, give credit where credit is due. This week, the Bears brought in kicker Kai Forbath(house) for a look and stuck with Cairo Santos. Santos nailed two field goals with the last one being the game-winner with just over a minute to go. My heart was beating very fast during that last kick. I had to keep telling myself to “JUST BREATHE.”

Next up: The Bears go on the road to take on the Panthers a week from Sunday.

I was paying half-attention to this game due to the same shit I’ve seen from this team my entire life. How many times does the defense of the Bears give up a third down conversion? How many times am I going to see the defense give up a touchdown on the first drive? Enough of this.

Offense: Fuck this. Foles was garbage. Matt Nagy is still a fucking idiot for continuing to give Cordarelle Patterson the ball to run. WHY? FUCKING WHY?

Special teams: Who cares?

Next up are the Buccaneers this Thursday. Tom Brady is patiently waiting to put up five touchdowns.

The Marlins (Fucklins?) did it again!

Much as I wanted to, I never really believed the Cubs had a chance this year. They shot out of the gate but couldn’t sustain the energy for 60 games (less than 1/2 a normal season). They limped into the playoffs (again) and the hitting was almost non-existent (when it really matters).

I’m getting this out of the way. I am tired of the defense giving up huge plays. And when they actually do something worth a damn, a horrible call or calls by the referees stops it. It’s just annoying.

And for the love of God, what did we do to deserve Kenny Albert? The Kiss of Death To Chicago Sports strikes again. If this isn’t enough proof that 99% of games he calls involving Chicago teams end up in losses for them, what will?

As I’m typing this, Trubisky just threw an interception. Great.

Matt Nagy is a fucking idiot and this team fucking sucks. I’m out.

It was a really bad day in sports and in Chicago. I woke up and went to my usual wrestling site to get news and find out about Road Warrior Animal leaving this world too early. He wrestled in Chicago quite a bit along with his tag team partner, Hawk. After that, as it goes most mornings when getting ready for work, I put The Score on. They’re talking about Gayle Sayers and I immediately assumed the worst. Then, a few moments later, they announce again that Gayle has also left this place.

I never saw Gayle Sayers play. But seeing those highlights all these years, holy crap. If it weren’t for injuries, who knows what happens. My earliest memories hearing about him was the Halloween Night game when I was eight years old. Him and Butkus were having their jerseys retired that night as the Bears were absolutely humiliated by the Packers. And as we all know, those years were VERY BAD when it came to playing them. I looked it up and remembered the Bears lost 33-6. Ouch.

With all the stories about Sayers, nobody said a bad thing about him. I believe there were stories that his health wasn’t great the last few years. But it’s so unfortunate. I remember being a teenager when Walter Payton was gone. Everyone was just sick to their stomachs.

With Road Warrior Animal, I can’t say how many times I watched the 1998 Royal Rumble on VHS 20 years ago to see him and Hawk take on The New Age Outlaws. It’s too bad I wasn’t old enough to see these guys in their prime. This is the first time I’m showing anyone this. But I met Animal at C2E2 at McCormick Place on the last day of February this year. This was about two weeks before everything was shutting down in our world. He was one of the coolest dudes and let me wear his shoulder pads while taking a picture with him. I just can’t believe it.

2020 fucking sucks. And we need to get to 2021. Quickly.

What more can you say? A 17-point lead and it’s damn near gone one week after these guys came back down 17. Fuck. A deflection for an interception changed this entire game in the second half and left me nearly throwing my TV out the door. This is the worst 2-0 team I’ve ever seen and trust me, the 2013 Bears went 3-0. And we all know how fooled I was back then. At least they gave me a prayer. I already know how shitty this year’s team is.

Offense: Fucking spectacular in the first half. They were running the ball and timely throws. I was wondering who took away Matt Nagy’s stupid pills. But no worries. He found them at halftime because the offense just completely shit itself thanks to Nagy’s shitty play-calling. Instead of running the ball in the third, Nagy has Trubisky throwing all over the place. That interception I mentioned above with the Bears up 17-0 changed the game. The Giants get a field goal and start feeling pretty damn good.

Then, another interception on an another unnecessary throw. My mind is so shot at this point, I don’t remember much else other than one fucking play in the fourth quarter that pissed me off. 3rd and 1? What happens? Pass? Matt Nagy, you are a fucking idiot. Then, the last offensive drive, they fail to run more. Trubisky did a great thing by staying inbounds on the scramble. But a missed field goal by Cairo Santos gave the Giants a shot.

I do have to give credit to the only three players on offense who were worth a damn today. That would be David Montgomery, Darnell Mooney (great catch) and Allen Robinson.

Last thing on the offense: If Cordarelle Patterson is called for a run play one more time, I’m going to go to Chicago and kick that bald bastard Nagy right in the nuts. Fuck.

Defense: Great in the first half. Spectacular in fact. But wow, the second half was awful. What “great” defense gives up a 95-yard touchdown drive in less than five minutes? Is it fatigue? Is it the stench of past teams where it just follows along as new players come in? This shit has been going on since Lovie Smith was here. It’s a fucking culture that needs to change. I’m tired of this shit. PUT ONE FULL GAME TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YOUR LIVES YOU FUCKING FUCKS.

Special teams: Cordarelle Patterson needs to stop running the ball five yards out of the end zone. He isn’t Devin Hester. And Cairo Santos? Fuck. I don’t even know what to say about this guy. That missed field goal was awful. Not sure if the wind had a say. But Eddy Pinero needs to get back as soon as possible and that’s saying something.

Next up are the Falcons. I’m off to call the cardiologist.

Defense: These fucking assholes can’t stop a team when it matters the most. Give up a touchdown right before halftime. And at the start of the 3rd? The Lions march right down for another one. The defense has yet to sack Stafford. In fact, the entire defense doesn’t have any sacks if you catch my drift.

I’m just fucking done. I’m already exhausted from this team. They aren’t coming back to win this game.

Well, it may take me a bit to figure things out. I haven’t looked at the roster much. But I am certain I am ready for another year of shitty play-calling, blown leads, missed field goals, injuries and coaches lying about injuries. It’s just unfortunate no one will be in the stands to boo the piss out of this franchise. But like the last 35 years, I don’t think that’s worked. So hey, you never know?

The Bears are on the road against the Lions. I already hear there are injuries to “key” players. But again, does this really matter? It’s routine for the Bears to have this issue. Lack of depth is also an issue since the supposed general manager of this team doesn’t know how to draft players.

I said in May that the Bears will go 5-11. I don’t see myself shifting that prediction as I feel that’s a very accurate guess. They’ll win a game that no one expects them to. They’ll lose a few games (at least) that they could have easily won. Unfortunately, a shitty head coach is the reason why this will be the case (as it’s been the last 35 years).
