Forget drafting and developing players. Well, whoever they get ends up being hurt anyway. But already signing players with a history of injuries in the NFL? Come on.
Call me pessimistic, but it is what it is. And so far in the Ryan Pace disast-ERA, it’s more common.
I know, it’s the NFL. Everyone gets hurt. It’s just how it is these days and it’s unfortunate.
Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Trey Burton are the big signings for this team. The Bears need to be smart (good joke) and not trade away draft picks just to move up like last year. Keep the picks and get as many players as possible. It’s a dart board, but they need to get some bullseyes.
What could be an under-the-radar signing is a new kicker in Cody Parker. He came from the Dolphins. The history of kickers on this team in my lifetime is a vile one. I mean, I had early memories of Kevin Butler and as much as I can’t stand this next guy, Robbie Gould’s first few years were really good. It was the last few that made me not miss him.
The thread is yours. Throw your thoughts into it. And apologies to all for not posting much lately. With work going crazy and a lousy winter in sports for Chicago, my desire has not been there. I’ll try to post more in the next month as the NFL Draft is in late April.
