Bears/Packers game.

December 3, 2009 by

We still need a couple more people to let me know whether or not they are coming to the Bears/Packers gathering on December 13th. Keith recommended a pretty good location which would be equal distance for the majority of us.

It’s at the Brat Stop in Kenosha. According to the map, it’s real easy to get to Kenosha and that place as it is right off the I-94. The game is at noon.

I believe right now, it is me, JimmyD, Keith and Mac. If anybody wants to bring someone along, feel free. It would be nice to have about 10 people there.

It’s a week from Sunday so if we don’t get more people or if the weather is crappy around that time, we may have to cancel.

Just an idea…

With the Bears season being over for about three weeks now, does anybody see the point in continuing to play Jay Cutler? The guy clearly isn’t safe with this offensive line. He was once again running for his life just about every time he dropped back to pass. And to be honest, every game the rest of this season is meaningless. There is no point in playing him and risking injury with the possibillity of it having a long term affect.

So call me crazy, but the Bears should start Caleb Hanie or at least give him a good amount of playing time the rest of this season just to see how he can do. I am not expecting much but Cutler clearly isn’t doing the job. I am not writing him off because I know the offensive line sucks along with the receivers not knowing the plays. But still, there is nothing to lose with playing Hanie or any of the other backups in other positions.

And you never know. Maybe there are some players who haven’t seen the field yet that might be able to help this team win in the future.

Happy Thanksgiving.

In Chicago, there isn’t much to be thankful for in terms of the Bears or Bulls. Although the Blackhawks and Illini basketball are going to be keeping me busy this winter. We will see how those two teams pan out in the coming months.

So anyway, I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

Fuck. This. Team.

Fire Ron Turner petition.

November 15, 2009 by

The good guys over at Fire Ron Turner are starting a petition calling for the duties of Ron Turner to be relieved. Here I am just passing the word around. I already signed it. If you guys want to, just click here. I said in the previous post that Lovie isn’t getting fired anytime soon but good ol’ Ron could be sometime. Besides, there’s nothing to lose. Right?

Bears’ season over.

November 12, 2009 by

Well. That’s it. I told all of guys that I wanted to wait to see what happened with this game before making my decision. The Bears will not make the playoffs (not official but 99.9% doubtful). Well, at least the defense did something good albeit a crappy 49ers offense.

Thanks goes out to Jay Cutler for making me think of Rex Grossman.

Thanks goes out to the offensive line for not letting Matt Forte get any yards and for almost getting Jay Cutler killed on every play. Also, big props to the wide receivers for not knowing how to run a fucking route.

Special thanks to Ron Turner and his predictable plays such as the wide receiver screen to Devin Hester for two yards. Or Dan and Carl’s favorite predicatable play: The I-Formation of Death.

Finally, I want to give thanks to Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith. Thanks for taking the best kick/punt returner in football and transforming him into a mediocre 3rd receiver.

There is enough blame to go around and not solely on one or two people. From Cutler to the offensive line. To the secondary and the coaching.

I have bad news for you guys: Lovie Smith isn’t getting fired. Maybe next season sometime but not this season or during the offseason. As much as I want him gone now after I defended him numerous times the past couple years, he isn’t going anywhere. Deal with it.

Fuck these damn pricks.

One last thing, I must give credit to reader Captain Kirk for his prediction of this game about two weeks ago and the rest of you guys for telling me that I was wrong by defending Lovie and this team. I was wrong and the rest of you were right.

The Bears game Thursday night will be on channel 50 for those living in the Chicagoland area.

For you guys living outside Chicago and can’t get NFL Network, if you want to watch the game online for free, let me know. I will give you a couple websites where you can watch it.

Bears down 21-7 in the 2nd. Game over.

November 8, 2009 by

That’s right. The game is over. If they don’t win Thursday, their season will be over.
